Chapter 314: Chapter 309: A New Beginning (4)

Yan Yan hadn’t managed to speak before the factory car pulled away from her view. Her mouth was already agape, but she didn’t know how to start swearing.

Ye Mo had actually spoken the truth, the people on the scene indeed couldn’t fit in the spaces at the front of the truck.

Yan Yan’s parents, and Aunt and Uncle were her personal invitees, so there was definitely no surprise when she saw her family.

But beyond her parents, standing at the back of that very shoe factory truck, there were five more people.

Wei Fengsui’s parents, his wife and daughter, and Wei Fengsui’s younger brother.

The whole family of Yan Dabang’s "good neighbors" from Melbourne, except for Wei Fengsui, had arrived without a single one missing.

Yan Yan had been too busy lately, so she never asked how long her parents planned to stay in New York.

Yan Yan, who hadn’t had a spare moment to sleep, hadn’t called home for over a month to chat about ordinary things; everything was as concise as possible.

The sight before her was indeed beyond her imagination.

What was this all about? Yan Yan couldn’t figure out the situation for a moment.

"Just now, after that truck took the shoes away, there’s no problem, right? We should be able to make it, right?" Yan Dabang, seeing his daughter looking dumbstruck after seeing them, thought that Yan Yan might have some important business delayed.

"Oh, it should be fine." Yan Yan blanked out for another two seconds.

"Uncle Wei, Aunt Lei, welcome to New York. My parents didn’t tell me you were coming with them. There are too many of us; we couldn’t fit in that last truck. Let me find a bigger car first, please wait here for a moment," said Yan Yan. She was preparing to rent a car.

Wei Fengsui’s brother stopped Yan Yan, "I thought we could take a few taxis, so I didn’t rent a big car. It’s been a long time since you saw your parents, right? Why don’t you catch up with them, and I’ll go find a car rental service inside."

After hearing Pili’s words, Yan Yan realized that she didn’t necessarily need to put everyone in one car.

She simply needed to give the driver the address; after all, Wei Fengsui’s brother’s wife and daughter were both from Australia and had no language barriers.

There was even less to worry about with Pili. Even if they had to take three cars, they could solve the immediate problem.

Why had she thought they all needed to be in one car?

Having just woken up, Yan Yan’s head was still a bit foggy, and her reactions were slower than usual.

By the time she had come to her senses, Pili had already gone to rent a car.

So, what exactly was the situation now?

How did all these people come together?

While Yan Yan was still in a daze, a little figure ran up to her.

"Aunt Yan, my dad says you’re a clothing designer and that you design lots of beautiful clothes.

My dad also said that when you first heard about me, you wanted to dress me up.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing you again in Melbourne.

But you didn’t meet me last time you came to Melbourne.

My grandparents came to New York, and since it’s my summer vacation now, I persuaded my mom to come along, too.

Can you dress me as beautifully as Elsa from Frozen?" Wei Fengsui’s daughter’s words broke through Yan Yan’s slightly stalled thoughts.

"Elsa, if you call me ’sister,’ I’ll consider it," Yan Yan said with a smile to the little girl.

After coming back to her senses, the first thing Yan Yan felt unsatisfied with was the way her brother Fengsui’s daughter addressed her.

By rank of seniority, it was definitely not wrong for the girl to call her auntie.

But Yan Yan didn’t recall ever being called ’auntie’ by anyone in her memory.

If it were Yan Ling’s child calling her ’auntie,’ she probably wouldn’t have any reaction.

But her cousin’s child, whose shadow was still unknown at the present, was a different matter.

Suddenly being called ’auntie’ by a little girl who was already in elementary school was something Yan Yan just couldn’t get used to.

"Sister Yan," the little girl didn’t hesitate at all and immediately changed her form of address.

"You’re such a good girl. Then sister will make sure you’re dressed beautifully. Why do you like Elsa?" Yan Yan was very pleased with the little girl’s response.

"Because my name is Elsa too," the girl answered as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Like Elsa, the Ice Queen, since her name was Elsa, she too was an Ice Queen, and naturally, she loved Elsa and wanted to wear Elsa’s clothes.

The logic of children is simple and direct; Yan Yan found no fault in this and stroked the little girl’s head.

"Did your grandparents come with you to the United States for summer vacation? Have you decided where you want to go?" Yan Yan asked Elsa.

Normally, upon meeting this group of people, Yan Yan’s first task would have been to greet each one, but since they had already been talking for a while, suddenly going up to greet everyone would have seemed a bit odd. It was better to continue chatting with the little girl.

The reason Yan Yan initially stood there, stunned and not approaching right away, was not only because there were so many people, but mainly because she felt a bit embarrassed to see Lei Pili again.

Yan Yan and Lei Pili had not been in contact for a long time.

She hadn’t had any unpleasant experiences with Lei Pili before.

During her time in Italy, Lei Pili had offered her a lot of help, in a warm but respectful manner.

The problem arose from something her parents especially had Yan Ling bring up during his visit to New York two months ago.

They mentioned that since she was in France, Lei Pili was going to work in Paris.

Knowing Lei Pili was still single, she felt a bit guilty inside.

She had a hunch it might have something to do with her, but she had no intention of confirming it.

Yan Yan had always been clear about boundaries; since there was no chance of being with Lei Pili, there was no point in giving him false hope.

When Lei Pili went to Paris, she just happened to come to New York. This kind of miss was the perfect arrangement.

"Nope, my grandparents were lured to New York by Grandpa Yan and Grandma Lu—oh, no, I mean your dad and mom," Elsa corrected herself immediately after mentioning that only if she called her ’sister’ would she get to wear beautiful clothes.

When Yan Yan was talking to Elsa, she had still been standing in place, but as soon as the little girl confirmed her identity, she ran straight up to her.

Because of this, Yan Yan and her family were still separated by the distance of a cargo truck.

Elsa took Yan Yan’s hand and they joined the "main troop."

"Grandma, Sister promised to make me an Elsa gown. Give me my iPad. I have the cartoon on it. I’ll show Sister so she knows exactly what kind of dress I want," the little girl, perhaps fearing Yan Yan might go back on her word, was eager to confirm with Yan Yan the style of the dress she wanted.
