Love Affairs in Melbourne-Chapter 324 - 319 Evil Spirit
Yan Yan acted willfully for a while, but she still put away her temper and decided to visit the flagship store in Rockefeller Center.
Even though she already knew that success was very unlikely.
But after all, from the material selection to the design of the shoes and the shoe upper, to the window display design, Yan Yan had been hands-on with every aspect.
The effort Yan Yan put into this project was no less than any Haute Couture launch.
Since she had worked so hard for so long, no matter the outcome, Yan Yan wanted to adhere to her principle of meticulous perfection.
There were many things in business that were hard to articulate, especially for brands that started off online.
Just like how Y·Y became popular, it was difficult to pinpoint the exact reason.
The reason why the Insensitive Shoes that Yan Yan devoted herself to didn’t take off was also hard to find right away.
The promotional efforts, the preliminary groundwork, every little detail had been done well enough.
So well that Yan Yan, the Haute Couture designer who sought perfection in her designs, could hardly pick out many faults.
Why would the final result be like this?
In an effort to boost the store’s popularity, a hip-hop singer ranked tenth in popularity had also been arranged to appear at the flagship store in New York.
Although the final results would not be out until tomorrow.
But wasn’t it supposed to be about boosting one’s popularity by starting to hustle on site today?
Tenth place might not seem very high.
But online, if you count the songs created to "diss" Y·Y, there were at least four or five hundred, and those that made it into the top ten had fans numbering in the hundreds of thousands at least.
It couldn’t be that it would not stir up a bit of excitement.
Was the online frenzy over the Y·Y brand songs an event she had caused by spending money?
Yan Yan hadn’t done such things at all, and Yan Ling probably wouldn’t either. So who was it?
Reality is always so cruel, but once you choose to accept it, everything just becomes part of the process.
"Ye Mo, the duo that ranked first in online popularity before chose Miami, right?" Yan Yan just heard from Ye Mo on the phone that he was at a store in Miami.
"Yeah, I thought there might be a lot of people here, so I decided to come over and see if there was anything that needed special preparation." Ye Mo didn’t just randomly choose a store to personally "deliver the shoes."
"So, is it crowded there now?" Yan Yan asked Ye Mo.
"Well... it should be more or less the same as when it’s just opened." Ye Mo hesitated before replying.
Ye Mo’s hesitation added insult to injury for Yan Yan’s mood.
"By the time it opens, there will probably be more people, and who knows what might happen then." After thinking for a moment, Ye Mo added another sentence.
Ye Mo’s last statement, had he not made it at all, would have been better, but adding it made Yan Yan’s mood even heavier.
What’s going on? Or was it that the shoes she had always been designing for Haute Couture, from material to design, were only suitable for the Haute Couture path?
"I need to go put the shoes on display here, and if you go to Rockefeller Center, just see if there are any details that need to be adjusted.
If there’s anything that needs to be changed about the window display or the shoe arrangement, let me know as soon as possible.
I will make arrangements, to ensure all the stores maintain as much consistency as possible." After saying this, Ye Mo hung up the phone.
This guy had been bustling about recently, with his efficiency much improved compared to the past.
But with the popularity already dropping, what good was high efficiency?
The expectation and good mood Yan Yan had on her way to Rockefeller Center had now completely vanished.
But since she had already come, Yan Yan still decided to check the site to see if there was anything she wasn’t satisfied with.
It was already an established fact; what else could be done?
They had no choice but to hope for the best in a desperate situation.
Yan Yan crossed the street and headed toward her flagship store.
What initially looked like three people queuing up at the storefront now seemed like they were preparing for a lengthy ordeal.
Before, two of them were awkwardly leaning against the glass wall, but now all three were sitting on the ground.
As someone approached, none of the few people raised their heads.
One of them directly told Yan Yan and Qi Yi that everyone had agreed not to queue up in front of this store for the opening.
After the person finished speaking, another "queuer" sitting next to him continued the previous person’s words,
If there really is a music award ceremony at that time, it will take place in this store.
The remaining third person then suggested that Yan Yan and Qi Yi either join them in the square inside for some fun or come back tomorrow. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
These three clearly had an understanding as they spoke—one sentence each, not needing to look at the newcomers to make their points clearly.
Agreed not to queue up, a real award ceremony if it happens...
These words floated into Yan Yan’s mind, leaving her even more puzzled.
Why would there be an agreement to boycott the New York flagship store, and how could the award ceremony possibly be fake?
Was someone spreading rumors online or what?
How had a good night’s sleep turned the well-prepared opening plans into a complete mess?
Yan Yan was somewhat stunned by what these people said.
Seeing that Yan Yan had no intention of leaving, one of the seated people eventually raised their head and stood up.
Without looking up it would have been fine, but as soon as he did, he had the menacing look of an Evil Spirit.
It was bad enough just by looks, but he then pointed a finger at Yan Yan.
With eyes widened and mouth agape, he gave Yan Yan an even more malevolent stare, yet did not utter a word.
Yan Yan, already a bit dazed, was now thoroughly frightened.
Could something she had no clue about have happened?
Yan Yan initially wanted to enter the store to see the situation, but at this moment, she chose to give up.
Seizing the moment while the other two had not yet reacted, Yan Yan swiftly turned and pulled Qi Yi toward Madison Avenue.
There were three unfriendly people guarding the store entrance.
Even Yan Ling, who "loved" to fight, might not be able to handle them if she were here.
Let alone Qi Yi, who hardly ever got into conflicts with people.
Yan Yan couldn’t even imagine what Qi Yi fighting would look like, having never seen it.
Yan Yan was pulling on Qi Yi, but Qi Yi just stood there, showing no desire to be led away by Yan Yan.
The person who had just been pointing at Yan Yan with his mouth open now crouched back down and resumed talking to his accomplice, who had been absorbed in his mobile game and hadn’t looked up once.
If they didn’t leave now, once several others joined in, wouldn’t they be trapped with no chance of escape?
