Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 539: Lord Ralph

Far away from lands of Basarisk where all creatures were prohibited to enter, a different act was being played off, a peaceful mourning in a dark cemetery. Red roses were everywhere, around the tombstone, spreading sweet smell in the air. The man standing in front of tombstone was least bothered about everything existed in this world. His eyes laid stuck on the tombstone, reminding some distant memories that were too blurry in his vision. Perhaps, someone cursed like him never deserved a life of love.

Letting out a heavy exhale from his mouth, he hung his head low to stare deeply at the flowers, failing to notice any movements behind his back. Not long after that, the red flowers begun to turn black, lifeless as if they had never seen spring. The man in front of tombstone had a dark face, knowing what was coming on his way.

" What is the point of giving flowers to that woman who never valued your affection?", a sarcastic voice remarked from his back. The man whose age seemed around fourty even though he was hundred years old turned around to glance at his unfilial son.Hayden gave a sheepish glare at his father whose gaze was unwelcoming.

" You were better off in that coffin.",Lord Ralph commented after his pleasant mood was destroyed. Even at this old age, his attitude didn’t improve and he remained cold blooded demon which he was already.

Hayden who was used of his behavior only laughed out softly. His father always counted him as a mistake since he wasn’t supposed to born with Cedric. Hayden joked around, shaking his head dramatically,

" Tsk! Which father wants his son in the coffin? Opps! You have only one son!"

Ralph continued narrowing his eyes at Hayden before pulling them back at those pitch-dark flowers. He gritted his words out,

" Why must you do it?"

Hayden raised his hands in the air, faking innocence,

" That wasn’t my fault. What can I do if my presence does it?"

Ralph whose mood became worse turned around to question Hayden who never appear in his sight without motives. Ralph was very straightforward about questioning him,

" What do you need this time? You aren’t supposed to be here!"

Hayden skipped his question instead asked back with a dark face,

" Neither should you! How do you feel so much emotions for her? Aren’t you the true demon without any human feelings, father?"

Ralph who never allowed anyone to disrespect the woman in tombstone barked whipping around to glare at Hayden,

" Language! That’s none of your business. What are you doing in my place?"

Ralph continued confronting Hayden who was nothing but a heartless monster in his vision. Sometimes Ralph even wondered that how did this boy was born from his own gene. Though the true demons had no heart, emotions, he never acted so vicious like Hayden who took countless innocent lives to pleasure his demon. Hence, he never tried to stop Cedric even though he was putting Hayden in his coffin.

In a matter of seconds, Hayden who was few feet away from him vanished in the air completely. Flabbergasted, Ralph looked around carefully but soon he felt something under his throat, a sharp dagger, shining through the darkness horrifying.

Ralph gritted his words out without moving,

" Hayden, what are you doing? You dare to raise weapon against your father?"

Hayden who was holding the dagger casually let out a hilarious laughter. After scaring Ralph enough, he put the dagger away from his throat and mimicked sarcastically like a maniac,

" See, how death scared you, father! I thought, it was only me."

Lord Ralph took several steps back from Hayden who continued being playful with that dagger in his hands. After a short cough, he questioned Hayden with a tight frown,

" What do you want exactly, Hayden?"

Hayden whose grin broadened over his father’s interested didn’t try to hide his intentions. Circling one round around him, he spoke very calm voice, emphasizing each word very clearly,

" Ask Cedric to take the true Demon’s throne, father. You know, I don’t wish to become a filthy king like you."

Ralph who was aware of his malicious intentions disapproved immediately, giving Hayden a stern look,

" Hayden, you have already sinned enough. He is your brother after all. Why must you hurt his life?"

Hayden rebuked sharply, stopping and glaring at his father who never supported his decision,

" Because it was him who tried to control me, father. I can’t let him take the big risk of my life. He wishes to control my actions with that girl."

Ralph assured, shaking his head certainly,

" Cedric will never kill you. He could have done it in the past."

Hayden let out a chuckle and mocked staring deep at his father,

" Are you taking his side even though he never called you his father? Oh come on, father! You don’t want anyone to know how did we born, do you?"

Ralph was stunned after listening his underlined threats. What sin did he commit to give birth to a son like him? Clearly, he was stating that he was going to expose the dark secrets of Jasmine who was his biological mother too.

How could he use her death mother to gain his own selfish motives?

Ralph who developed a sinful affection towards Jasmine didn’t dare to challenge him back. Jasmine was long gone and he wished to protect her dignity until his last breath. After taking few deep breaths, Ralph spoke pursuing his lips hesitantly, 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

" I can only ask him but it’s upto him."

Hayden grinned with a low hum and spitted his last words before dissaparing,

" Convince him father! I don’t want my family’s blood in my hands, you know that. Killing few more won’t do any harm to me."
