Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 541: Tell Me The Truth!
Alexander carried a taunt in his voice but he was breaking inside. His sister always loved child and loosing her very first child would definitely break her into pieces completely. On the other side, Cedric was too stunned to speak anything, the disbelief was written all over his face.
His feet stumbled backward, feeling too weak to stay on his feet. He had never felt guilty like this before. Always, he believed that he was making the right decision. Then how could he kill his own child?
Frenchies who was few feet away from them, listening to their conversation quietly let out a gasp of horror, his eyes turning wide. He knew the reason behind this miscarriage. Not only Cedric, he did feel guilty equally. Perhaps, he could have stopped stopped Cedric from putting that medicine.
How did he get involved himself in killing an unborn child?
A loud sob from Elizabeth evaporated in the corridor. She cried harder, feeling the pain of her best friend. Why did she had always this cruel fate?
Elizabeth began to question internally and asked Alexander nervously,
" Should... should we visit her?"
Before Alexander could give her any answer, the front door was pushed open as the healer stepped outside in her horrible look. She was looking like she had encountered a ghost inside. Alexander stomped forward, asking anxiously after stealing a glance of the door,
" How is she doing now? Is she still sick?"
The healer had a troubled look on her expression since she found the Lady’s behavior strange. Even, she didn’t understand who had brought those medicine for her since it was rare in their medical world. Not wanting to sound too noisy, the healer gave them a plain reply before making her way out,
" She is okay now..You can visit her later..The lady wants to spend her time alone in resting."
Then, the healer fled away like a frightened kitten, leaving Alexander in full of suspicious mind. Her unusual behavior didn’t get unnoticed. Since Ayra wanted to rest, he didn’t want to disturb either. Turning around to face the maids and Elizabeth, Alexander suggested thoughtfully, staring at the dark night outside,
" His highness is already here for your Lady. We should leave them alone now. Let’s get back to your rooms."
Although Elizabeth was hesitating, they left one after another. It was a tough time for a couple and Elizabeth assumed that they had lot to say personally. It was better that they were given some privacy. After the corridor was empty, Frenchies pushed his eyes up to question Cedric nervously,
" Will..will you meet her now?"
Cedric was quiet, his eyes faltered from back to forth in pain. Only god knew how much he was paining inside. How could he face her after knowing that he was solely responsible for her pain? How will he tell her the truth?
Meanwhile, inside the room, Ayra turned off all the lights across the space. Welcoming the darkness of outside, she laid there flat like a lifeless doll. Her thoughts were everywhere especially the moment when he asked her to drink and she drank it, believing her husband wholeheartedly. Only if she knew that it was going to take her baby away. She would have never had that drink.
Why did he do this to her?
He no only took her baby but shattered all those trusts that she developed in this while. She wanted to believe the demon who was loathed by everyone. Was it too wrong to think that he would never harm her at any cost?
As the thoughts ran across her mind, few silent tears dropped from Ayra’s eyes, wetting the pillow slowly. No sob, no whimper came from her mouth as if all her cries were buried forcefully. Even without her consciousness, she began to imagine a future with a baby right by her side. But snapping back to harsh reality, she shuddered, knowing that her baby was gone.
If he really didn’t want a child with her, why didn’t he tell her? Why did he had to kill an innocent life?
It was an endless debate, crossing through her mind. Before she could sink deeper, her door was pushed open, familiar footsteps began to echo from the doorway.
Her heart sank deeper and further, knowing that it was him finally. But her throat felt dry. All those overwhelming emotions made her numb like a puppet.
Upon entering, Cedric first saw her curling on the bed, her face was hidden in the darkness. His heart ached for her vulnerable state and very considerably, he tiptoed over the cabinet to lighten the room.
" Do.. don’t...", came a cracking response from her unexpectedly. Cedric paused between his action and swallowed hard, knowing very well that she was crying all this time. Her tone sounded too broken in his ears.
Closing his eyes for a while, he turned around to tiptoe over her bed. Sitting at the edge of his bed, he murmured too afraid to touch his her hand,
" Are you feeling okay?"
No response came from her mouth and he was slightly nervous because she had been quiet instead of crying. Ayra lifted her eyes up at him finally. His eyes gleaned in concern through the darkness.
How could she believe that he had done something cruel to her?
Sitting up straight weakly, she faced his blank expression and smiled sadly. Perhaps, he was too happy to be accomplished his mission of getting rid of this child.
After a few moments of silence, her tears began to fall again relentlessly. Ayra took a deep breath and muttered pushing her quivering lips together,
" Tell me, you didn’t put the medicine intentionally, Cedric?"
Cedric’s lips parted, wanting to say something but nothing came out except his painful sighs. Ayra urged without breaking their eye contact,
" Tell me honestly! You didn’t kill the baby, did you? Tell me honestly that I didn’t do anything wrong by trusting a demon like you?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
