Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 590: The Wings With Fire
Elizabeth seemed suspicious as well. When she saw Ayra’s questioning face, she tried to soothe the atmosphere,
" Ah! Maybe he wanted to pay for a secret visit there."
Ayra didn’t say her words out loud. If Cedric wanted to go there secretly, he could just transport himself there instead of using a local carriage. But she never heard from his mouth that he was visiting Isle town. The town felt like a mystery to her.
The carriage drove off despite the tough weather. The happy chauffeur didn’t chat anymore as he needed to keep his focus stuck on the road. Hours later, the carriage stopped in the Isle town.
The rain had stopped already. But the marks that it left on the earth were still present. The shops were all closed because of the rain. Only a few lanterns seemed hanging outside of the shops without any buyers or sellers. All of them went to take shelter in a safe place. The roads all looked dump and muddy for the rain. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Ayra stepped down with Elizabeth, her eyes taking close attention to the surface around. Even though the town was remote, it was quite moderate in comparison with other remote towns that falls under Basarisk.
Elizabeth felt a shudder, running through her spine when a round of cold wind brushed past her skin. She murmured, feeling a little scared to see the lonely town,
" I think..we should have brought... Arthur..or Alexander at least..this seems a little scary princess.."
Ayra didn’t say anything and went to the direction of the mansion which was under Cedric’s names. Siemus had drawn a map clumsily to show her the direction of the mansion including the rooms inside. So, it didn’t take much time to reach the mansion gate. All she hoped that Cedric wouldn’t find about her little adventure.
The dark mansion stood not too far away from the market. Build with ancient interior, Ayra was pretty much sure that this mansion had probably several ancestors of owners before it fell under Cedric’s name. Her gaze stopped on the mansion gate, sinking into deep thoughts. She couldn’t understand why the mansion had been so secretive but a part of her heart felt guilty for invading his privacy.
Ayra lifted her left hand to use her magical powers to open the door but Elizabeth suddenly jumped between, reminding her in a serious voice,
" Wait!! Princess!!! What if you try to break in and notify the Lord? I think, we shouldn’t use magic to trespass."
Ayra stopped immediately and found that her words made sense. Even being his wife, she still had no idea what he couldn’t do or not. After all, there wasn’t any living Demon in the earth before Cedric. Being the only example of his kind, it was difficult to find his certain list of abilities.
Ayra growled, letting out an exasperated sigh,
" Ugh! What should we do then? We haven’t brought any keys. There is no way that Frenchies would give us the keys. How should we get in?"
Elizabeth pondered for a while and suggested to Ayra,
" Why don’t you..use your wings? I mean, you are a part fairy, aren’t you? We haven’t many audiences around. Pretty sure, no one will suspect your identity."
Ayra shook her head and was afraid of alerting Cedric. She saw in the castle how he could sense different powers in his territory. Hence, she couldn’t take the risk and suggested instead,
" Elizabeth! You are a fairy too. Why don’t you take us into the mansion? You just have to fly, that’s it."
Elizabeth’s face fell as soon as Ayra mentioned about her abilities. In fact, she actually never saw her own wings even though she had passed 18. Her step Mother forbade her because using wings made fairies more beautiful with the periods of their lives. Her step mother didn’t want Elizabeth to be more beautiful than her biological daughter. So, she put odd rules on Elizabeth and named it as her safety protocols.
Elizabeth replied in an embarrassing voice, biting her lower lips,
" Well..I..I have never..used my wings.. princess..I don’t know how they are..."
" You.. what??", Ayra blurted, seeming shocked and perplexed. She knew the cruelty of her step-mother but never expected that she had actually never allowed Elizabeth to fly like other creatures.
Upon hearing Ayra’s shock, Elizabeth was even more embarrassed and hung her head lowly. Ayra let out a sigh and encouraged her softly,
" That doesn’t matter. You have passed 18 and have definitely have your wings. Why don’t you try? I would be here to catch you. Don’t be scared."
Elizabeth was still hesitating. It was a whole new experience for her and it was okay for her to get scared. After a moment of contemplation, she let her fears go away and muttered weakly,
" I can only try but I don’t know..it will work or not.."
Ayra shot her an encouraging glance. Elizabeth took a deep breath and went behind the mansion with Ayra, hidden by the big trees in front of the road. Her aim was to land on the center of the mansion.
Elizabeth clenched her fists together, her pulse getting nervous as she stood far away from Ayra. Ayra kept encouraging her hopefully,
" Just believe that you have your wings and you are the one who control it. It will appear on its own, Elizabeth. I am here to take care of you if anything goes wrong."
Elizabeth felt a little easy after her words and nodded her head blankly. Then, she focused on bringing her mind powers all together to summon her wings. For the very first seconds, it didn’t work which made her little impatient.
Once she pressured on her mind powers, a burst of flame came from her back. She let out a low, muffled cry and sped up in the air with an uncontrolled speed, causing Ayra to fall in panic state. Elizabeth disappeared before she could even figure out the situation.
