Chapter 109: Andrea And Alexis

Andrea watched the wound on her brother’s hand with concern. She also grimaced when her brother winced from the medicine that was placed on his wound. It was not a deep wound, but a long one.

After the doctor bandaged the wound, Andrea helped her brother put his clothes back on. Tania, who actually stood not far from them, poured a glass of warm tea to calm the prince.

"So, how did you get hurt?" Andrea asked as she sat back down on the sofa.

"It was caused by that man. He shot right next to me."

"That man? Who?" Andrea asked curiously.

Alexis huffed in annoyance.

"King Ronan. The forest was so dark that I couldn’t see a bear behind me, and the man shot the bear, but the arrow hit my arm too," replied Alexis, who again felt angry at being humiliated in such a way.

The man’s threats made his blood burn even more. Alexis had no intention to share and let her know the threat Ronan made to him. He touched his neck, which was still sore from the strangulation. Andrea then held out the cup of tea that Tania had poured for her brother.

"Drink first to calm yourself down because I have something to tell you."

Alexis glanced at Tania, who was still waiting for the two of them.

"What are you doing here? You can go back to your place," said Alexis, annoyed.

Tania immediately left the room and felt relieved. After she closed the door, she tried to eavesdrop. However, unfortunately, the room was soundproof, so Tania couldn’t hear anything.

Again she couldn’t get any further information about the reason why the South wanted Arielle to be back soon so badly. Three days of serving the two, Prince Alexis and Princess Andrea communicated carefully.

Even when Tania accompanied the two, they chose to read a book or talk about how they missed the sun’s warmth in the South. No conversation felt serious enough, no secrets were discussed or anything important.

This always made Tania feel like she was on the brink. Andrea started to lift her legs, putting them on the sofa. The boisterous drums of the people in the Colosseum were heard in the room they occupied.

Both Andrea and Alexis were not interested in the winner’s celebration party because they knew who would win the hunting party.

"So you have something to say?"

"Regarding the thing I said before. I told you that Arielle has a relationship with King Ronan, didn’t I? And you asked for proof. I visited her room earlier when the bodyguard named Lucas was off guard."

Andrea then chuckled in annoyance when she remembered how Arielle dared to raise her voice in front of her. Being treated well in the North made the girl forget her status.

Andrea really wanted to intimidate the girl again after Arielle returned to the South later, to remind Arielle that her position was higher than that of the girl.

"Arielle is an innocent girl. I tried to ask her about her relationship with the king, hoping she would speak as usual. Instead of answering, she scolded me."

For the first time since that bothersome day, Alexis laughed and felt his stress ease temporarily. He snorted softly and chuckled for a couple of minutes. When he glanced at Andrea, she was now furiously glaring at him.

"What?"

Andrea then groaned in annoyance because her brother didn’t care about her feelings.

"You find it funny? You know, if we weren’t in the North, I almost slapped her earlier."

"You’re too harsh to Arielle," said Alexis, who didn’t like Andrea having harsh thoughts to Arielle.

"Tch, you’re too soft on Arielle. Why don’t you just say it if you like Arielle more than me?"

Alexis put down his cup and looked at Andrea closely.

"So what’s the evidence?" asked the man and turned the conversation to the right track.

Andrea snorted in annoyance. "I saw a painting. A painting of King Ronan without his mask made by Arielle."

Painting? Arielle painted the king? Alexis did know that the girl liked to paint. He had seen Arielle several times drawing landscapes in the palace or sketching the Palace Guards. But it felt like painting a king was impossible for someone amateur to do.

What’s more, Andrea said Arielle was painting the king without his mask on? Was Arielle that close to being trusted to see the man’s ugly face?

Alexis remembered the closeness of the two of them when escorting King Ronan’s departure to the forest. Then the man threatened to take Arielle to stay in the North if the South couldn’t find a replacement wolf within a month.

Fuck. The Royal Family couldn’t find a single Southern wolf without Duke Pellington’s help. Then how could he bring Arielle home?

No. No. No.

Alexis wouldn’t let his sister live with such a barbarian. Arielle should marry Duke Pellington instead so that Alexis could still monitor her. If she was here, it would be difficult for Alexis to know Arielle’s condition later.

"Are you sure?"

"You’ll see for yourself," replied Andrea curtly because she was still annoyed that Alexis defended Arielle more than herself.

"Is he as ugly as the rumors say?"

Andrea didn’t answer. She looked away with a blush on her face. The woman shook her head which left Alexis curious.

"Tell me if he’s really ugly." Alexis pressed his younger sister, who suddenly became silent, for the answer.

"No, he’s handsome," Andrea whispered. But the whispers were still heard by Alexis, making the prince furrow his eyebrows.

What was wrong with Andrea? Why did she suddenly become quieter while talking about King Ronan’s face? She said earlier that man was handsome? Maybe she saw it wrong. At the dinner that day, Alexis could clearly see the scar on the side of the man’s chin.

Alexis got up from his seat, feeling embarrassed. He walked to the balcony to watch the people leaving the Colosseum. Some of the men came home with their own quarry. Was the celebration over?
