Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 128: Ronan’s Daydreaming
"You really take good care of them," said Ronan, who was amazed to see Arielle bathing Riel cleanly. The man grabbed the basin located at the edge of Arielle’s feet and poured the warm water on Riel’s body. The rest of the soap foam and all the dirt had fallen off, leaving Riel’s small body with wet fur.
"He really looks disgusting without his fluffy fur," he commented, frowning at Riel’s shrinking body with its wet hair clinging to its skin. Arielle chuckled at the comment. She lifted Riel to her face and smiled.
"He still looks adorable in my eyes," she said.
Ronan just shrugged his shoulders, not wanting to voice his disapproval. Riel was adorable, but with its wet fur, it looked disgusting.
Arielle got up and grabbed a warm thick towel, and wrapped it around Riel’s body. After placing Riel, who was still wrapped warmly by the towel on top of the basket, Arielle turned to reach for one of the other larger rabbits.
The girl took the rabbit to the same place where she bathed Riel. Ronan was also still sitting in the same place, helping Arielle pour the soapy liquid from his special bottle.
All of the rabbits that Arielle touched did not resist at all as their bodies were poured by the steaming warm water. They were still sitting on the floor. Ronan joined in stroking their wet fur or rubbing soap to help clean them every now and then.
It felt like bathing the rabbits brought warmth to the man. Ronan felt his bond with Arielle grow stronger when the two joked about and discussed the rabbits. It was like bathing their own children.
The thought just now took Ronan by surprise. He stopped rubbing the rabbit’s body to think for a moment.
Children? Ronan had never really thought that far. Having children was not on his agenda at all... until now.
He had great worries about having children. Ronan had a dark childhood. If he had a child, then he would only pass the curse on them, that’s all he knew. And how would Ronan control the child if they had a boy? By restraining him in an iron cage until he could control his wolf side like what his father did to him?
No, Ronan didn’t want that.
Arielle would be disappointed in him.
He didn’t want Arielle to suffer because of it. He loved Arielle. He just wanted to give her a happy ending. He would not be able to see Arielle looking at him with a disappointed look. That would be tantamount to killing him.
Ronan didn’t want his son to go through the same trauma he went through.
Then.... what about Arielle? Ronan had no idea what the girl had in mind about having children. How would the girl respond when he told her he didn’t want to have children?
Ronan was experiencing an inner conflict at the moment. On the other hand, he imagined himself holding a little girl who had a beauty like Arielle. Shiny white hair with a small crown of gold and rubies adorned her head.
However, he also had great fear. What if he would unknowingly treat his children like what his father did to his sister? What if... someday he lost control of himself and killed... his daughter?
Ronan took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He noticed Arielle, who was smiling at the sullen face of the rabbit in her hands which she was cleaning.
But... wait a minute. Before discussing children, Ronan realized something.
He had not even asked Arielle to marry him. If Arielle became his wife, it meant Arielle would become the queen of Northendell. The thought of Arielle sitting on the throne beside him made Ronan’s chest puff with enthusiasm.
"What are you thinking about?" Suddenly, Arielle’s voice moved him from his reverie. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Huh?"
"You didn’t respond to my calls."
"You called me?"
Arielle smiled wryly and stretched out her hand to ask for the small basin that the man was holding. It was time to rinse off the soap and dirt from the last bunny. Ronan, who realized this immediately, took water from the pond and poured it over the rabbit’s head.
He didn’t answer Arielle’s question just now about what he was daydreaming about. The man just apologized and let Arielle clean the rest of the water from the rabbit’s body she was holding.
"They always get bathed?" asked Ronan, looking for another topic to escape his thoughts about having a family with Arielle.
"No. A rabbit doesn’t actually need a bath. A wild rabbit won’t bathe either. It’s just that these bunnies were rolling in the mud and would dirty the palace if they weren’t cleaned up soon enough."
Ronan just nodded. He watched Arielle intently as the girl stood up and dried the last bunny with the same towel, then wrapped the five of them to rest on the basket with a warm blanket.
"They are all clean. I will now return them to my room," said Arielle lifting the basket, making Ronan stop her quickly.
"Arielle! Where are you going?"
"I’m going back to my room," answered the girl, confused because the king suddenly called her in a high tone.
"But I’m not cleaned yet."
"Huh?"
"I’ve been sitting here waiting for my turn."
"Your turn?"
Ronan bobbed his head and held out his hand to ask Arielle to come closer. Arielle’s face flushed red as the man rose from the pool. Drops of water dripped from his body as he walked over to Arelle, who was still standing in her place, holding her basket.
From behind her, the man grabbed the basket in Arielle’s hand and put it back on a wooden shelf. The man had been soaking in the warm water long enough that Arielle could feel the hot steam from his body behind her.
"Eh!!!"
Arielle held Ronan’s hand quickly as the man touched the strings of her dress in front of her chest.
"Your clothes are dirty. We must immediately clean our bodies too," the man whispered right in Arielle’s ear, making the girl squirm in surprise.
Ronan smiled, seeing Arielle’s blushing face. He already knew very well about the girl’s sensitive spots.
"Hm? Help me clean my body as you did to the Riel family," he whispered in a husky voice.
