Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 342: Lazarus’ Relief
"Waaaaah... I’m relieved. Damn, I almost cried. This means that Ronan did a DNA test on me to prove that Crimson is NOT my daughter, right? and... and I can sue the woman who made my name tainted too, right?"
"Lazarus," Arielle called.
"Yes, Princess?" Lazarus answered enthusiastically.
Arielle wasn’t sure about Lazarus’ last question. Suing someone was definitely not a simple matter. At least if it was really proven that Lazarus was not Crimson’s father, for Arielle, it would be enough.
She didn’t want to be presumptuous. What Arielle wanted to know was just the exact reason why that woman left Crimson and forced Lazarus to take her child. Maybe because Arielle was already comfortable with Crimson around her. So, maybe she became biased by it.
Arielle had never been a mother before, and she wasn’t raised by her own mother either. However, Arielle knew how the mother felt because all the mothers around her would always have reasons to do certain things about their children.
"After it is proven that Crimson is not your child, meet that woman first. I hope you don’t sue her right away, Lazarus."
"Why is that?" asked Lazarus a little disapprovingly.
"Who knows? Maybe Crimson isn’t that woman’s daughter, either. We still don’t know the answer."
"No, Princess. I believe that Crimson is that woman’s daughter with Viscount Ferdi. I also have a hunch that Sasha was also her son with Viscount Ferdi in the past."
Arielle fell silent and patted Lazarus’ hand. "It’s okay if you feel that way. But the things are still unclear. And please don’t tell this to anyone yet, especially to Sasha. I don’t want him to be sad or burdened by it. After confirming everything, then we will discuss this carefully."
Lazarus hesitated for a moment. He never did anything peacefully. Maybe William could do it. The man was good at negotiating, but Lazarus was not. And Ronan sometimes agreed with what he did. However, now, Arielle asked him to take it slow and talk it over.
He didn’t know what kind of magic Arielle had because Lazarus couldn’t refuse her request. Maybe if it was Ronan, Lazarus might try to argue with him, but this was Arielle.
The only person who wanted to listen to him attentively, and also the one who made him no longer misunderstand Ronan. Of course, Lazarus couldn’t disappoint someone like Arielle.
The man pursed his lips.
"Yeah... I think that’s better too," Lazarus replied to Arielle’s relief.
"So, now we wait for the results from Priest Jill, then we discuss it again with Ronan. Can you restrain yourself, for the time being, Lazarus? Ronan said the results will come out tonight."
The man nodded slowly. "Yeah, I can," he replied in a low voice.
Arielle straightened her body, then looked at the mural of the Moon Goddess closely.
"Lazarus, I have a question. But I hope you’re not offended by my question."
"Sure, please, Princes."
"I notice you are the one who only came to visit the Cathedral the most. You are one of those people who really believe in the Moon Goddess, am I right?" Arielle asked.
Lazarus chuckled. He could understand why the princess asked such a question. Judging from his character, maybe Lazarus was a person who was far from any belief.
"Do you want a genuine answer or a generic answer that I always throw when someone asks?"
Arielle tilted her head in disbelief.
"I believe in the ancient belief that what made Northendell like this was one of the children of the Moon Goddess. Only with the power of a mother, this eternal snow curse will lift again. Thus, I want to be one of the people who pray and praise the Moon Goddess to melt this eternal snow."
"Besides that. As a sailor, the moon is the most important object for us at night. With its light, it can help us see the entire surface of the water. And It also causes tides, creating a rhythm that has guided all the sailors since ancient times. The tides helped us to find a shore."
Arielle nodded in understanding. "Then, the next answer?"
Lazarus smiled widely. "The women who visit the Cathedral are really beautiful. Now guess what my real answer is."
"Um..." Arielle looked at Lazarus from head to toes to make sure her answer was correct. She matched the man’s character to her answer.
She said, "The answer is you want to attract beautiful women who visit the Cathedral by becoming a faithful believer of the Moon Goddess who sincerely pray for the eternal snow in the North to melt?"
"Bingo!" Lazarus replied confidently.
Lazarus wasn’t that religious. He liked the Cathedral because it was the only place where he found peace. He liked crowds. Party had become his soul.
However, if he wanted to fall into a deep slumber, he would visit the Cathedral. And Lazarus also told the truth by saying that the women who visited the Cathedral were exquisite. If he was lucky, he could stay in one of their houses.
Lazarus had a home in another area, but he never visited it. He didn’t like his parents, who continued to interfere in his personal life. He preferred to stay in the palace. Spending time with William or flirting with the ladies of the capital was more fun.
"You will not go sailing again?" Arielle asked Lazarus, who sat beside her.
"Originally, I was going back after Ronan’s birthday. Then I put it off until your wedding. Now I’ve changed my mind again. I want to attend your coronation as our queen."
Arielle turned to Lazarus. The man smiled while looking at his own toes.
"Your presence is really a breath of fresh air for us. Maybe, if today you weren’t here, the misunderstandings like this still continued," Lazarus replied.
Arielle chuckled. The girl raised her hand and lightly patted Lazarus’ head several times.
"So, in the future, please become a better man," said Arielle, making Lazarus blush.
Lazarus pursed his lips.
"I’ll try, Your Highness," he replied simply.
