Arielle just laughed at it. She gently stroked Ronan’s black hair so as not to worry about the incident earlier.

Ronan tried to get closer for a kiss, but there was a knock on the door. Arielle stood up before the man could touch her lips. Ronan could only stroke his face and reach for his mask to put it back on.

After giving permission to the person who knocked on the door, the door opened, and Priest Elis entered the room. The man was surprised to see the princess had returned to the palace.

"Good afternoon, Priest Elis," Arielle greeted.

"Good afternoon, Your Highness," Priest Elis replied with a smile on his face.

Ronan cleared his throat to signal Priest Elis not to beat around the bush. Arielle also brought all the rabbits back to her room. It seemed that Ronan had important business, and Arielle didn’t want to interfere.

Ronan had sat back in his chair, waiting for Priest Elis to approach.

"What is it, Priest Elis? Don’t you have a schedule to meet Arielle later?" Ronan asked.

"That’s right, Your Majesty. I will teach Princess Arielle about some important wedding processions and some sacred vow that Princess Arielle will say."

"Then, what brought you here?"

Ronan listened to Priest Elis’ explanation attentively. He also knew about the concept of mate. He learned it when he studied about the living beings the Moon Goddess blessed with during his time at the academy. However, as Priest Elis pointed out, mate existed only in one species.

"Then? Do you mean Arielle and I have a mate bond like an animal?"

Priest Elis tried to give his hypothesis that Cecil was a human and her mate was a wolf. Thus, it was possible that the special bond the Moon Goddess gave could exist between two different species. And because Ronan had a wolf’s side, it was possible that Arielle was the mate of the wolf.

Ronan massaged his temples. He still couldn’t grasp it.

Priest Elis said earlier that Ronan should read about the marking process. And so came Ronan to that Chapter.

The marking process was the process of giving a sign of ownership to the mate. It was used to show that females who already had been marked should not be approached by other males.

Also, this marking process could only be done by two selected individuals who had a mate bond. Mate bond was usually given to the group leader.

And the marking process would open new lines of communication between the couples. Ronan also remembered that Arielle was the only one who could hear him in his wolf form.

This was getting more and more interesting. Ronan continued reading the script. He also received information about the various ways the male marked its female. He read the page where the wolf, including the mystical werewolf creature inside, bit the area between the female’s shoulder and neck.

Ronan closed the book, then let out a long sigh. He always had the urgency to bite in the same spot on Arielle’s body. When he was sick too, Ronan smelled a different scent from Arielle. A scent only Ronan could smell.

His face felt hot as red hues flickered on the man’s cheeks. Mate. Ronan changed his mind. He felt like being treated like an animal before, but after skimming through the script Priest Elis had given him, Ronan changed his mind.
