Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 474: Arielle Was Burning
Arielle woke up with a burning body. Her throat felt very dry and hurt. It felt like she wanted to scratch her neck. No, Arielle wanted to scratch her heart. The girl tried to escape, but the tie in her hands felt very tight.
What was this? Why couldn’t she move her body? Arielle had resistance to fire, but why couldn’t she withstand this heat? Sweat began to drip down the white bed sheet where she was lying.
"Arielle... Arielle... are you listening to me? Arielle!" someone shouted.
Arielle could hear it, but her ears were ringing really loud. She also couldn’t answer because her throat hurt.
Otis took an orb, which he placed on Arielle’s forehead. He also placed one each on the girl’s open palms. Arielle then gripped the two orbs very tightly, hoping she could transfer the pain.
The three orbs started to glow, making Otis smile.
"That’s right, my daughter... let out all the fire that burns your body. Extinguish the fire that burns your veins... you can certainly do it. You are strong. You are the chosen one."
Arielle was still in pain. She bit her lip until it bled. Otis immediately took a small towel and placed it between Arielle’s mouth so as not to bite her own lips.
The girl was going through a period of mana transmission. Arielle already had mana power within her body. However, when she got extra mana from outside her metabolism, it triggered the center of her body, making her body burn. There was no one who could help Arielle but herself right now.
At first, Otis planned to teach Arielle to multiply the mana in her body. Arielle’s mana was different from most other people. The girl was special. The descendants of the Moon Goddess had the destiny to restore Birwick’s heart that was taken away by Princess Cecil.
The heart of Briwick Mountain was the eternal flames. The heart belonged to Amadea, the god directly appointed by the Sun God to guard Birwick Mountain. However, the heat of the eternal flames was thousands of times hotter than the normal heat, and only the children of the Moon Goddess could penetrate it.
However, Otis was not sure that he could do it because his power was not as strong as Arielle’s. Thus, Otis planned to teach Arielle slowly. However, the circumstances said otherwise. He did not expect that the girl was burning faster than usual.
If it was like this, Arielle could not concentrate or move the flow of mana within her body. Otis didn’t know what had happened to the girl to make her have an incredible flow of mana.
Otis threw away the orb that had lit up. The orbs were filled with Arielle’s power. He replaced it with another orb and placed it in the same place.
All day long, Otis accompanied Arielle to learn to extinguish the flames in her body. They spent hundreds of orbs to channel Arielle’s power so that the girl would finally be able to sleep peacefully the next night.
Arielle woke up with a very exhausted body. Otis, who was always on guard, then prepared food for her.
"Lord Otis?"
"Ah... thank goodness. You really have extinguished your flames, Arielle," said Otis with relief.
Arielle looked around her carefully. It seemed the room was an empty room that had never been occupied. In some parts of the room, there were cobwebs.
"Drink first to quench your thirst."
Arielle drank a lot. She finished almost a basin of water out of thirst. Her throat felt as dry as a desert, and Arielle felt relief when she could feel the freshness of the water.
"Lord Otis... What exactly happened to me?" she asked curiously.
"Arielle, your body received such a large amount of mana that it exceeded your capacity. You almost got burned by it."
Otis also explained what had happened to Arielle’s body and offered Arielle to stay longer to truly master her power. He was worried that if Arielle returned in this state, it would make her body become sensitive to a little exposure of mana, and her body would burn again.
Arielle needed to learn to control her powers soon.
"Can I go back to the palace for a bit to say this to Ronan? I don’t want him to worry because I’m not back early."
"Arielle, your body is still very weak. You need to be strong first."
"But...."
Otis sat on the bed and grabbed Arielle’s fingers.
"I’ve found a way to get Northendell back to how it was before. I’ve found the coordinates of the eternal flames I’ve always been looking for. Now, it’s up to you to control your power or not, Arielle. I can’t be far from Birwick Mountain. However, Ronan will definitely be looking for you. When I sense his presence on Birwick Mountain, I will take you to meet him. Until then, you have to rest well, so we can quickly learn to control your power."
Arielle didn’t answer right away. She considered it. Her body still vaguely felt the traces of pain that were left behind. Yesterday was very painful.
And wasn’t this what Arielle wanted? Helping Ronan to return the spring to the North? Arielle looked at her palm. The hand managed to help several people come back to life. If she could be stronger, then Arielle might really be able to melt the eternal snow in the North. The girl clasped her hands determinedly.
"Lord Otis! Please teach me to control this power," said Arielle excitedly, making Otis smile.
SLAM!
Suddenly, the door to the room swung open violently, then appeared a man with red hair and a robe that was red and orange like fire. The man had yellow irises, reminding Arielle of the red dragon Lord Otis often rode on.
"Otis! Has the human come to her senses? Well, since she is the wife of Ronan D. Blackthorn, then I forbid her to stay here!" the man said, making Arielle frown in disbelief.
"Lord Otis?" called Arielle to Otis who just shook his head.
"Arielle, I’m sorry. Let me introduce you to Xieno. The Dragon Clan Chief."
"I don’t need to be introduced to such a lowly human. You, young man! Keep your promise to take her away from this castle after she regains consciousness," said the man named Xieno who then left Arielle’s room.
"Why did he call you young man, Lord Otis? That man is probably much younger than you," Arielle asked.
"He is much older than me. Over five hundred years old. We’d better listen to what he has to say before the middle-aged man gets offended."
"I HEARD YOU, YOU LITTLE SHIT! DO YOU WANT ME TO BURN YOU ALIVE, OTIS?!" Xieno’s booming scream made Arielle and Otis frown.
"I’ll explain everything after this," said Otis with a tired expression on his face.
