Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 575: Irene Want To Meet Arielle
She had to hide right away. Darui and the werewolf members were strong. Even her father, who could also turn into a wolf, was easily defeated by Darui in one attack. Irene didn’t want to go back to Birwick without her father. She must seek help right now.
Tania... where was Tania? Arielle??? Irene needed to find Arielle as quickly as possible to report that there was a strange sound in her window!
However, when Irene opened the door, a cold wind hit her without warning, causing her body to shiver instantly. She saw the palace hallway, which looked dark and scary at each end. Only a few torches stuck to the wall and lightened up the surroundings.
"Ugh... Arielle..." Irene muttered anxiously. She was getting scared when the nearby torches swayed because of the cold wind, but it didn’t go out.
She looked left and right. At the end of the hall to her left was the figure of a palace guard, but Irene was afraid it was Darui in disguise. She then huddled near one of the human statues dressed in clean armor, waiting for Aimee or Tania to pass by. She didn’t dare to call the person guarding in the hallway.
Irene’s feet were cold. The cold air in Northendell was totally different from Birwick’s. If she was cold, her father would always appear in the form of a wolf and then let her sleep in his soft and warm fur. With her night clothes, Irene felt almost frozen, but she also didn’t dare to enter her room again because of the strange sound she heard earlier.
TAP... TAP... TAP...
Then, Irene heard the sound of shoes approaching her place. She curled up even more, hoping the person couldn’t see her. She grimaced in fear. Irene prayed it wasn’t Darui. The sound of footsteps was getting closer. She instantly hid her face in fear.
"Princess?" someone called, and it made Irene look up.
"Uh..."
William, who wanted to deliver the letter from Nieverdell, then immediately crouched down to check Princess Irene’s condition.
"Princess? What are you doing here alone? Gosh... your hands are so cold. You must enter your room immediately!" said William worriedly. When he wanted to open the door to the princess’s room again, Irene immediately stood up, then pulled the man’s clothes to stop William from opening it.
"Arielle," said Irene briefly.
William furrowed his brows in confusion.
Irene was worried that the werewolf inside her room was still waiting for her to come back. Only Arielle could beat them. The kind-hearted man in front of her would only be a victim like his father. Irene didn’t want that to happen.
"You want to meet Princess Arielle?" William asked, crouching down in front of the princess.
Irene nodded slowly. William took a deep breath. The man looked at the clothes the princess was wearing then took off his coat for the little girl to wear as well as his shoes.
"Don’t let yourself get cold," William said as he helped Irene put on the coat. If he let Irene’s body get cold, tomorrow Ronan would drown him in the freezing water.
William smiled seeing the princess who was so obedient. The little girl must have been very cold. Even her cheeks were already very red, and her lips also looked pale. It reminded William of his sisters who were not at Northendell right now.
"Princess Arielle might be in her library," William said, taking Irene’s hand to come with him.
His feet felt like they were being stabbed by needles as they crossed the palace floor, which was very cold that night. However, William still put on a smile so that the princess did not feel guilty. He felt sorry for the condition of his best friend’s sister.
They arrived at the princess’s library, and William knocked a few times. Irene looked up to make sure that Arielle was there.
"Your Highness, I brought a letter from your brother," William said in a louder voice.
He frowned, then opened the door to the room after asking permission. However, he found no one in there except Ronan’s coat, which had been left on the floor.
Oh... maybe they were resting in their room, William thought. But, which room? As far as he knew, they both had many places to play, starting from Princess Arielle’s room, Ronan’s bedroom, and their special room. Hm ... could they be in the king’s office?
After knowing something like this, William usually preferred to keep the letter and give it the next morning. However, seeing Irene holding his hand tightly, hoping to meet Arielle, made William have to relent and walk to Arielle’s room.
There were two major possibilities that happened right now. Arielle might have opened the door, but with the consequence that tomorrow William would get a long lecture from Ronan because of his habit of appearing at the wrong time. Or it could be that Ronan appeared and chased them away, making Irene feel sad.
William knocked on the princess’s door first. He turned to Irene who was looking at Arielle’s bedroom door worriedly. What was really worrying the child? Did she still not trust the palace’s protection?
William and Irene waited outside in the freezing cold. His coat, which was too big on Irene’s body, was only up to the child’s knees so that her calves were still exposed to the cold air.
Huf... William was getting tired and then he knocked on the door for the second time.
"Arielle?" Irene asked him with sparkling eyes, making William couldn’t bear to say that Arielle couldn’t come out now. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
William knocked louder, but the next thing he heard was the princess’ screams. He swiftly covered Irene’s ears and dragged the child’s head to quickly get away from that place.
"Sir, is Arielle in pain? Was she attacked by people who would bring me back to Birwick?"
"Do not listen. Do not listen. Forget everything from your memory," William said as he continued to pull Irene’s head with both hands tightly, covering the child’s ears. The confused Irene followed with wobbly steps because her head was being pulled quite hard, but she couldn’t resist.
