Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 617: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)
I came face to face with Queen Alicia. It seemed that my presence was expected because when I asked to speak privately, Queen Alicia didn’t seem the least bit surprised, as if this was something she wished for.
The woman just let me sit in front of her without uttering a single word. After we sat together, I suddenly lost all my courage. Queen Alicia’s cold gaze was enough to knock me down in fear. I no longer dared to raise my voice like a while ago.
"So, what do you want to say? Did you come just to say that you are mute?"
My chest felt like it was hit by an arrow. Queen Alicia was so cold. It was very different from the woman’s warm impression when I first arrived at the palace. Then, I noticed my hands were shaking.
No, I shouldn’t be like this. I had to talk about it with her. If I kept quiet, then I could really get hurt later. And if I directly asked King Theodore for help, that man would do it the hard way. Besides, I couldn’t endure the violence in front of my eyes.
"Your Highness... can you stop all the terror happening to me?"
Queen Alicia stopped drinking her tea. She placed the white porcelain cup with the lavender flower inside it very gently on the table. The woman didn’t show her annoyance in the slightest, and it just scared me even more.
"Concubine Cecillia, are you saying that the terror you have been going through all along was my doing?" Queen Alicia asked calmly while looking straight into my eyes. I was getting nervous, and a little stuttered.
"I-I didn’t mean to accuse you."
"But. you said it like I was the culprit. Didn’t the lady-in-waiting who had been chased out by the king say that she did it because she didn’t like you? Because you are so difficult to control?"
"Your Highness... I have never-"
"Concubine Cecillia, I originally thought that we would become friends or siblings since we share one husband. But, the more I think about it, the more I realize that you don’t think the same way."
No.. That was not true... I wanted to be friends with Queen Alicia. I sincerely wanted to be friends with her because she was really nice to me when I first arrived.
"Your Highness... I would be very honored to have the chance to befriend you."
Queen Alicia shook her head as if what I just said was too late and all in vain.
"If I didn’t know your intentions, then I would have believed it easily. But, I knew your intentions, Concubine Cecilia. You slowly want to get rid of me and become a queen, right?"
Huh? My body stiffened from the shock. What did the woman say? Becoming a queen? Not even a second, I thought of something like that. I quickly shook my head because what Queen Alicia said wasn’t true. Being fed and protected like this was enough for me. How could I think of something as greedy as that?
"No, Your Highness. I have never thought like that, nor does it ever cross my mind. I have always respected you as the queen of this kingdom."
Queen Alicia got up and chuckled lightly.
"First, you will incite me and King Theodore, so the king will hate me more and he will like you more. That’s why you try to get closer to him. Concubine Cecil, please don’t be like that. I saw it with my own eyes that both of you kissed in the library."
Me? kissing with the king? When? I didn’t even remember it at all.
"If it weren’t for my father seeing you alone together in the library with the king, perhaps I would have thought you left the party because you wanted some fresh air and went to sleep. But, what did I see? A lowly concubine like you earned the king’s affection! The affection I craved since ten years ago! And what did that red bracelet mean!? You deliberately gave it to him, so everyone could see that the king trusted your lucky charm more than mine!? You slowly wanted all the attention of people directed at you, right?"
Everything Queen Alicia had just said sounded like something in a foreign language. I didn’t understand it at all. Why did she say all of it when I didn’t even think about those things at all?!
"Your Highness... none of those are true. King Theodore and I have never kissed before."
Queen Alicia burst out laughing. "If all the thieves confessed, then my husband wouldn’t have had to leave the palace to catch them long ago."
My breath felt very heavy. All these things made me more dizzy. Those accusations dulled my logic.
"How can you conclude all that without asking me directly? I have never thought about it in the slightest."
Queen Alicia grabbed her cup of hot tea and instantly spilled it right onto my face, making me scream in pain. I didn’t understand. What did I do to deserve this?
Hot ... sting ... hurt... my vision was getting blurry. I grabbed someone’s hand for help, but my hand was being thrown away.
Don’t leave me... don’t leave me alone.
Then, it was dark... my old friend... I could no longer see because of the hot tea. My face felt like it was being slashed by a sharp knife from the outside. And no one seemed to hear my screams, or maybe they didn’t listen on purpose. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

I woke up in the dark. The colors that I saw before were now completely gone. My ears heard a sob in a familiar voice.
"Concubine Cecillia... what happened to you? Why did you have to get through such a bad thing? Oh, my poor sister... Your Majesty... we must sentence the person who did this to death."
Wasn’t it you who did this to me, Your Highness Queen Alice? I wanted to raise my voice, but I knew if I spoke, the queen could do anything to me. Then, I felt a soft touch on my arm.
"I promised to find the person who did this to you, and I will not let him and his descendants live in peace."
Please, stop! Don’t do it. Do not throw fire on a haystack.
I didn’t want Queen Alicia to see your concern for me. I wanted you to let go of your hand right away, but my body couldn’t be moved. The stinging on my skin that I felt earlier was slowly getting better. I wanted... everything to go back to the way it was. Me and my life, all alone before becoming a friend with the king.
I could feel my hand being released. The king had left and someone was approaching. The person touched the bandage wrapped around my face and held it a bit harder.
"I heard the king left Biriwick untouched, huh? Hm... an interesting exchange. Birwick may slip out of the king’s hands, but you know, I have a very influential family in Northendell as well. If you reveal one word about what has happened earlier, I will make sure you never see your mother and father again."
It hurts. It really hurts...
When the wound started to not feel hurt again, Queen Alicia grabbed my face even harder. I wanted to cry and scream, but I couldn’t make a sound.
Even when Queen Alicia got tired of torturing me, I still cried silently. It hurt so much that I forgot what it felt like to breathe normally.
"Oh, Sweetheart. What did they do to you?"
That voice....
"Humans and their greed. Look what happens when you live with humans. If you are with me, I will protect you and I will not let anyone hurt you, even one fingernail will not be able to touch you."
"S-Sir...."
"Ssshhh... you are badly injured."
Someone touched the tip of my cheek gently, maybe wiping away the remaining tears that kept flowing down. Finally... the serenity, peace, and comfort were back again... I didn’t know why, but just by hearing his voice, all the pain I felt faded away without a trace.
The man opened the bandage on my face. I was powerless and let the man do whatever he wanted. If only he knew that I really wanted to meet him to apologize for breaking the promise I had made myself.
Something wet fell on my face like a drop of water. I felt a tingling sensation moving across my face. The man opened my eyelid slowly, and I held his hand.
"Don’t... don’t heal my eyes. I... don’t want to see anymore," I pleaded.
I didn’t want to see the faces of people around me that I no longer recognized. I no longer wanted to see the gleaming beauty of the palace with a lot of cruelty and violence behind it. The deception and sedition terrified me.
In Birwick, we all lived quietly even though for the last few years, my father had been changed because of the war.
Then, I heard a low growl.
"Are they so mean to you that you forget that your beautiful eyes can see the beauty of the world?"
The world wasn’t that beautiful... and I didn’t want to see it anymore.
"If you want to come with me, I will show you the beauty of the world, Cecil."
