Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 717: Keep Ronan Warm Tonight
Ronan saw the book Arielle was reading and his gaze moved to a small handkerchief with a snowdrop embroidery on it. It seemed to be the handkerchief that Irene had made. During their dinner last night, Ronan had seen Irene giving Arielle the handkerchief embroidery, but he hadn’t had a chance to see the result.
The embroidery was pretty good, but there were still some sloppy bits of thread. For beginners who were just learning once, it was good enough. Seeing his sister’s embroidery work, Ronan couldn’t wait to get it too. Irene had already asked him about the design he wanted.
Perhaps this was his sister’s talent? Like Arielle who was talented in painting, it seemed Irene had talent in embroidery. If that was the case, Ronan would provide more cloth and yarn for the child to explore herself as best as she could.
Ronan put back the handkerchief on the table and took the book Arielle was reading.
"What book did you read?"
Arielle put the teacup in front of Ronan and sat on the man’s map while looking at the opening page.
"It’s about Thebis. I just want to know a few things about Thebis and Northendell. Many say that Thebis is the best producer of silk fabrics, and I also want to know how Thebis silk can be so beautiful and soft. Besides, I want to know their history."
Ronan looked at the part marked by Arielle. A paragraph that talked of a former king who introduced Thebis silk to the entire continent using traveling merchants.
"This traveling merchant is the merchant group we saw back then, right? In the market near the Wolgast border?" Arielle asked in confirmation.
"Right, they would usually stay a few months in one place. Carrying out economic transactions, selling and buying goods in that area, and moving to other places to sell their new goods again. They do the same thing in various places."
"They don’t have a fixed place to live?" Arielle asked curiously.
"Their definite home is in Thebis. Usually, after successfully traveling around the continents or the world, they will rest for a year or two to provide trade commodities that they will carry on their next expedition."
"Oh, how about the women wearing light clothes and dancing with snakes on their bodies? They’re also part of the traveling merchant?"
"Yeah. They perform a lot of attractions to attract the attention of people around to see the goods they trade and become their potential consumers. Sometimes some new merchants will join them as well."
Ronan also explained that was one of the reasons he built the long trade route from Thebis directly to Wolgast, so they didn’t have to pass through the neutral territory. Because sometimes, in places where the crime rate was high, they were looted by bandits. However, since that area was the only route that connected directly to the three kingdoms, they were forced to pass through that area.
However, it was different right now. Since there was a route that Ronan had built through Northendell’s territory, they could cross directly into Wolgast without worrying about being looted by bandits. It also enriched Northendell because that way the economy of the people in Northendell continued to grow rapidly.
Ronan closed Arielle’s book after returning Irene’s handmade handkerchief to the page where it was put as a bookmark. Arielle, who still wanted to ask for a lot of things related to the traveling merchant, closed her mouth in surprise.
"But, I’m not here to talk about this. There’s something important you need to know, Arielle."
"Yeah?"
Arielle looked up to look directly at her husband. The man had already taken off his mask since arriving in the room. She knew the direction of Ronan’s gaze and subconsciously, she put her arm around her chest to cover the low neckline of her evening gown.
"I am cold. Didn’t you say I could visit you tonight when I was feeling cold?" Ronan asked, making Arielle move away a bit.
Arielle took a step back and sat down about an arm’s length from Ronan who quickly held his wife’s hand so as not to let her run away. Arielle couldn’t go anywhere right now.
"You were inviting me, right?"
"Yes."
"Then, be responsible. Keep me warm again."
Ronan lowered his body and rested his head on Arielle’s lap. Arielle closed her eyes, thinking that Ronan would start kissing her passionately, but it seemed all the man wanted was a warm hug.
Arielle opened her eyes again and smiled shyly because she was thinking too much. Meanwhile, Ronan was currently enjoying his time, lying on the couch while placing his head on his wife’s lap.
"I made you a cup of tea. It’s still warm. You can drink it to help increase your body temperature." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Ronan shook his head and took his wife’s hand. Arielle then released a bit of her power to warm the man, and he finally sighed in relief.
"This is what I want," Ronan muttered in relief at getting the warmth from Arielle.
After warming his body for a few minutes, Ronan opened his eyes again and looked up at Arielle who also happened to be looking at him. He reached out to caress the side of the girl’s face.
"I haven’t been able to touch you for the past few days because of our trip."
Arielle touched Ronan’s hand, which was on her cheek then smiled faintly.
"Want to move into bed?" offered the girl.
Ronan nodded, and Arielle pulled his hand to join her on the bed. His wife was much more daring than usual. Arielle also often initiated first. Her shy demeanor was still there, and that was what made her look even more adorable in his eyes.
Ronan pulled Arielle’s waist closer and pinned her down on the bed. His hands touched the girl’s thighs, stroking it a few times before parting them so that he could position himself between her open legs.
