Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 740: Horse Riding Lesson
"Is there anything you want to do? Or do you want to join them?" he asked.
Arielle thought for a moment.
"I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, but I’m worried about conveying it."
"What? Is there something you’d like to do?"
"Yes. I want to learn horse riding. It will be easier if I ride a horse than having to use a carriage all the time. Besides, now I don’t have to worry about getting a cold, right? I can warm myself too."
Ronan chuckled and looked his wife straight in the eye.
"I’m surprised you didn’t ask much earlier. I thought you’d ask about it sooner. I had seen how sparkle your eyes were when you saw Aimee riding a horse. I knew at that moment you wanted it too."
Arielle suddenly became embarrassed because she was caught wanting something but didn’t dare to convey it. She thought Ronan would forbid her because at that time the man had said that horse riding was quite a dangerous activity if she didn’t know how to do it properly.
"So, is it possible? I can do it?" asked Arielle expectantly.
"Of course. I will teach you. It’s easy," Ronan answered, making Arielle’s hopes rise as she beamed from ear to ear.
Since Arielle didn’t have a riding suit, Ronan advised his wife to wear the clothes that would allow her to move around easily. The girl then nodded excitedly before going to her room to change into lighter clothes.
While waiting for Arielle to change clothes, Ronan ordered one of the officers there to prepare a horse according to the specifications he wanted for his wife. He didn’t want a horse that was too big. It would be dangerous for Arielle. A smaller horse would be better, so the girl could control it more easily.
Arielle rushed down the stairs and thanked the maids who had tidied up the house, as well as the rest of the dining table. Then, she could see Ronan was already standing in his lighter all-black clothes. The neck as well as the sleeves of his jacket were covered with fleece to keep his body warm.
Ronan then invited Arielle to go down the hill. Arielle looked back at the sea, and she could see more clearly that several ships were in the middle of the sea looking for fish. It was a sight that Arielle had never seen before, and that made her know more things.
Below the hill, two palace knights were waiting on two horses. Arielle recognized that the black horse belonged to her husband and beside it was a smaller brown horse. Its body glistened beautifully. The horse must have been very well cared for, thought Arielle.
On top of the brown horse were some riding equipment, which was usually used for beginners, while Ronan didn’t have it because the man could control his horse better.
"We will learn horse riding in this place??" Arielle asked as her gaze swept around the area.
"Certainly not. There are many people passing by, we will definitely disturb their activities. We’ll go out to a place that I know is suitable for learning horse riding," replied Ronan with a gentle smile on his lips.
Arielle approached the horse and greeted it like a friend meeting for the first time.
"Will it be my horse?" she asked.
"If you like it, we can make it yours. Right now, it is just a horse in the stable. The most docile one in this place."
Ronan could see that his wife looked hesitant to touch the horse. He took Arielle’s hand and placed it on the mane of the brown horse. The horse neighed softly, making the girl giggle.
"It’s so adorable," said Arielle while touching the horse’s mane, which was so soft.
"It likes you." Ronan nodded confidently.
"Oh, really? Is it true?" Arielle asked back, not believing what she was hearing.
Ronan just smiled. Why was Arielle so surprised? Shouldn’t it be natural for all animals to like her? Ronan had seen with his own eyes how the girl interacted with various kinds of animals, and none of them attacked her fiercely.
Ronan then remembered Princess Cecillia’s memoir. Was it because Arielle was a descendant of Princess Cecillia? Wasn’t it written in the memoir that Princess Cecillia was a person who really cared about Birwick’s creatures? ’Yeah ... perhaps it could be like that,’ thought Ronan.
"Want to try riding it?" he asked.
Arielle nodded and let Ronan teach her to ride the horse.
Ronan asked Arielle to hold the handle of the horse’s saddle while placing her left foot on the footrest. He then held Arielle’s waist while telling his wife to raise her right leg. Arielle did well on her first try.
Ronan stepped back without releasing the horse’s reins to see his wife’s posture and then nodded in satisfaction.
"Perfect." His comment made Arielle clap her hands happily.
"Did I do well?"
"Yes, you’re doing great."
Arielle then stroked the horse’s mane from above. She thanked it for holding her weight and still standing in place very well.
"Okay, then shall we go?" Ronan asked in confirmation.
"Yup! I’m ready!" answered Arielle enthusiastically.
The two of them were currently not in the palace. They were in an open place where many people, men, women, children, as well as parents of family members of the marine troops passed by.
The people around realized that by the hillside steps leading to Admiral Lazarus’ house was their king and queen. They could only look from afar and make a fuss with their neighbors because they had never seen the queen and king up this close. If it was the king, they might have seen him because the man had visited this place several times. However, since the day of the coronation, this was the first time they had ever seen their queen up close.
No one knew what those people really thought. Some looked amazed while the others looked wondered. Since they were family members of the marine troops and some of them were from the aristocratic group, they couldn’t quite believe what they were seeing. Their queen looked so young... and incompetent.
In the eyes of lowly nobles like them, Arielle looked like an innocent girl. They wondered whether a woman like that could accompany a great king like King Ronan?
