Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 752: Back To The Capital
The sun started to disappear on the western horizon and peeked at the end of the equator, illuminating the darkening part of the Northendell sky. Arielle had put on the thickest coat she had, and Ronan did the same.
"Are you sure you will return to the palace with just the two of you? Don’t you need extra guards? William can go with you. Kael and I will accompany Princess Irene for sailing tomorrow morning."
Ronan helped Arielle to get on her horse.
"There’s nothing for you to worry about. I will protect my wife well. Besides, I don’t want to ruin your vacation. Enjoy it while you can because maybe this will be your last vacation before returning to the capital," Ronan said, making Arielle laugh.
"Arielle, didn’t you say that you wanted to see the sea more closely?" asked Irene, who still didn’t want Arielle to go because sailing in the sea was their dream. It wasn’t only Irene who wanted to do it. If Arielle didn’t come with them, then it would surely feel different.
"I do want to take a closer look at the sea. But for me, this is enough. I have something more urgent to do, so enjoy your vacation. Don’t mind me, I can come back to this place whenever I want. If next month I have time, maybe I will visit this place again. Isn’t that right, Lazarus?" asked Arielle to the man with long blonde hair standing behind Irene.
"Of course, Your Majesty. You are the queen of this kingdom. There’s no place that you can’t visit. This base is also yours. Just tell me whenever you want to visit this place, and I will prepare everything," replied Lazarus sincerely, making Arielle smile.
"Then, we’ll leave first. I don’t want us to reach the next town in the middle of the night," Ronan interrupted after he got on his horse.
Everyone waved to Arielle. Aimee was still worried upon seeing Arielle ride a horse all by herself. She was sure that Ronan would protect Arielle, but ... the queen had only learned to ride today, and it would take a long time to reach the capital. What if Arielle got tired in the middle of their journey?
After Arielle and Ronan left the naval base, they climbed the hill paved with stone to go back to Lazarus’ house to rest early because tomorrow morning they would board the ship. For Lazarus, as well as William, this was an opportunity to relax a little because there wouldn’t be Ronan or Arielle to monitor them.
Of course, Aimee and Kael were there to look after the two troublemakers.
Ronan rode his horse beside Arielle at medium speed. Arielle started to feel cold from the night wind. She then released a bit of her power to warm herself. Ronan was never far from her. Several times, the man asked about her condition, and Arielle answered him with the same answer.
"I’m fine. I can still go on, Ronan," answered Arielle who was starting to feel annoyed because almost every half hour the man would ask her about her body condition.
They had left the port city, and the streets were getting dark. They could only follow the direction of the lights that connected the road between the two cities because there was no moon illuminating their view.
After riding for more than three hours, they found another small town. Ronan then looked for an inn for them to stay the night. After entering their room, Ronan took off all his clothes and hugged Arielle to ask to be warmed. Both of them rested, waiting for the morning to come by sharing warmth.
Morning arrived. They had a simple breakfast in the inn and didn’t forget to buy other food to take with them. Arielle felt refreshed, and so did Ronan. However, that morning the snow was pouring hard, making the pile of snow on the ground much thicker than before.
Ronan had to ask Arielle to stop to find shelter because he knew that a blizzard was coming. After looking for a while, both of them finally found a cave in the middle of the hills. Ronan gathered wood from some nearby trees, then Arielle ignited a flame with her power. The snow that stuck to their clothes melted due to the flame that she had ignited.
Arielle divided the cold sandwich into two portions. One part was for herself and the rest was for Ronan.
"It’s a hard journey, isn’t it?" asked Ronan to Arielle who was leaning in his arms while waiting for the blizzard to die down. Their two horses were also resting after being fed so they wouldn’t get tired.
"Yeah. This is something new for me, but it feels good. When Kael and the others go camping, do they do this all the time?"
"Yeah, but sometimes they would set a tent and sleep under the blizzard. They didn’t stay at the inn like we did."
"Oh ... it’s no wonder that Sasha, who had joined Kael, immediately got sick later on," replied Arielle.
Ronan looked towards the mouth of the cave and saw a rabbit hopping. Both of them watched the rabbit silently staring at them, then left, hopping its legs again into the blizzard. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"It reminds me of Riel," said Ronan after seeing the rabbit left.
"Yeah. Riel is now very chubby. I rarely played with it because I was too busy, and I was surprised to see it got so chubby when Irene played with it."
Ronan chuckled upon remembering how cute the white fur animals were. He used to really hate them. He always ordered his guards to sterilize the palace from any animals. He didn’t have pets like other nobles, as he was afraid he would lunge at them when he couldn’t control the curse on his body on a full moon night.
However, Arielle slowly made him able to see the other side of those little animals. The girl gave them kindness. Ronan always felt flattered when Arielle treated all the animals she met with love and affection.
Perhaps because part of him had an animal side, so he also wanted to get those loves and affection at that time. Now he had got them.
"This blizzard seems to be very long," said Arielle while looking outside where half of the mouth of the cave was covered with snow.
