Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 755: Maxieno Keep His Mouth Shut
Arielle woke up in an unfamiliar place. She felt she had been in this place, but she didn’t remember it clearly. The whole room was just white. An endless white. Arielle straightened her back and found a man sitting on a throne.
His red hair was longer than Arielle could last remember, and a red snowdrop pendant necklace hung around his neck.
"Stupid human. Who told you how to get in here?" asked Maxineo in a cold tone.
The man looked down on Arielle like he was a king who was looking down on a peasant.
Arielle looked at her hand that didn’t have any wounds even though she remembered she had cut it.
"Was this an accident? You were trying to kill yourself, huh? Is your life that miserable? As expected, what exactly do you wish for returning to the human world? Come back to Birwick and be my servant in place of Otis."
Arielle looked Maxieno straight in the eye. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"I did it. I managed to call you Maxieno?" Arielle asked enthusiastically.
"Tsk. stupid human. Then come back. I’m too busy to give my precious time to a lowly human like you."
"Maxieno, wait a minute!" shouted Arielle in a hurry.
Maxieno still sat in his place. He waited for Arielle to speak again.
"About Mera... your father. Can I ask you about him?"
Maxieno’s brow twitched. His jaw clenched as his hands gripped the armrests on his throne tightly.
"What do you want to know about him?" Maxieno asked flatly.
Although Maxieno’s tone was cold, Arielle could feel that the man didn’t like it when she mentioned his father’s name. Maxieno sounded colder than usual.
"I have obtained the memoir of Princess Cecillia from the dragon clan of Thebis. It’s ... written about your father too. Princess Cecillia wrote down that Mera and his mate were Princess Cecillia’s friends. However, at the end, the dragon clan... betrayed Amadea by telling the humans whereabouts of Princess Cecillia, right?"
Maxieno just kept quiet in his place. He looked at Arielle with disinterested eyes.
"Maxieno, do you know anything about the story behind that? As a friend, Mera couldn’t possibly betray Princess Cecillia, right? Also... also about how Amadea protected Birwick in his last time before turning all of Northendell into a snowy land, did Mera ever tell you about what Amadea did until Northendell lost its sun?"
Maxieno didn’t answer any of Arielle’s questions. He just looked at the girl while keeping his mouth shut. Then, slowly but surely, the existence of the man faded away.
"Maxieno! Do not go yet! You have not answered my question! Maxienooo!!!!"
Maxieno disappeared completely.
"I will come back and call you again!" Arielle shouted before her consciousness returned.
"Ah ... ha ... huff... huff..."
Arielle woke up with a short breath.
"Arielle, you’ve come back to your senses?" asked Ronan, who had been holding Arielle’s hand, hoping that his wife would regain consciousness soon.
Arielle had been unconscious for more than five hours, but strangely the wound on her hand disappeared immediately and left no trace. The doctor also said that Arielle’s body condition was stable, but Priest Elis said that the mana inside her body was currently swirling fiercely.
Lucas and Tania had prepared ice to cool Queen Arielle’s body if needed. However, none of that was needed because Priest Elis could still do it himself. Arielle’s heat this time was different from that time.
"I managed to meet Maxieno," said Arielle after calming her breath.
Ronan gave Arielle a glass of water so she could get a hold of herself before telling him anything. After relieving her dry throat, the girl told him what had happened to her.
"I managed to meet Maxieno. The place was all white like it was endless, but I could see Maxieno sitting on a throne that looked almost like one at the Birwick Castle. I asked him about Mera and the last incident before Amadea sealed Birwick into another dimension, as well before Northendell turned into a land of snow."
"Then, what’s his answer?"
"Maxieno didn’t answer any of my questions. He kept his mouth tightly and then just disappeared without giving me a word."
Ronan growled in annoyance. The dragon could always make him angry. How dared that flaming lizard gave such a disrespectful attitude to Arielle? Arielle was the queen of Northendell and Birwick Mountain was still in Northendell’s territory.
If Ronan met the dragon, then he would make the damn dragon meet his damn brother in the afterlife.
"I’ll see him again tomorrow."
"In what way?" Ronan asked with a frown.
"In the same way," answered Arielle with a smile. She raised her hand, showing the part of her hand that was smooth again without any remaining wounds there.
"No. Is there really no other way? Why don’t you just grab the key from Maxieno to get to Birwick?" Ronan asked, showing his disapproval of his wife’s plan.
If Arielle used the same method, then it meant she had to keep hurting her hand until Maxieno opened his mouth to tell her what had happened in the past. He couldn’t let his wife get hurt everyday just to get information from that damn dragon.
They just needed to wait another two months. The invitation letter from Princess Zohra would definitely come, and they could make plans after that. They had to meet the Thebis dragons first. Hopefully, they could be more cooperating than the dragons of Birwick Mountain.
"But Ronan, we also need to know what happened at Birwick. We don’t know what happened after Princess Cecillia ran away from Birwick. The only thing that connects us to the past is Maxieno now. The son of Mera."
Ronan still disagreed. It took a long time to convince the man because neither of them wanted to give in to the other. For the first time, Ronan and Arielle slept with their backs to each other.
Arielle was sure that if she found out what happened to Birwick after Princess Cecillia left, they could get some crucial information. They just needed to get Maxieno to open his mouth.
From Maxieno’s silent attitude without showing the slightest bit of interest, Arielle knew that the man was keeping something and would never want to share it with her.
