Chapter 142: Chapter 143: No More Mercy 1

Above the trees, he moved like a ghost. To describe it more accurately, he was more like a shadow that completely blended into the darkness.

He then noticed the man getting out of the car after parking it beside another vehicle.

Taking a closer look, Jeff could tell that the car was stolen as well.

After that, the man went inside an abandoned factory. Jeff couldn’t help but feel puzzled, since in almost every movie, criminals always hid in factories.

"I really wonder why they never get caught, or maybe the police just aren’t good enough," he muttered before disappearing from his spot and silently trailing behind the man.

He didn’t make a sound as they entered through the factory’s entrance.

After moving deeper inside and reaching the center of the place, he saw a small group of people gathered there.

"Hey Luis, how is it?" asked a man who was playing cards at a table, joined by two others.

"I’m starting to wonder if our employer, Bernard, was right. Looking at that kid, he doesn’t seem special at all," Luis said as he walked over to an icebox, took out a bottle of beer, and drank from it.

"Care to elaborate?" asked the man as he threw down a king of spades while the others picked up their cards and continued the game.

"Well, if you were with me and saw that kid yourself, you’d say the same thing. He really doesn’t look special at all. He’s supposed to be a warrior, and a young one at that. It’s pretty hard to believe, considering most of the people we’ve met were already twenty or older, while that kid looks like he’s still in his diapers," he said before taking another long drink from his beer.

Jeff who was quietly listening from his hiding spot, felt his anger flare up.

Hearing them treat him like a child and even a baby, filled him with fury.

"Hmm, really?" the man replied, while the other two glanced at him, waiting for his response.

"Yes, he looks handsome, but to me he seems like a pussy or a sissy to be precise. I honestly thought he’d look tougher in real life compared to the photo we have, but he looks more like a girl," Luis said, venting his frustration and jealousy toward Jeff.

Hearing how inappropriate his words were, the three men exchanged puzzled looks, wondering what had made him so angry to comment on something like this.

"If big brother had not ordered me to go home early, I would have already made a move," he said after chugging the entire bottle and wiping his lips.

"Well if you ask me, big brother made the right choice. Sissy or not, he is still a force to be reckoned with. You can clearly see what happened to the employers, right? They ganged up on a kid and still lost. So if you were to engage early on, it will not be a surprised that you would be taken out with a single blow if you had rushed in," the other man said as he laid all his cards on the table.

Hearing this compliment from the enemy side, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride that someone was able to acknowledge his strength.

"Tong-its," the same man at the table declared, causing the other two to sigh in frustration.

"That’s our third loss in a row," the first man said.

"Yeah, luck really isn’t on our side today," the second one added.

"Hmph, that is because those street thugs are useless. I can hardly believe that he is a mercenary and still lost to a kid who has not even grown any hair yet. If brute force does not work, just bring a gun. It is that simple." As he then showed his gun for everyone to see.

"So if that kid appears in front of me, a single bullet will be enough to send him to his maker," the man said as cruelly.

Hearing that, the others did not argue any further the same as the man.

Because it was too true to be disputable. No matter how strong they were, they could not defend themselves against a gun.

They had met many warriors and killed many of them. If they had not been drugged and captured by the police, they would still be out committing crimes.

Because their threat level is high, they undergo a prisoner transfer which is a godly opportunity.

With the sudden arrival of there big brother he alone wiped out an entire unit of police officers during the transfer.

That cruel massacre enraged the police and now the authorities are pouring every available resource into hunting them.

If they are ever captured, they will face the death penalty.

So with that the group keeps moving, and the best solution of it all is to stay away in this country since they are greatly wanted.

The knowledge that death awaits if the law catches up to them makes them shiver.

This would not have come to this point if their crimes had been only the usual killing and looting.

What pushed everything over the edge was how high profile their latest actions were.

The story of killing those police officers reached the media, and because the reputation of the government was put on the line, the authorities were needed to restore public trust and bring justice to the victims.

So now leaving the country is their only real option. After they finish the mission, they plan to start over, recruit forces, and rebuild their operation elsewhere.

Before they could continue talking, a voice came from the dark corner of the room.

A leg stepped out from the shadows, followed by the rest of a figure.

It was a teenager, a handsome one, standing calmly with his hands in his pockets as he looked at them.

"Can you say that to my face, about how I’m going to meet my maker?" Jeff asked in a calm tone.

Inside however he was screaming, "Damn, did I do that right? I was so cool just now!"

His eyes sparkled with excitement in his thoughts, but on the outside he remained composed, wearing a blank expression.

"Huh? Where did this kid come from?" The two men who had been playing cards stood up, irritated not only by their losing streak but also by the fact that some kid had the nerve to trespass and act so casually in front of them.

That kind of confidence should have belonged to them, not him.

But before they could rush toward Jeff, the man who had been winning stopped them.

His eyes narrowed as he studied Jeff closely.

"This is strange. I’m always alert to my surroundings that even elite assassins can’t sneak past me. So how did this kid manage to get in without me noticing?" he said, his expression growing serious as he continued to stare at Jeff.

Throughout his entire career, this was the first time he had ever felt like the prey.

When Luis heard what he said, he turned to look and saw that it was indeed the kid standing there.
