Lunar Awakening-Chapter 78: Full House (1)
Standing in the door way was Cassandra Hearth as beautiful and striking as always, she mostly looked the same except she wore a simple white shirt and dark jeans. The simple wear she had on made her look more beautiful than she had ever been.
"Cassy? What the hell are you doing here." Leo asked after shaking himself back to reality.
Cassandra opened her mouth to speak but then paused for a bit before saying. "Won’t you invite me in, Leonardo."
Leo hesitated, not because he was sceptical of letting her in but much largely due to the fact that whenever he met Cassandra, it usually ended with him getting hurt. "I asked a question first." He asked much bolder.
Cassandra’s cold gaze remained fixated on the inside of the building for several short seconds, it was near impossible to see what she felt through her eyes. Eventually she spoke, "I had a premonition you would die, I guess I came too soon then."
Leo did not know which one rattled him more, the fact that she had somehow predicted his death or the fact that she had such an ability to do such a thing. That open another web of questions he did not want to answer now. "Premonition?" He asked, trying to pry further to see if he could know more. But she kept quiet.
"I’m sorry to impose but I haven’t really eaten anything this morning." She said in a cold tone.
Leo responded almost immediately, "You haven’t eaten, or you haven’t really eaten?" She said nothing and instead stared daggers at him, he eventually gave up and sighed heavily. "Fine, just come in." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
He led her into the house they once played in as children unsure if she has any memories prior to that time. For now he chose to believe that that once sweet friendship had expired and now she was merely an obligatory ally.
He led her to the dining room to find everyone still eating their meals, Roxy it seemed had gone a long way and was practically having seconds when they spotted them.
Jonas was the first to actually notice them. "Oh isn’t that little Ms Hearth, my you have grown."
Trish said between a mouthful of food. "Do I know you, cause you look kinda familiar."
Leo locked eyes with Roxy who was looking at Cassandra with a strange glare, he felt his inners tightened. ’Oh please, don’t cause a scene.’ He really hoped that would be the case but the moment he watched Roxy open her mouth, her knew it was far too late.
"Who’s the ugly cunt over here?" She started.
Leo looked to his side to see how Cassandra would react, to his surprise she seemed to have an invisible shield of armour that protected her from Roxy much annoying sarcasms.
"Mr Hall, how have you been." She faced Jonas and the Trish, "You’ve grown."
Roxy did not take the insult lightly as she lashed out like a wild boat, "What the hell, you have no business here so leave."
Cassandra tilted her head slightly to the side and stared at Roxy. "Leonardo, who is this?"
Roxy glanced over at Leo as if she expected him to say something stupid. He simply shrugged indifferently and gestured for Cassandra to seat as she served her a plate of food. "She’s my unruly partner."
Cassandra looked up at him from a defying angle, he could see her thin neck and feminine shoulder causing him to gulp down and look away. "You have a partner, why?" Her tone was dripping with denial that made Leo cough violently.
"What do you mean why, I’m allowed to have partners aren’t I?" Leo said as he slipped back into his seat right next to her, he looked to his side to catch glimpses of a pained look in her eyes. He wondered what part had offended her, "Go one, eat. I swear it’s not poisoned."
He saw her lips curled slightly but vanished almost immediately. ’Did she just, nah it couldn’t have been.’
Trish finished her meal a bit later and then faced her brother and then letting her eyes drift to the beautiful young woman who ate silently. She compared the two beauties in the room happy to see new faces for once in their house. "You are an old friend of my brother’s right?"
Cassandra responded after a moments hesitation, "Somewhat."
"Well, this is my brother’s girlfriend." Trish said after a bit.
Her sudden announcement caused the three awakened to choke up on their food as they coughed violently. Leo pounded on his chest trying not to choke to death, ’Why would you drop it like that Trish?’
It was then he noticed that Cassandra had showed the same reaction, he asked himself why. Then Roxy gulped down a cup of water and laughed so hard her eyes watered. "Who on earth would want to be a love interest to a goon—"
Before Roxy finished however Leo leapt the breadth of the table and pounced on her, knocking them both to the ground with a loud thud. "Shut up you witch!" He cupped his hand around her mouth trying to desperately force the words back in. "This is a family dinner."
Roxy giggled as she threw him off her with relative ease, "Didn’t you hear your sister, we’re practically family now."
Leo groaned loudly but it came out as a loud growl causing everyone to stare at him oddly. A wave of embarrassment flooded his senses. "Someone body kill me now."
A knock sounded on that door in that moment saving Leo from more embarrassment, he quickly climbed up to his feet and ran to the door leaving the rest of them on utter silence.
Roxy climbed to her feet with a smile on her face.
Cassandra looked up from her meal and locked eyes with Roxy and spoke in a cold tone. "So, how did you two meet?"
As Leo reached the door he pulled it open to see another unlikely face.
"Yo bro, sorry for just dropping in uninvited." Can a charismatic powerful voice.
Leo’s eyes widened for a bit, "Kevin?"
