Chapter 31 -29: Spirit Fox Searches for Herbs

Qin Qin’s gaze watched the Spirit Fox not far away, wagging its tail with some anxiety as it stared at her as if thinking she had not understood. In its agitation, the Spirit Fox frantically gestured on the spot.

Qin Qin hesitated for a moment, then took steps forward. The Spirit Fox grinned and leaped ahead, running while waiting for Qin Qin as if scared she would fall behind.

Qin Qin followed the Spirit Fox at an unhurried pace, only to discover that along this little one’s path, there were actually many aged herbs. Qin Qin happily and unceremoniously picked these herbs and threw them into her space.

About 40 minutes later, Qin Qin had gathered hundreds of different herbs and finally nodded in satisfaction.

“Squeak squeak…” The Spirit Fox ahead, seeing that Qin Qin had not followed, quickly scratched its head impatiently and pointed somewhere not too far away with its paw.

Qin Qin followed its beastly paw, her gaze narrowing as she hurried over, only to twitch at the edge of her mouth at the sight of a big patch of Ginseng as well as numerous Lingzhi mushrooms by the trees, all of which were of significant age!

Hah, had she stumbled upon incredible luck? Was this place a gathering point for precious items?

Ginseng, Lingzhi, Cordyceps, Salvia, Saffron…

As well as a bunch of common yet indispensable herbs for traditional medicine, such as Cassia Seed, Dandelion, Prunella Vulgaris, Millettia Speciosa Champ…

And not far from this group of herbs, she even found a small thicket of Wild Tea Trees. Without hesitation, Qin Qin directly collected the tea trees into her space.

Two hours later, Qin Qin wiped the sweat from her forehead and looked at the remaining herbs on the ground, showing a satisfied smile.

In these two hours, she had thrown most of the herbs into her space, keeping Xiao Fong busy as well, and she even thought she heard Xiao Fong muttering some complaints.

The Spirit Fox had been watching Qin Qin, and seeing that her possessions had vanished, it anxiously circled around her. Qin Qin smiled and took out two bunches of grapes from her space, throwing them to the Spirit Fox, “Little one, don’t worry, those things have just been hidden by me. Treat these grapes as your reward!”

Thanks to this little one, she had easily found so many things on this trip, even more than she had expected.

But seeing the way the herbs had been dug up by beast claws, she guessed that this little one probably fed on these natural treasures on a regular basis, which was why it had developed Spiritual Intelligence at such a young age. So she didn’t dig everything up, leaving a little for the little one.

Seeing the little creature enjoying its treat, Qin Qin got up, ready to leave.

Noticing Qin Qin’s departure, the Spirit Fox lifted its head, dropped the grapes, and cautiously followed her.

It wanted to follow her, it liked her!

Half an hour later, Qin Qin’s forehead was lined with black lines; she had considered many things but had never imagined she would get lost. Getting lost in these deep and thick woods was not a trivial matter.

She looked up at the sun above her head, took out her mobile phone to check the time, and saw it was a quarter past four in the afternoon.

Feeling somewhat tired, Qin Qin sat down on a large stone beside her to rest for a while, but suddenly noticed three men running over from not too far away.

Qin Qin narrowed her eyes, getting ready to leave, only to realize the three men had already spotted her.

“Yo, who would’ve thought we’d encounter a beauty in these deep old woods?!” One of them, a man with a scar on his face, leered at Qin Qin and made to approach her but was stopped by another man.

“Old Three! Don’t go over there yet!” The one who stopped Old Three was a man with a rather refined look but a cunning expression, the second oldest of the three.

The second one sized up Qin Qin. “If a girl can show up here at Luoyun Mountain alone, she must be no ordinary person. Third brother, don’t you go over there.”

After speaking, the second one warily pulled out his gun and aimed it at Qin Qin.

Qin Qin’s eyes darkened, and an icy aura emanated from her.

“Hey, come on, second brother, isn’t finding a beauty in these mountains just what we need to satiate our cravings? I haven’t touched a woman in ages!” The third one blocked the second one’s gun, eager to taste the charms of this beauty. Perhaps she got separated and accidentally wandered into Luoyun Mountain. It couldn’t be as complicated as the second one was making it out to be. Just look at the delicate appearance of that beauty; does she look formidable?

“You… pull yourself together.” The second one was somewhat frustrated, like iron not becoming steel. Didn’t the third one have any sense of crisis? They were on the run, not on a leisurely outing.

“What do you mean I’m not lucid? I am very lucid.” The third one retorted, hating the implication from the second one that he was useless.

“Enough, shut up! Are you still bickering now? It is a bit strange for this girl to show up here, but I, Black Panther, am certainly not afraid of a woman!”

The oldest of the three, Black Panther, coldly said, lifting the corners of his lips.

The recent days had been stifling for him, and he had been itching for a chance to vent his frustrations. Now there was a woman, perfect. It was as if heaven sent her just for his amusement.

“Well said, boss. Are we three grown men going to be scared of a woman?” The third one laughed heartily, stuffing his gun into his pocket before eagerly rubbing his hands and moving forward.

The second one clenched his teeth, casting a wary look around. Noticing that the only sound was the wind, his guarded heart finally relaxed a bit.

He hadn’t expected to encounter such a prime girl! She was like a gift from heaven to them!

Qin Qin sat on a rock without moving, her cold gaze fixed on the third one. As she watched his outstretched hand, she felt an urge to disable him, but now was not the time for impulsiveness.

All of these men had guns; with her current abilities, she needed to wait for the right moment to secure a victory.

Seeing that Qin Qin didn’t resist, the third one revealed a contented smile. Just as his hands reached out to her, a white shadow dashed by, leaving a streak of white light. The third one felt something slash fiercely across his hands, the pain making him instinctively fling away the white shadow.

“What the hell was that?”

The third one glanced at his hands, red and gory with bones visible, and he wailed from the intense pain.

The white shadow, struck hard by the third one, hit the ground, rolled a few times, and made a mournful sound.

Qin Qin’s eyes narrowed as she stood up, picking up the small creature from the ground and checking it over. Fortunately, it was okay.

Holding the Spirit Fox tightly, Qin Qin hadn’t expected the little animal would actually save her. Even knowing these men were no easy opponents, it had still taken action. The foolhardy little creature.

Inside the space, Xiao Fong watched the Spirit Fox nestled in Qin Qin’s arms and rolled her eyes.

Alright, since you saved the master, I’ll allow you to stay in master’s embrace!

The Spirit Fox, pitifully clinging to Qin Qin, made squeaking noises, its paw occasionally scratching at Qin Qin, as if it were complaining about being hurt by them.

Qin Qin stroked the Spirit Fox in her arms. “There, there, I know what you’ve been through, and I will help you get revenge!”
