Mage Manual-Chapter 1438 - 1049: The Witch Is Afraid
"We will definitely return to Evangelism."
Ash gave a definite reply, "But it might not be our next stop, and we may not stay long."
Diya was unconvinced, "Why! I can definitely protect you guys in Evangelism!"
"Precisely because you can protect us." Ash crouched down and rubbed the Witch’s little head, "The Sword Maiden and the others definitely don’t want to live within your sphere of influence, they don’t need your protection... Also, once Dazzling Star notices your little actions, I doubt she would consider the billions of souls in Evangelism."
"But—"
"I know, I understand." Ash reached out and hugged her, "You don’t care about the Kingdom of Gospel, you just want to use it to please me... You did it, I’m very happy that you and Hanna can steadily push social reform, you’re already a competent Empress."
Diya felt happy yet somewhat puzzled, "How do you know Hanna is in charge of the reforms? Did I mention it to you before?"
"I guess so." Ash quickly brushed past the detail, "Evangelism is already yours, so I don’t want to ruin it for my own reasons. Witch, don’t rush, I just want to tell you... Evangelism is also my home."
"Wouldn’t it be better to hide in other kingdoms first and settle in Evangelism when everything calms down? By then, I won’t feel like doing anything, just rely on Queen Lissdia to keep me."
Diya looked at him suspiciously, "I always feel like you’re fooling me."
Strangely, I could deceive her before... Ash blinked his sincere eyes, "But that’s really what I think."
"But that’s not good compensation, we don’t know when it will be realized, I want to change it."
"Okay, change to what?"
Dong~
With a sound of ethereal clock chime, Ash felt the person in his arms quickly grow up, suddenly reaching the point where she could pin him down on the carpet. The Witch with tumultuous hair crawled around him like a snake and looked at him with a giggle, "Liss just ate and went to sleep~"
"You spent the whole day on a date with the Sword Maiden, I was observing you with the Divine Being from Gospel and almost died of anger." She slightly bit her lip, her hands pinching Ash’s cheeks, "If you don’t compensate me properly, I’m going to lose it~"
"How should I compensate you?" Ash raised his eyebrows, "Like in the dream?"
"What dream?" Diya feigned ignorance, "I don’t know~ But you can try?"
Pa!
The Witch suddenly shivered, straightening her back, rubbing her bottom, tearfully looking at Ash as he stood up. Ash said irritably, "Enough of the drama, not to mention everyone is here, if Liss wakes up, I won’t be a person anymore. Be good, instead of this, from now on, if you kick me off the bed, I won’t hold it against you, just treat it as compensation."
He continued searching the wardrobe and suddenly his eyes lit up, "Seems like it’s this outfit..."
Diya’s face reddened to her ears, pouting as she stared at his back. Saying enough of the drama, yet you stir up my interest, surely you know my most sensitive part, plus it was Liss who kicked you, not me, what kind of compensation is this!
"I’m going to change clothes, Witch you—"
Swish!
Silk threads effortlessly pierced Ash’s spine, spreading the Miracle along the central nervous system to fully take control of his soul body. Diya reached out to take the clothes from Ash’s hand, leisurely saying, "I remembered from your displayed memory, wasn’t Igula the one helping you change clothes? If you’re going to change clothes, you should let me do it."
Because everyone was displeased that only Vishi saw Ash’s memory, eventually a special movie viewing solely of Ash’s life was arranged for everyone. During the viewing that let Vishi see it before didn’t feel much, but while watching together, the intense shame made Ash wish he could dig a hole to hide in.
Ash recalled for a moment, indeed Igula helped him change clothes, considering Felix’s attire was quite troublesome to don.
"But why are you controlling my body?"
"Because you’re biased towards the Sword Maiden, so I want to bite you, first controlling you so you don’t make a move." Diya removed his jacket, while undoing his buttons she looked at him, "If you dare resist, I’ll surely get angry."
Alright, if this would get her to calm down... Wait no!
Ash looked downward, "I swear Igula definitely did not help me take off pants!"
"You’re so annoying, I’m not doing anything, just looking for the right part." The Witch spoke with action, promptly helping him put on new pants, fastening his belt first before lightly biting the zipper, pulling it up with a swish.
Then the Witch dressed him in a new shirt, continuing to use her tongue and teeth, slowly buttoning up his shirt. Ash actually found it quite difficult to distinguish between Diya, White Queen, Black Butler, and Red Death Cultist as they often interchangeably merge each other, but he was certain now the Black Butler was the dominant personality!
The whole process the Witch stayed close to him, gentle fabric rubbing against each other, her shapely soul body pressing contours onto him. Once the Witch fastened the top button with her teeth, she saw Ash pursing his lips mildly flushed.
"You hit me first." The Witch lightly bit his earlobe, warm breath blew against his ear, "Don’t blame me for biting you~"
You stirred up my interest, now I’ll leave you no peace!
Click.
Hearing the sound of the key turning behind him, Diya instantly moved aside and retrieved the silk Miracle, heart pounding as she looked toward the Sword Maiden entering the room.
Done for!
Of all things, I got caught breaking the rules by the Sword Maiden!
Yes, although it was never written down, after a week of settling in, the four of them had implicitly formed a rule: when everyone is present, don’t do anything out of line. Daily interactions are okay, but kissing and anything beyond that is not allowed.
Firstly, vying for favor is so embarrassing. Even though they like Ash, it absolutely does not equate to revering him as a supreme ruler, and besides, it just benefits that jerk Ash without actually improving their standing.
Secondly, vying for favor can easily escalate and ignite a conflict. Previously, when Ash returned from the Allstars prison, he immediately kissed the Sword Maiden. Even though the Witch fully understood, she still felt resentful enough to want to hang the Sword Maiden up and watch her enjoy intimacy with Ash.
At that moment, Diya realized that her previous claim of being willing to share Ash with the Sword Maiden was merely out of fear that Ash might reject her feigned politeness. So, upon receiving Ash’s promise, she immediately wanted to push her advantage—there are already enough of us Witches; we don’t need new sisters, even if it’s the Sword Maiden!
Damn it! Even though the reason is Ash favoring the Sword Maiden, being caught by the Sword Maiden means I’m in the wrong...
"You’re here." Sonia glanced at the two of them and picked up hand cream from the nearby vanity table: "Found any traces?"
"Not yet, I’m reenacting past scenes." Ash quickly put on his jacket. "Did you run out of hand cream?"
"Yeah, I came to get Felix’s."
Diya blinked; could she possibly get away with this?
"Witch," Sonia suddenly said, "You’re in your youthful form now. What were you doing?"
"I-I-I—" Diya was so startled she reverted to a little girl form: "I was just help-helping—"
"Helping Ash reenact the scene?"
Sonia glanced at Ash’s clothes and smiled: "Isn’t that what you wore six months ago when you went on a date with me."
"Yes, yes." Diya hesitated, nodding cautiously. "I was just helping Ash with his outfit to fit the details of his memory..."
"Then I won’t interrupt you." Sonia gracefully left, leaving the two of them in the room.
"Good thing the Sword Maiden didn’t misunderstand."
Ash sighed in relief, then pushed Diya out, "Compensation’s done, and you can’t bring up my favoritism towards the Sword Maiden again!"
But Diya didn’t care about Ash pushing her out. She lingered dreamily at the door, unable to believe what she just saw as if witnessing something more unbelievable than the Starry Sky collapsing.
The Sword Maiden actually... was being reasonable?
What was she doing!
Why didn’t she explode, act sarcastic, or even kick me out?
Why was she calmly analyzing the situation, completely unconcerned about my possible transgressions?
So terrifying!
Diya paced nervously in front of the door, her legs trembling uncontrollably, before finally succumbing to her unease and sprinting downstairs.
She saw the Sword Maiden sitting on the sofa, eating snacks and watching a drama.
The Witch hurriedly squeezed beside the Sword Maiden, Sonia glanced at the little girl, calmly asking: "Finished with Ash’s matter?"
"Who cares about him!" Diya instantly expressed her stance, affectionately clutching Sonia’s arm, and coyly asked: "Sword Maiden, shall we sleep together tonight?"
"Aren’t you sleeping with Ash?"
"He sleeps poorly, often kicks me out of bed." Diya shook the Sword Maiden’s hand. "I like the Sword Maiden best; you’re the only companion I recognize. Back on the Time Continent, I’m so grateful you took care of me."
Sonia stroked her little head: "I also miss our reckless days on the Time Continent... But wasn’t Ash taking care of you back then in reality?"
"No way, he couldn’t even take care of himself. Actually, it was me taking care of him." Diya confidently said: "I’ll tell you all his embarrassing stories tonight!"
"Alright."
Sonia’s lips curled into a slight smile, reaching into her bag to produce a piece of gummy, aiming it at Diya’s lips, "Ah~"
Diya opened her mouth: "Ah—"
Sonia’s fingers swiftly stuffed the gummy into the Witch’s mouth, practically placing it into her throat. The Witch dared not move until Sonia withdrew her finger, swallowing the gummy directly.
Diya trembled and watched Sonia fearfully, but Sonia paid her no mind, intently watching the drama’s joys and sorrows. After hesitating for a moment, the Witch proactively nestled into the Sword Maiden’s embrace. After the Sword Maiden gently wrapped her arms around her, the heavy stone in her heart lifted, and she obediently accompanied the Sword Maiden to pass the time.
