Chapter 602: Chapter 487: Harmony Prohibition of Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon

"Don’t be nervous," Sonia said. "The reason we can’t return to reality is that we’re not in the Distant Realm but in a ’dream.’ With a layer of Dream Bubble Shadow barrier between us, we cannot directly return to reality."

"As long as we leave the dream and return to the Distant Realm, we will be able to exit the Void Realm normally."

Diya asked anxiously, "Then how do we leave?"

"Find the Dream Master, or just fly up. The dream’s vertical height shouldn’t be high, flying one or two hundred meters should be enough to escape," Sonia said. "But the problem is, once we return to the Distant Realm, we’ll die instantly."

Ash was taken aback. "What?"

"The dream is actually a mechanism to protect mages. Once the protection of the dream is lost, mages are directly exposed in the Distant Realm and will encounter the ’Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon Harmony Prohibition,’ and then die quickly," Sonia explained. "Only by opening up the Holy Domain can one contend with the space’s harmony, but mages can’t keep the Holy Domain open all the time, so we must hide in the dream and not be exposed in the space at all times."

"Wait," Diya raised her hand and said, "Without Holy Domain, we dare not pass through the Space Gate; without Holy Domain, we cannot leave the dream; without Holy Domain, we cannot return to the Distant Realm, nor can we exit the Void Realm normally... If we can’t leave, can’t escape, are we not just facing a dead-end?"

"It’s indeed a dead-end," the Village Girl nodded heavily. "This is why every Three-winged Mage masters the knack of the Holy Domain."

"You either die over and over until your soul is extinguished and you are removed from the ranks of the Holy Sanctuary Mages; or you enter the Space Faction through the death torture of ’Space Transmission’ and ’Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon Harmony Prohibition’ and grasp the method to unfold the Holy Domain, becoming a formal Holy Sanctuary Mage."

"Without Holy Domain, you can’t move forward, and you’re not even worthy of living in the Distant Realm," Sonia spread her hands. "The Void Realm won’t just hand you a Holy Domain; there are no benefits such as automatically mastering a skill when you level up. If you want to master the Time Faction, you have to bathe in the Flowing Gold River; if you want to start the Space Faction, you have to die a few times or dozens of times in the Distant Realm— if you die hundreds of times, your soul will probably really break down completely."

Diya murmured, "So... we’re going to die next?"

"Some mages with far superior space talents can grasp and unfold the Holy Domain during their first encounter with the ’Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon Harmony Prohibition,’" Sonia said. "But such space prodigies are usually from the Beastman Clan, less common among humans... Observer, how is our space talent?"

"Not outstanding enough to be visible to me."

"That means no matter what, we have to die at least once," Sonia stretched herself and said, "But this kind of death shouldn’t cause much damage to the soul, and with you, Observer, having potions that heal the soul, we’ll recover quickly."

"So we won’t see each other for the next few days then..." Diya whispered softly, "That’s fine."

Not see each other for the next few days?

Ash was somewhat bewildered. Compared to the perilous plan to sneak into the Imperial Palace in a few days’ time, this news made him even more despondent.

Sonia seemed to notice Ash’s gaze and quietly looked back at him. But she said nothing, just staring straight at him, her eyes stubborn, as if waiting for him to speak.

Ash felt a bit of panic under her gaze and subconsciously looked away to observe the surrounding shops and buildings. Grandia Boutique, Mirror Fine Goods, Princess’ Painting Square, Snow White Candy Store, Bokin Orphanage...

Diya sensed the peculiar shift in the atmosphere and asked tentatively, "Should I... go do some reconnaissance?"

"Do you know why the dreams of the Distant Realm are called Dream Bubble Shadows?" Sonia, with her arms crossed, suddenly said. "Because compared to dreams, they are closer to shadows, and you never know when they will just—"

Pop.

The whole world suddenly shattered like a bubble, and everything around them vanished in an instant.

Ash lifted his head, and now the true Distant Realm was reflected in his pupils: boundless in every direction, the whole world was bright, but the source of light was unknown, and they seemed to be falling into the sky; the whole world was almost empty, but in any far-off sight they could see, rainbow mists of ’bubbles’ floated, tiny compared to the vast space.

They seemed to float in a vacuum, unbalanced, yet not falling.

The Cult Leader instinctively spread golden and silver wings, attempting to fly, but he saw the Village Girl shake her head, indicating that it was futile.

Sonia stretched her arm towards him as much as she could, and Ash reached out, trying to touch the tips of her fingers in the final moments—

Sigh.

The imperceptible sound of the wind pierced his soul. He saw his and the Sword Maiden’s fingertips dissolve into nothingness, saw the terrified Witch collide with him—both of them disintegrated into oblivion.

Effortlessly, the wind tore their souls apart, carving new voids within every particle of their soul energy.

Seconds later, their dispersed soul particles began to reassemble piece by piece, then gathered together to reconstruct their forms, beautifully like petals rebuilding their bodies. The voids inside their soul energies also completely unified, forming brand new, independent spaces the same size as their physical beings.

After several more seconds, the roughly formed spaces within them started to collapse, from complete wholes back into fragments, into individual grains. This collapse was irreversible; from the outside, their bodies fell apart like an avalanche, as all three watched each other dissipate into the air.

Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon Harmony Prohibition: Snow Ruin.

In the end, they were left with nothing, their consciousnesses drifting alone in the Distant Realm. But drawn by consciousness, under the influence of gravity, the wandering soul energy reaggregated into new soul bodies, like tiny bubbles. Although the new soul bodies were small and fragile, after the torment of the previous three steps, stable spaces finally formed within them, even capable of briefly existing in the Distant Realm.

This was the embryonic form of the Holy Domain, they thought.

Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon Harmony Prohibition: Moon Sky.

With an inaudible farewell, the bubbles burst, consciousness returned.

...

Kingdom of Stars.

Sonia stepped out of the meditation building, gazing at the starry sky twinkling outside, momentarily lost in thought.

She didn’t head back to her dorm but instead walked to the school entrance. Just as she prepared to unfurl her wings and fly, she saw a familiar silver luxury car approaching.

"You can get past the curfew this late?" she asked.

"I’ve got some privileges within reasonable limits," said Felix. "Where to?"

Sonia pointed toward the towering White Tower in the distance. Vosloda, the second young master, found it a bit strange but didn’t ask further. She had intended to talk to the Claw Club president about Demi, but sensing the red-haired Sword Maiden’s mind was on something far away, she suppressed the urge to speak.

Minutes later, watching the silver car drive off, Sonia turned to face the towering White Tower.

At the base of the White Tower was a forest—whether it was there before the construction or grown afterward by a miracle was unknown. The forest had no guards, just a stone path leading to the White Tower, but no one could step onto its stairway, blocked by a wall of air.

Sonia used to be completely blind to the air wall, but now she could faintly discern its shape.

At the tower’s peak twinkled a clear blue light—Sonia knew this was the Prayer of the Stars maintaining the stability of the Starry Sky.

After a moment of hesitation, Sonia checked again for anyone else around, then went to kneel on the stone path in front of the White Tower, facing it, hands together in prayer, eyes closed in silent supplication.

The church of the Dazzling Star Magic Master was not open to the public and only nobles could become Believers. Therefore, this newly established Star Cluster White Tower was the only building where Sonia could find herself closest to the Dazzling Star Magic Master.

After a moment, Sonia opened her eyes, looking up for the stars’ response.

I quietly prayed to the stars for you; no one knows, only the Dazzling Star Magic Master knows.
