Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress-Chapter 97: Ch : Hostility From the City Lord
Obviously Weiss’s extremely powerful perception was not going to miss this kind of things. But she was not sure about what was the exact reason behind this sudden intense hostility.
The feeling that Weiss got from the men keeping an eye on them was not just that of simple caution. Instead what she felt was intense hostility.
There was not that much killing intent mixed with the hostility. Instead, there was a lot of lust. From this combination of emotions, Weiss gusessed that these men wanted to capture them alive for neferious reasons instead of killing them outright.
Peria’s perception was not strong enough to sense these looks and hostility but Elise was able to somewhat sense them. Evem though she was not specialised in perception, because of her realm of a high level knight, her perception was already stronger than normal.
As Elise was about to turn her head and look toward the direction from where one of the most hostile intent was coming from, Weiss lightly touched her hand and stop her from doing so.
Weiss did not want their enemies to know that they were already onto them. So for the time being, it was better to just act like they had no idea about what was happening in the dark.
At first Weiss was planning to visit the blacksmith district in search of a good Blacksmith before going back to the inn but now, with the arrival of this new trouble, she decided to return back to the inn first.
...
The name of the inn where the ladies were going to stay was Dazzling Fairy. It was not a very large and luxurious inn but this place has a cozy homely feel to it that Weiss really liked. The other ladies were also fond of this.
After entering the inn, they immediately went to their room, which was a large room with four beds. After entering the room, Weiss took out a bell and rang it once. Immediately a barrier appeared covering three meter radius around her.
This was a similar type of magic item that Mathius had used in the tavern when he was talking with her. This was a very useful magic item and with this, the ladies would he able to discuss freely without the worry of someone eavesdropping on them.
Peria had not realised at all about the danger of the situation. So she was a bit taken aback with Weiss suddenly taking this item out. But in the very next moment, she focused her mind and became serious.
Weiss then started to inform both of the ladies about the amount of enemies who were currently targetting them. The number was actually more than twenty with additions coming every now and then.
From this demonstration, it was very clear who was actually behind this. Only the lord of the city would have the capability to pull off something like this in this city of Lemarta. This was not a city dominated by the dark organisations, so only he was capable of doing it.
Hearing this speculation, an intense light started to shine in Elise’s eyes. The lord of this city, Count Dorek was one of the major people who had participated in the destruction of her Triston family. So now that he was actually trying to harm her again, was this not the perfect opportunity to destroy him ?
As for if she had the power to do so or not, Elise was not certain. If Weiss joined her in this, she was one hundred percent assured of the victory. But with her alone, that assurance would go down to about 60 percent or so.
Seeing the look in Elise eyes and guessing what she was thinking, Weiss tried to look kindly at her to show that she would always be there with Elise to support her. But from a third persons perspective, it just looked at as Weiss was coldly glaring at Elise.
Fortunately, Elise had worked very hard to understand even the littlest of changes in Weiss expression. So even though it was very unclear, Elise was still was able to understand that Weiss was trying to express. From this display, her heart became warm.
Peria also understood the situation and declared her intention of putting her life on the line while fighting alongside Elise and Weiss. The relationship between all the ladies in the Souran castle were extremely close. So obviously Peria was also ready to give her all for her friend’s sake.
Weiss was happy to see this. This kind of behaviour was proof that her choice of subordinates had been excellent. If it was that muscular leader of the Shadeshifters, then he would definitely have been a terrible, selfish and opportunistic subordinate.
But there was no need for Peria to risk her life in this situation. The forces of this count was not strong enough to put Peria in a situation like that while she was under her and Elise’s protection.
Then the three ladies started to come up with a plan. As the count here was clearly hostile toward them, Weiss suggested that taking an active approach to get rid of his men instead of a reactive approach would definitely be better. Hearing this suggestion, Elise and Peria nodded their heads.
With this in mind, it was decided to that Weiss and Elise would be the main people in charge of taking down the men keeping an eye on the inn. With their speed specialised builds, they were perfect for this. While on the other hand, Peria was going to act as a bait to keep the attention of some of the watchers. Her beauty and seductive nature was perfect for this task.
With this plan made, the ladies immediately took action. The current time was evening and the night was definitely going to be very long.
...
In the mansion of the lord in the city of Lemarta, count Dorek was laughing loudly after hearing the news that the runaway daughter of the Triston family had returned to his city, his lair.
The count had been eyeing her sexy body for a long long time and he had been very disappointed when she had managed to run away. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
But now that the sheep had entered the tiger’s den willingly like a fool, it was time to hunt her down and get a taste of her body. Count Dorek was really looking forward to it.
"Call for Nuda and Tilk. We have a prey to hunt."
Saying this, the count left with a nasty and lewd smile on his face.
