Chapter 813: Meet Grandpa?

Chapter 813

On another side of the battlefield, Rivock and Drevor could be seen facing off.

"I wouldn’t do that if I were you."

A sudden distortion manifested around Drevor, causing him to turn his head slightly only to witness fifty Ki swords glowing with tremendous energy.

Their lethal tips remained pointed directly at his head and back.

Click—!

Rivock just moved his tongue and almost immediately, the swords shot towards his brother’s body at blazing speed.

Without any worry noted in his features, Drevor spun around with a Ki longsword materializing in his grip.

Swinging the blade forward, he smashed into Rivock’s attack, turning the projectiles to nothing before twirling around almost immediately with the sword hitting something with a loud clang.

He glared.

Rivock was already up on his feet.

A Ki sword which had been thrust towards his brother’s open back was now blocked, and now, the two siblings stared daggers at each other.

Without any exchange of words, they moved.

Ki sword for Ki sword.

Speed for speed.

Attack for attack and defense.

They danced around the plain of the coliseum with vigor as they went for the kill.

Each strike held years of accumulated anger and strength.

They hammered their Ki swords against one another with the relentless force of a blacksmith using a heavy mallet against glowing steel.

The ground bore the brunt of their movements and attacks as it cracked and at times quaked under the pressure.

The more they engaged, the more Ki they poured into their weapons, fueling their physical strength and continuous barrage.

Until, finally, the Ki swords couldn’t even take the strain anymore and just outright shattered out of pure annoyance.

Without losing an ounce of momentum, the brothers dashed towards each other.

Fists sped towards one another until slamming into those of the opponent with a dull, metallic ring.

The ground burst open from the sheer impact of the fists hitting each other, with thick dust billowing into the air.

Yet, their eyes remained locked on one another.

Drevor’s face remained expressionless while Rivock just grinned as if enjoying the whole fight.

As if their minds were interconnected, they disconnected while jumping backwards simultaneously.

Then, in one smooth movement, they held their palms out and from them, a yellow beam of Ki appeared.

Bang—!

A raw beam of Ki burst from each of their palms.

They collided mid-air with a destructive explosion that tore the scorched ground open in a flash.

Dust and smoke clouded the skies as the brothers landed on the earth together.

Panting softly, they stared at one another as if reading for any sign of movement from the other.

"Honestly, brother," Drevor began as he straightened himself while wiping a streak of saliva from his lips.

"I don’t know what you are actually thinking, but how do you feel like you can contend with a stage seven warrior who is on the high side?"

Rivock smirked.

"... And what are you thinking by feeling like you could contend with a stage six warrior who is on a high side? You are actually battling with me in case you forgot."

Drevor frowned.

"Just because you are hailed as a genius, you let it get to your head? You forgot that I was also a genius in my time."

Rivock grinned, his expression brimming with provocation.

"You mean an expired genius?"

The corner of Drevor’s eyes twitched visibly as he glared at his younger brother, his patience clearly reaching its limit.

"Aight. You need to go meet grandpa."

Lifting his hand high into the air, he hurled it back down almost instantly, causing a torrential rain of Ki swords to plummet toward Rivock at blitzing speed.

Staring at the hundreds of translucent blades whistling his way, Rivock didn’t even flinch one bit.

He simply circulated energy around his feet, causing his heavy frame to feel a bit lighter, and then with an explosive force, he shot into the sky to meet the descending weapons head-on.

’What a lunatic....’

Bang—! Bang—! Bang—!

Rivock was smashing through the constructs with nothing but his bare fists, his knuckles glowing with raw power.

Kicking the air from the left to the right, he moved like a phantom, crashing into the swords and causing them to shatter into shimmering fragments.

For every blade he shattered, two more tried piercing him from behind, seeking out the gaps in his defense.

But with his high perception, he was always able to manifest his own pair of swords to collide with the incoming threats and destroy them.

Within a minute, Rivock was left with a single Ki sword which he spun around deftly; he then smashed his toes into the hilt, sending the weapon reversing back at Drevor with astonishing velocity.

Drevor watched his own Ki sword streaking back at him, yet with a calm composure, he merely flicked his finger.

A pulse of energy shot out, tearing through the returning blade like it was nothing but thin glass. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

In a flash, Rivock crossed the distance and materialized before his older brother with a heavy punch shooting his way.

With a slight tilt of his head, Drevor watched the fist rush past his face, the wind of the strike ruffling his hair.

Then in a jiffy, Drevor clamped his hand on Rivock’s outstretched arm before the younger man had the opportunity to even pull it back.

Kicking off the ground, he spun like a ferris wheel and smashed his legs into Rivock’s head with the momentum of a bullet train.

Rivock initially heard high-pitched ringing sounds in his ears before his limb was let go and he was sent flying backwards like a broken doll.

’Huh?’

Cough—!

A spray of crimson blood erupted from his mouth as his body continued its backward trajectory, with genuine confusion etched on his face.

Slowly tracing his gaze downwards, Rivock finally saw the source of his fading strength, and more bewilderment spread across his facial features.

’When did he...?’

The reason for his confusion was because a sudden, jagged hole had torn through his abdomen, with blood spraying from the wound and trailing after his soaring body.

Thud—!

Skip—! Skip—! Skip—!

Rivock’s body crashed into the dirt and then proceeded to bounce across the hard earth like a flat rock skipping on water.

He finally came to a halt a second later, his frame remaining ominously unmoving.

Drevor stood in his initial position. A wide, cold smile played on his face as he lifted his hand into the air.

A sharp glint flashed in the light as a Ki sword could be seen in his grip, the translucent edge dripping with fresh blood which was obviously Rivock’s.
