As the ceremony came to an end, the guests slowly began to leave. One by one they paused to congratulate the couple before heading out, their voices gradually fading into the quiet of the hall. The children had already been taken away by their families, their laughter trailing down the corridor as the celebration slowly settled.
Soon, the once lively hall grew quieter.
Then, when the last of the guests had gone, Cassian suddenly lifted Mira off the ground.
She gasped, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck.
"What are you doing?" she asked, startled. "Aren’t you tired?"
Cassian raised an eyebrow, a slow smirk spreading across his face.
"Tired?" he repeated. "The night’s just getting started." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Mira rolled her eyes playfully.
"Don’t make that face," he murmured, amusement glinting in his eyes. "It makes me want to see it again... in a far more interesting situation."
Her cheeks warmed, but she didn’t stop smiling as he carried her down the hallway toward their honeymoon suite.
Cassian didn’t bother putting her down. Balancing her easily in his arms, he opened the door and stepped inside. With a casual push of his leg, he shut the door behind them before finally walking toward the bed and setting her down gently.
---
The grand bedroom of their honeymoon suite glowed with the soft flicker of a dozen candles, their flames casting shifting shadows across the silk-draped walls. The air carried the scent of white roses from Mira’s bridal bouquet mixed with the faint musk of Cassian’s cologne, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. Moonlight filtered through gauzy curtains and settled across the king-sized bed, its sheets slightly rumpled from their hurried arrival.
Cassian lowered Mira gently onto the bed, his gaze dark with affection and restrained desire as he leaned over her. His thumb traced along her jawline, tilting her chin until she met his intense eyes.
"Five years of waiting... for this official night," he murmured, his voice a low rumble as his lips brushed the side of her neck.
He kissed her slowly and deeply, exploring her mouth with unhurried care as if savoring something precious. "I’ve imagined this so many times," he confessed quietly between kisses while his hands moved slowly across her body, familiar with every curve yet rediscovering them in this new closeness. "My beautiful wife..."
He smiled softly against her lips, noticing her shy responses.
Cassian unbuttoned his dress shirt one button at a time, revealing his chest gradually. "Lift your arms," he said gently, helping her out of her wedding dress with care. He paused for a moment to admire her in her lingerie before reaching behind her to unhook her bra. His eyes darkened with appreciation as he revealed her fully.
He cupped her breasts gently, his thumbs brushing lightly across her nipples. "So perfect," he murmured before lowering his head and kissing her there, his touch tender while his other hand held her close. "Mine..."
His lips traveled slowly down her stomach as his fingers hooked beneath the edge of her panties. "Spread your legs for me, baby," he said softly, meeting her eyes.
When she did, he slid the fabric down and set it aside before settling between her thighs.
He kissed along the inside of her legs in slow, teasing movements before moving closer. The soft sound she made drew a faint smile from him.
"Shh, princess," he whispered, his attention patient and deliberate.
His movements remained careful yet confident, guiding her reactions while focusing entirely on her. Her breathing quickened, her legs trembling slightly as the sensation slowly built.
"Come for me, wife," he murmured softly.
The words were enough to push her over the edge. She cried out his name as her body arched upward in waves of pleasure. Cassian stayed close through the aftershocks, gentle and attentive until she finally relaxed against the bed, breathless.
After a moment he rose and removed the rest of his clothes, letting them fall aside. Mira watched him, her expression softening as she reached out instinctively, her hand brushing against him.
"Cassian..." she whispered.
He groaned quietly, catching her hand and guiding it slower. "Touch me like that and I won’t last," he admitted before kissing her palm.
He positioned himself between her legs again, their eyes meeting in the candlelight.
"I love you, Mira. My everything."
Slowly he pressed closer, moving carefully as their bodies adjusted to the closeness. They both released quiet breaths at the sensation, the years of longing finally dissolving into this shared moment.
Cassian began moving with a slow, steady rhythm, deliberate and controlled. Mira’s fingers pressed into his back as her legs wrapped around him, pulling him closer.
The bed shifted softly beneath them while their breathing grew uneven. A light sheen of sweat formed along his shoulders as he continued, one hand steady at her hip while the other traced across her body.
"Faster... please," she whispered, the shyness in her voice fading.
Cassian responded immediately, increasing his pace while leaning down to kiss her again, deeper this time. His movements remained controlled but powerful as he held her firmly.
"Come with me," he said, his voice rougher now.
Her body tightened first as she cried out his name, the sensation pulling him over the edge moments later. He held her close as the tension broke through them both, their bodies trembling slightly before collapsing together on the bed.
They lay there breathing heavily for a moment before Cassian shifted, turning her gently onto her side and pulling her back against his chest. His arm wrapped around her waist while his hand moved slowly across her skin.
"This time slower," he murmured near her ear.
Their second time together carried a quieter intimacy, their movements slower and more relaxed as the earlier intensity softened into something calmer and deeper.
Eventually, completely spent, Cassian withdrew and gathered her into his arms. Most of the candles had burned low by then, wax pooling quietly around their bases.
He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead while his fingers traced lazy patterns along her shoulder.
"Looks like you’re stuck with me now," he whispered softly.
Mira settled comfortably against his chest, warm and content, the quiet weight of their wedding rings resting between them as the room finally grew still.
---
Dawn slipped through the curtains and warmed Mira’s skin. Her body still hummed from the night before—tender and alive. The rich scent of coffee curled through the air alongside the sizzle of bacon.
She smiled into the sheets before sliding from bed and pulling on her silk robe.
Barefoot, she padded to the kitchenette. Cassian stood there shirtless with sweatpants riding low on his hips. Sunlight poured over his broad shoulders, tracing the flex of muscle as he turned the eggs in the pan.
He looked so effortlessly hers.
"Already cooking for me?" she asked softly, wrapping her arms around him from behind. Her cheek pressed against the warmth of his back while her hands splayed across his stomach.
He switched off the burner with a quiet click and turned in her embrace. His dark eyes found hers and held them as his hands settled at her waist.
"Always."
He lifted her easily and set her on the cool marble counter. The silk robe parted naturally as he stepped between her thighs and pulled her closer.
Their kiss began as a whisper of lips—gentle and full of promise—before hunger slowly took over. Their mouths moved together in a deep, unhurried rhythm that left her breathless. His fingers slid into her hair, tilting her head back just enough to claim more.
She gripped his shoulders, her nails grazing warm skin.
The world narrowed to the taste of him and the growing heat of his body pressed against hers.
"Cassian..." His name slipped from her lips on a breath thick with need as his mouth drifted down to her neck. He nipped softly before soothing the spot with his tongue.
"Right here," he murmured against her skin.
His hands urged her thighs wider before he sank slowly to his knees. His lips traced a teasing path inward, warm breath brushing her skin before his mouth finally found her center.
His touch was warm and deliberate, his tongue circling slowly before pressing firmer. His fingers joined the rhythm, sliding deep and curling to that perfect place.
Pleasure built steadily, rising like a slow tide.
Mira arched into him, one hand tangling in his hair while the other braced against the counter. Soft sounds escaped her as the sensation climbed higher.
When release finally overtook her, it came in shuddering waves. His name fell from her lips in a broken whisper.
Cassian rose and captured her mouth again, kissing her deeply before turning her gently to face the counter. His chest pressed warmly against her back, sending another spark through her body.
He nudged against her entrance and slid inside in one smooth motion.
They both stilled for a moment, savoring the deep connection.
His rhythm began slow and steady, drawing soft gasps from her throat. One arm wrapped around her waist to steady her while his other hand moved across her body, pulling small shivers from her skin.
"You feel like everything," he breathed against her ear.
She pushed back to meet him, their movements gradually building into something stronger and more urgent. The quiet kitchen filled with uneven breaths and the soft sounds of movement.
"Together," he rasped.
Mira reached the edge first, her body tightening around him as pleasure broke through her again. He followed moments later with a low groan, holding her close as the tension released between them.
He remained pressed against her afterward, resting his forehead against her shoulder while their breathing slowly steadied.
"You’re mine to come home to now. Every single day." he murmured softly.
