~Elara’s POV

The Wedding Day...

I woke up before the sun.

The room was quiet, but my heart was not. It was beating fast, full, like it knew this day mattered. Light slipped in through the curtains, soft and pale. The air smelled of flowers. Fresh ones. Roses, lilies, things placed there while I slept.

"It’s today," I whispered to myself.

Before I could even sit up properly, the door opened slowly, and my maids came in, smiling like they had been waiting all night for this moment.

"Good morning, Princess," one of them said gently. "It is your wedding day."

I smiled so wide my cheeks hurt. "I know," I said. "I barely slept."

They laughed softly and came closer, helping me out of bed. Everything felt careful and important. Like the whole palace was holding its breath.

They bathed me with warm water and flowers, my skin glowing by the time they were done. They rubbed sweet oils into my arms and legs, brushed my hair until it shone. My mother came in halfway through, wearing a soft gown, her face glowing with pride and tears.

"My beautiful daughter," she said, touching my cheek. "Today you leave my care."

I hugged her tightly. "I’ll always be yours," I said.

"I know," she replied. "But today, you become a Luna."

The dress came next.

When they lifted it, I almost stopped breathing. The dress was more than I imagined, grand, historical, like something from the portraits I had only seen in the palace halls. The layers of white and silver were soft, almost like clouds, flowing gently around me. The embroidery caught the light, shimmering like threads of moonlight woven right into the fabric. The train stretched behind me, a gentle cascade that seemed to move with a life of its own. I could feel the weight, not heavy but significant, like it held centuries of tradition and pride.

The maids guided me slowly into the gown, adjusting each fold, smoothing the fabric, lifting the train to make sure it fell perfectly. My mother’s hands hovered over my shoulders and the hem, making final touches. When they placed the delicate crown on my head, it felt almost too light, but I could sense its presence, commanding and regal. I straightened, feeling taller, more confident, stronger in a way I hadn’t expected.

My mother stepped back, covering her mouth with her hands, eyes shining. "You look just like the queens before you," she whispered. Her voice trembled, but it was filled with pride and love.

I blinked rapidly, feeling tears sting the corners of my eyes. "Thank you, Mother," I said, my voice small, choked with emotion. She reached for my hands, squeezing them softly. "You’ve grown into a remarkable woman. Tonight, you honor our pack, our family, and your destiny."

Outside, the sounds of the hall shifted. Horns echoed through the corridors, announcing the arrival of the guests. Alphas, Lunas, and members from other packs were filing in, some bearing gifts, others offering words of respect and celebration. The air was heavy with expectation, the smell of incense mixing with the soft aroma of roses and fresh linens. Music played quietly in the background, strings and flutes weaving together a melody that was both ceremonial and joyful.

The doors opened wide, and suddenly the hall fell silent. I felt every eye on me as I took my first step forward. My shoes barely made a sound on the polished marble, but every heartbeat in my chest felt thunderous. My steps were slow, deliberate. I bowed to my parents first, letting my gaze linger on them. My father’s chest lifted slightly, pride radiating from him, and I could see tears in his eyes.

"My daughter," he said softly, his voice low but steady. My mother nodded beside him, hands clasped over her heart, glowing with warmth and love.

Then I turned toward him. Alpha Darlon stood waiting, his posture perfect, strong, yet gentle. He looked at me as though the world had shrunk to the two of us alone. His eyes softened when they met mine, and the usual strength in his expression melted into something warmer, something entirely personal. I felt my chest tighten, my breath catching.

"You are breathtaking," he whispered as I approached him.

I smiled back, feeling a surge of warmth that spread from my chest to my fingers, toes, every part of me. "So are you," I replied softly, letting the words carry my own certainty and joy.

The priest stepped forward, an older man with a gentle presence, robes flowing to the floor. He raised his hands, gesturing for silence, and his voice carried through the hall. "We are gathered here tonight to witness the union of Princess Elara and Alpha Darlon, joining not just two hearts, but two destinies, two families, and two packs in a bond of loyalty, love, and honor."

I felt my hands tremble slightly as I turned toward Darlon. He took my hands in his, his palms warm, fingers strong. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

The priest continued, speaking of the duties and responsibilities of marriage, the sacred trust and honor they must uphold, and the joy and care they must carry for each other. My heart thudded with each word, every syllable filling me with awe and anticipation. The full moon outside shone through the open ceiling, its silver light falling across the hall, spilling onto my dress, turning the embroidery into a sparkling halo.

"Elara," he whispered, "I will honor you. I will love you. I will always protect you."

I felt my throat tighten. "And I will honor you. Love you. And stand with you."

The priest nodded, smiling kindly at us, and guided us through the final vows, our voices steady, our hearts aligned.

"Elara," he said clearly. "I choose you. As my mate. As my Luna. As my equal."

My voice shook, but I spoke. "And I choose you. As my Alpha. As my mate. As my home."

Cheers filled the hall. Music rose. Flowers were thrown. My parents hugged me. The guests bowed.

When the priest finally pronounced us husband and wife, a hush fell over the hall. He turned to us, his eyes gentle but firm, and raised a hand. "And now," he said, "by the power vested in me, and by the love and trust you have sworn to each other, you may seal your vows with a kiss."

I felt my pulse spike. My hands tightened around Darlon’s. His eyes searched mine, calm, warm, and full of devotion. I smiled, my chest tightening with excitement and emotion.

He leaned closer slowly, his forehead brushing mine for a heartbeat before his lips met mine. The kiss was gentle at first, tender and sweet.

When we finally pulled back, our foreheads rested together, and I could hear him whisper, "You are everything, Elara. I cannot wait to spend every day with you."

I smiled against him, my own voice barely above a whisper. "And I with you."

The priest nodded, smiling warmly at us. "Then it is done," he said. "The vows are sealed, and the bond is true."
