Chapter 183: I will never leave you

Sage’s eyes were wide and her lips parted in surprise at that statement. Did Cyrus expect her to punish him? His mischievous smile broadened, his intense sexy eyes locked on her, making her body and insides itch with passion like a fire that couldn’t be extinguished.

"Do you not wish to punish me? Then I am going to punish you." He hissed erotically and softly held her covered breast, causing her lips to quiver unconsciously.

Sage was rendered speechless. She would normally speak or act, but he had rendered her completely speechless. Her eyes were blinking owlishly at Cyrus, and her mind was barely functioning as her body’s desire for his touch increased second by second.

"I... I didn’t do anything wrong." Sage found her voice, but it was stuttering.

"You did." He sighed, his eyes twinkling with mad lust.

Sage swallowed, her brow furrowed, and asked again, "What did I do?"

"You are falling in love with my dark state parrot," Cyrus said calmly, jealousy taking the place of the intense lust in his eyes.

His confession made them quiet. Sage’s eyes widened even more, and she bit her lower lip as she tried to process what he had just said to her. Her husband was envious of himself, and just thinking about it made her want to laugh out loud.

Cyrus read her perfectly, and his eyes darkened and glowed with jealousy. Sage was aware of his expression, but she wasn’t able to suppress her impending laughter and burst out laughing.

He stared at her as she laughed her heart out, and he wanted to be mad at her, but he couldn’t because he was enjoying how happy and cute she looked while laughing.

"... Okay, Alright.." She chanted between fits of laughter, then paused, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. "You can’t be serious!" Her eyes fluttered open, and she exclaimed. "How can you possibly be jealous of yourself?" Cyrus’ eyes widened slightly as she asked.

Was she seriously thinking that he was the same person in his states?

"He is a different soul, Sage," Cyrus grumbled.

"I understand you have three souls, but you are still the same person." Sage told him confidently. All of Cyrus’ states were just different personalities with different mindsets and abilities to her, and this fact stunned him.

"No, Sage," Cyrus said with a deep sigh, and her face flushed even more as the sound of her name rolled off his tongue.

Her reaction calmed him down a little, but Sage could sense his surprise and confusion at her words and thought. Her happy smile faded and was replaced by a bitter one because she knew Cyrus would not accept the fact that his souls were actually one. It was only her thoughts, but she believed in them. She could read him at that moment, remembering how he had almost killed her several times, how he had spoken to her, how he had acted like a cold jerk.

His normal state was cold but still had both positive and negative emotions, his dark state only had negative emotions and sometimes none at all, and his demonic state was a psychopath with intense blood lust and cravings for destruction, and they all had the same goal: to take her fire core, her life source. Cyrus’ normal state was resisting but it wasn’t enough.

Despite this, Sage had fallen so deeply in love with him that she was convinced she couldn’t live without him. Everything that had happened in the past was unchangeable, and Sage couldn’t help but regret all of her words and actions back then. She was also a jerk.

She took a deep breath and moved away from the bed. She couldn’t possibly stay with him if she was only going to make his suffering worse. But Cyrus did not let her go, instead he pulled her into a hug and closing his eyes shut, wanting to stay in that position forever. Just him and her.

"Sage," his deep erotic voice erupted calmly. "Why can’t you run away from me when I am going to take your life?"

Sage’s heart beat faster in response to his question.

"I.." He paused, his grip on her tightening, his fear of letting her go palpable. "I am going to kill you..."

"You are not going to!" Sage shivered in his embrace and raised her voice. "No, you will not." Her voice was barely audible this time. She knew he wouldn’t tell her why he wanted her life force, but she also trusted him that he wouldn’t kill her.

Cyrus pulled away and gave her a squinted look as he tried to comprehend why she was so sure he wouldn’t kill her.

"You are not going to kill me, Cyrus, and I will keep saying that." She confidently placed her hands on his face, caressing his cheeks with her thumbs and smiling lovingly at him.

"Even if you end up killing me.. I’d rather it be you than anyone else. But until then.. Cyrus, I will be by your side as your wife, mate, and even your prey. Always." As soon as she finished speaking, she gave him a genuine heartwarming smile.

His eyes widened in complete shock and disbelief. She trusted him with her life that he was going to take and she was absolutely confident about it. At this point, she was the only one who could bring him to his knees. Only her.

"Whether in your normal, dark, or demonic state, you are my husband, Cyrus Dragos, the man I married, the man I love... you brought me into a whole new world of truth and yes," she laughed, her eyes welling up with tears. "Danger that cannot be avoided. Truthfully, I was scared of you even when I always acted bold and brave but I will never leave you.. I will never run away from you..." She paused again, this time with a small laugh.

She couldn’t leave him, she would never leave him and she would make sure of that because at this rate, it was Cyrus.. he was her life force. She had never expected to fall this deep but she knew that would never regret it. Everything that has happened and will happen between then was fate, and they were soulbonded from the moment she looked at him as an infant. Yes! She was certain! There was no turning back now; he had her heart and she had his.

"I will keep telling you..." She laughed again, and fiery liquid crystals fell from the corners of her eyes. "Cyrus... I love you."
