Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 241: Ophelia Novikov
"That is the city of water!" gasped Sage. ๐๐ป๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ค๐ซ๐ฎ๐.๐ฌ๐๐ข
"It is beautiful." Katherine smiled at the sight.
Arthur plummeted towards the city, his rapid descent ending with a graceful landing.
When he landed, everyone jumped off, and he returned to his human form.
"This is incredible!" His eyes grew wide with wonder as he glanced around.
River gazed at Katherine, his face mirroring the delight he saw on her beaming expression. Knowing that her clan lived there must make her feel at home.
"It is truly incredible!" She spun to face Sage and took her by the shoulders. "If this place exists, then fire, wind, and earth, everyone in the realm has a home! And so does the queen."
Sage blinked. "Oh, really?" Then she laughed at Katherineโs enthusiasm. She was really proud of herself, feeling that she had accomplished something worthwhile.
"Should we investigate the other cities or should we see if there is a royal castle somewhere?" She asked, cocking her head with interest.
"How about we take a walk?" Katherine said, looking at River. "Please."
Sage shot Cyrus a look.
Arthur was the first to walk away. Then River and Cyrus followed him silently.
Sighing, Sage turned to face Katherine, who let go of her shoulder. "Can you feel it?
"Your fire core? Yes." Katherine combed through her hair. "Of course, such a powerful spell was expected to have such a significant side effect!"
Sage understood her emotions, but she wanted to tell her the positive aspects of the situation.
"Kathrine, I..."
"Without a fire core with full strength, how in the world are you going to battle the ice gods and those repulsive Statkus mages?" Katherine interrupted, strode away to a nearby building, and propped herself against the wall, her forehead creased in a profound scowl.
"I doubt that it will have the strength to kill Cyrus at this point."
"That is the point, Katherine. My fire core is not worth anything right now for anybody who wants it." Sage disclosed with a groan.
Realizing this, Katherineโs eyes grew wide. "You are right! But if Cyrusโs demon state discovers it, he will kill you anyway."
"Which is why I must find a way! Or something! I mean, he..."
"Sage. Do you have a plan?" Katherine asked right away, her stern expression conveying her fear of what lay ahead.
Sage swallowed hard, clenching her fist. "I... I am not certain."
"Well, Querencia is free, all we need to do is make it through Cyrus, the ice gods, and the Statkus mages."
"I see River has been telling you a lot." Sage chuckled tensely.
"He is also been telling me about his home. Fireria is doing no good because it is at war with Celestia, the wolf kingdom. The current Lycan King is married to his twin sister." Katherine reported, shaking her head.
"I think we already have enough problems." Sage yawned and put her hand over her mouth. "I need to rest, and I mean a long rest."
"Come on," Katherine said, placing an arm around her shoulders. "Let us take a quick peek around."
.....
"Who would have thought that she would actually succeed in breaking such an ancient curse?" River questioned, still taken aback that they found themselves in a realm of mages.
"It is magnificent." Arthur whispered, looking around as they walked down the street.
The cityโs architecture was unlike anything they had ever encountered, with a radically unique design that defied all familiarity.
The homes, crafted from solid, crystal-clear ice, blended seamlessly into the cityโs frozen landscape, creating a harmonious and surreal urban landscape.
"I received another letter from Celestia." Cyrus muttered tensely. He was desperate to get his mind off things.
River looked at him, his brow furrowed with surprise. "Nikolai Novikov?"
"No, Ophelia Novikov." Cyrus responded.
Riverโs face darkened. "Ophelia Viadislav."
Cyrus chuckled. "If you say so."
"What is happening?" River asked.
"My presence is required in Celestia," Cyrus responded.
"And do you plan to go?"
"No. There is no way I am going to help that lunatic." Cyrus snarled, greatly offended by the question.
River nodded. "I know you hold a grudge against Nikolai Novikov, but I also know you still feel guilty about hurting Ophelia. Trust me, she never considered or cared about your actions that night."
Cyrusโ eyes widened at those words. He looked to River, who nodded reassuringly.
After speaking with his mother, he went to see how Ophelia was doing and ran into River, who was looking for Katherine at the time.
They were not prepared to find Isabella and Mirabella unconscious.
Strong feelings that were not his own came over Cyrus. Fear, terrible, terrible fear!
And he knew right away where Sage had gone. It was not difficult to deduce that Katherine had accompanied her.
Cyrus was really glad that they had both succeeded but... It wasnโt days anymore... It only took a few hours, and soon, minutes.
"You three did not go far," Sageโs voice shot up behind them, and he spun to see her and Katherine walking toward them with smiles on their faces.
"Shall we look for the castle now?" River asked.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Katherine teased.
Arthur swiftly morphed into his dragon form, and the group climbed onto his back. As he soared into the sky, Katherine gazed down upon a breathtaking sight.
A city encircled by a river of molten lava and a colossal, dark-hued wall, its surface etched with glowing veins of fiery lava.
"The city of fire." Katherine whispered, hesitantly.
Sage sighed. "It is beautiful."
Cyrus touched her shoulder, bringing a tiny smile to her face.
It wasnโt long before they chanced upon the city of wind, a vast, ethereal realm floating in the sky. And soon, they could see an enormous castle in the distance.
Upon arrival, Arthur touched down, and they dismounted, proceeding directly to the throne room. The room was eerily vacant, save for a single, imposing throne, which seemed to await their presence.
Sage gave it a long look. The sight brought back memories that made her heart hurt so much. It was not Credia, but the structure and presence were very similar.
All those years with Julius, Lianna... it was all a lie.
She inhaled deeply, clenching her fists as a fiery red glow filled her eyes. "It is time to return."
