Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 244: ATTACK (1)
Sage stirred, feeling a warmth that seemed to permeate her very being. She groaned softly, her eyes fluttering open to meet familiar ice blue eyes that filled her with joy.
"Cyrus?!" She sat up, her hands reaching out to tangle in his silver hair as he smiled and cupped her face, his thumb stroking her cheek tenderly.
His silver hair, those ice blue eyes..m he was back.
"What happened? How long have you been planning to merge your souls?" She asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
"My demon state has been fighting my dark state for a while, which awakened my normal soul’s essence. The struggle was becoming too much, so my dark state and I decided to unite once and for all. It wasn’t a deliberate plan, nor was it a choice we could avoid." He explained gently, leaning his face close to hers.
"Is your dark state no more?" She asked, her voice shaking as their noses touched.
"My dark state has become a part of me, a strength, not a separate soul." He replied, nuzzling his nose against hers with a smile.
"Just your demon state remaining. Is there no way to..."
"Stop worrying." Cyrus cut her off, pressing his lips against hers and pulled away with a deep breath. "It’s almost nightfall."
"I need to go to the Statkus portal," Sage said, trying to jump out of bed, but Cyrus pulled her back into his arms.
"Whatever you want to do, let’s do it together. Victor was a loyal friend to me. I must avenge him." He whispered, holding her close. "But I cannot afford to lose you."
"I cannot afford to lose you either. Not again." Sage confessed, sniffing.
"I will go to Videnia and confront the ice gods, you destroy the portal," Cyrus whispered, his lips brushing against her forehead.
Sage laughed. "Why? So you can finish me off yourself, afterwards?"
Cyrus’s smile was unapologetic. "Only I have the right to do so, my darling parrot."
Sage smiled, rolling her eyes. "We don’t have much time, let me go."
She broke free, and Cyrus’s hands shot out, fearing she might topple over. But she regained her balance, laughing, and stood upright, steadying herself.
"Can you try to shift into your dragon form? I know there’s a risk your demon state might take advantage of the opportunity, but I think it’s worth a try." She voiced out her thoughts, staring at him like he was a dream.
Her Cyrus...
Cyrus rose to his feet, his voice low. "I will try," he whispered, grasping her hand, and in a flash, they disappeared from the mansion, reappearing alongside their allies. Ashton, River, Katherine, Darren, Arthur, Freya, the treacherous four, Florin, and Reagan, all ready for battle.
Releasing Sage’s hand, he watched as she joined Katherine, while Ashton, River, and Reagan approached him, their eyes filled with concern.
"Cyrus, is this wise?" River asked, his brow furrowed. "You haven’t told her yet, have you?"
Cyrus sighed, his gaze drifting to Sage, who was embracing Katherine with enthusiasm. It was evident that the mages had already settled into their new home.
"I will tell her, but not just yet," he whispered, his eyes shifting to Ashton, who was grinning at him.
"You have a small army, are you certain about this?" He asked teasingly.
"I can’t afford to lose a single person," Cyrus replied, looking up at the sky. "This is the only way. We need to leave now."
Mirabella strode into the scene, her expression resolute. "You are not leaving without us!" she announced.
Isabella’s eyes went wide, shocked to see Cyrus had returned to his normal state. "You’re back!" she cried out.
Mirabella’s eyes narrowed, fixed on Sage and Katherine, who were laughing awkwardly. They waved at her, but her glare only hardened.
"It’s nearly midnight, let’s leave," she said to Cyrus, who nodded.
Katherine created a portal that led straight to the Statkus portal. As she looked at River, he smiled and blew her a kiss, making her blush.
Mirabella went through the portal first, followed by Darren and the Treacherous Four, with Florin waving excitedly at Roselle, whose cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Sage smiled calmly at Cyrus, whose eyes were filled with worry and fear for her safety.
"See you soon." She said.
"See you soon." He said.
"I will keep our baby safe too," she whispered, then quickly entered the portal, leaving him speechless.
Katherine’s eyes widened in astonishment. "Baby? What baby?!" she asked, before rushing into the portal, which closed with a soft whoosh.
Everyone else shifted into their dragon forms, Ashton’s dark wings burst forth while Cyrus mounted on River’s back with Snowflake materializing abruptly in his arms, his white fur gleaming under the moonlight.
And with that, they soared into the night, abandoning the mansion to its emptiness, its halls echoing with the silence of their departure.
....
In a harsh, snow-swept wasteland, the group gathered, their eyes fixed on the large portal in the distance.
Despite the vast distance between them, the mages and dragons could feel the ominous and negative force emanating from it, the whispers and screams carried on with the wind like a chilling melody.
But, to their surprise, an ice god stood guard before the portal, his silver hair whipping in the wind, his blue eyes gleaming coldly, and a sly smile playing on his lips.
That was not Alistair.
Sage’s eyes narrowed, her gaze fixed on the stranger, who seemed to be awaiting her arrival.
"That’s an ice god, right?" Logan, one of the Treacherous Four, asked, squinting his eyes.
"The ice gods created the Statkus mages. It seems he’s been waiting for us," Sage said, her fists clenched.
Suddenly, the ground began to tremble, but it wasn’t an earthquake. The cause was clear.
Thousands of Statkus mages were pouring out of the portal, their staffs held high, all marching towards them. Lianna stood at the forefront, her eyes fixed on Sage and her companions.
Sage swallowed tensely. "I can destroy the portal, but I need you all to survive,"
"We will." Katherine said, her expression, her stance, her tone throbbing with determination.
Mirabella transformed into her dragon form, roaring loudly while the treacherous four and Darren wore stern expressions, prepared to fight.
Sage smiled with great pride. "Very well, then. ATTACK!"
