Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 251: The good days (1)
"Stefan!" Sage exclaimed, shocked.
"Go to him; I will check on my mother." Whispering to her, Cyrus let go of her and disappeared inside the mansion.
Sage dashed towards Stefan and the ice god, who were exchanging blows. Stefan’s eyes were flashing and gleaming, and he shook his head repeatedly, attempting to control himself.
Sage clenched her teeth, extended her arms towards the ice god, and fire blasted him, sending him flying.
Stefan stood his ground, breathing hard and wiping the blood from his lips. He was startled by the heavy rainfall.
The eternal winter! It has been broken! This meant that those trapped as ice statues in the garden had returned to normal.
"Ashton.." He breathed a sigh of relief, but fear gripped him as he watched Sage approach the ice god, who rose to his feet and glared at her.
His eyes went wide, and he rushed towards Sage, but his legs buckled, and he fell to his knees, gasping for air.
Alan’s anger flared, "Foolish mortals, daring to challenge me!" He raised his hand to strike Sage, but a sudden blast intercepted him.
Instead of falling, he transformed into a radiant light, soared into the sky, and disappeared. Sage’s eyes followed the spectacle, then shifted to the source. Aurora, walking towards her with Cyrus’s support.
A smile spread across Sage’s face as she beheld the ethereal beauty of the ice goddess, her presence breathtakingly captivating.
"Sage." Aurora smiled, embracing her tightly.
Sage returned her hug, closing her eyes tightly. "I’m exhausted." She confessed.
Aurora smiled, caressing her wet hair. "You did well."
Cyrus looked at Stefan, who was watching him with a weak smile, his condition visibly deteriorating. "Mother. Is it possible to cure a dragon with a dark heart?"
Aurora moved away from Sage and gave Cyrus a nod, saying, "I can."
She approached Stefan, placed her hand on his head, and he let out a piercing scream before falling unconscious, his body limp.
Sage gasped, dashed towards him, and picked him up in her arms while Cyrus helped him to his feet.
Aurora sighed. "He will be fine when he awakens." She said,
Sage’s eyes welled with tears as she stared at her brother. She was overjoyed, but she could not keep the tears from falling.
Cyrus stared at her. He could tell she was happy, but he could not help but sigh.
"I will be on my way to see your father. Aurora suddenly spoke.
"Father?" Cyrus’ eyes widened as he shifted his gaze to his mother.
Aurora just smiled and vanished from sight.
"My father?" Cyrus still could not believe it. He looked at Sage, who was smiling at him.
"My father is alive." Cyrus laughed.
Sage laughed, nodding. "You are no longer the last ice dragon. How are you feeling?"
"Ecstatic!" Cyrus confessed, taking a deep breath. "And relieved."
....
*Two days later*
Cyrus and Sage chose to stay at the Leimpia mansion for the remaining days, while Aurora, Anghel, and the other ice dragons worked tirelessly to restore the kingdom to its former glory.
As the snow melted and the forest flourished, the oceans, lakes, and rivers thawed, and the sky remained a brilliant blue, radiant with sunshine.
Meanwhile, the rest of the kingdom mourned the loss of their loved ones, their grief a poignant reminder of the devastation that had been overcome.
As the kingdom returned to a sense of normalcy, the mages had all returned to Querencia, with River trailing behind Katherine.
Ashton accompanied Stefan back to Elisium, while Mirabella, Isabella, and Arthur returned to the castle.
Meanwhile, Florin, Reagan, and the chief warriors collaborated with the ice dragons to restore the damaged lands. The shadow dragon princes prepared to return to Esmond soon.
In the midst of this activity, Sage snuggled into Cyrus’s embrace, her eyes drooping as she fought to stay awake, a soft smile still on her lips.
Her eyes fluttered open, her voice sleepy. "I want to go to Elisium to wake my father."
Cyrus’s fingers traced gentle patterns in her hair. "I’ll come with you," he offered.
"No, you need to see your father. I’m heading to Querencia after Elisium to work with the mages. You should do the same in Antica."
His lips curved into a thoughtful pout. "Hmm."
Sage smiled at him. "Are you worried about something else? I can tell."
"The blood moon... I was supposed to go to Celestia to aid a friend of mine. Ophelia Novikov." He muttered anxiously.
Sage’s lips pressed together, her expression thoughtful. "River’s sister, Ophelia? I’m sure she’ll understand the delay. We can visit her once things are settled here."
Cyrus’s eyes widened, his face filled with a mix of excitement and protectiveness. "You’re carrying our child, Sage. No more wars or fighting for you."
Sage’s laughter was music to his ears. "You think I’d let you face danger alone? Think again, Cyrus Dragos."
Cyrus chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Fine, my fierce warrior. Have it your way."
....
As Sage entered the castle in Elisium, her nerves grew taut. Stefan led her through the halls, approaching the chamber where her father slumbered. Her fingers twisted in anxiety, her breath caught in her throat.
At the door, she paused, gathering Snowflake into her arms.
Stefan turned to her with a reassuring smile. "I’m just as nervous as you are, sister." Sage shook her head, her eyes locked on Snowflake, whose piercing eyes seemed to sense her unease.
The little nine tailed fox had been her constant companion lately, while Ares and Venus remained by Cyrus’s side.
With a deep breath, Sage steeled herself and nodded to Stefan. He chuckled and pushed the door open, revealing a chamber that was surprisingly clean and well-maintained.
Her father lay on the bed, his appearance robust and healthy despite his centuries-long slumber.
Sage’s smile grew as she approached him, taking in the familiar features that mirrored Stefan’s. His golden hair cascaded down his back, and she longed to see his vibrant emerald eyes.
Gently placing Snowflake on the bed, she reached out to touch her father’s forehead. As her fingers made contact, a bright glow emanated from them, and she closed her eyes, channeling her energy into the spell.
In a sudden, synchronized moment, both Rares and Sage’s eyes snapped open, their emerald gazes locking onto each other as they drew in a sharp breath.
Stefan’s tense shoulders relaxed, and he exhaled a sigh of relief, a warm smile spreading across his face at the sight of his sister and father reunited at last.
