Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 106: Overreacted
They were soon at the hotel Davian was staying at.
Ray could have denied it but he did mention he was going to meet up with Davian and Silvia heard it loud and clear.
There was a knock on Davian’s hotel room’s door. Davian who was just laying on the bed on his back, stood up to get it- It must be Ray.
He opened the door and his eyes almost bulged out at the sight of Silvia. His gaze went to Ray.
"She insisted," Ray shrugged. Ah, Davian almost face palm his face.
Silvia just walked in. "Uhm, I’m guessing you both need some privacy to talk. I’ll just go get the clothes," Ray excused himself.
Both Silvia and Davian stood, not saying anything for some while.
"I didn’t have you followed," she broke the silence.
"What?" he voiced.
"I didn’t spy and I wasn’t spying on you," Silvia continued.
"Then, how did you-"
"How did I get the photos? An unknown number keeps sending them to me. Believe me or not I’m not spying on you, I kept receiving the photos from this number," she showed him the number that keeps sending her the photos- On her phone.
"I don’t know who it might be but their motives must be to cause a stir between us so we can split up," she added.
"It was what I was trying to explain to you but you overreacted. You didn’t listen to me and just left," Silvia continued.
"(Scoffs) Photos or not Silvia, the photos aren’t the things that want to cause a stir between us. They aren’t the things that will lead to us splitting up but you trusting the photos so much more than your husband is what might!" he responded.
"You also overreacted and didn’t listen to my side of the story. You chose to trust the photos more than me-"
"And why wouldn’t I trust the photos when you keep spending time with that thing you call an ex," Silvia interrupted.
"Thing! Spending...(Huffs) you just admitted it, that you don’t trust me Silvia. When are we going to get pass this?!" he yelled. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"When you finally kick Leah out of your life for good!" Silvia yelled back.
"Why are you letting her come between us with so little efforts?!" he replied.
"You are the one doing it!" she responded and they both started heaving for breath as they stared intensly at each other.
"When are you coming home?" she finally asked, when she was all calm.
"When this whole Silvia in front of me, is finally exterminated," he replied.
She glared at him, "I’m not the problem. You, Leah, you both is what’s wrong with us? And who ever keeps sending those pics. You might not have feelings for her anymore but you still aren’t over her,"
"If you don’t want to come home...Then don’t come!" she added and walked out, slamming the door.
Davian let out a breath as he shuts his eyes, pinching the start of his nose between his shut eyes.
Oh Silvia, she was so unbelievable and impossible sometimes.
He slumped on the bed again. If she wasn’t the one spying on him, who then?
Someone that wants to stir up something between them so that they could split up.
He wouldn’t be surprised if Leah was responsible.
He stood up immediately and grabbed his keys. He drove off to Leah’s house, when he got there, he parked at the driveway and pushed her doorbell’s button.
She answered soon, "Davian..." he walked inside without an invite.
"I didn’t expect to see you," she shuts the door and caught up with him.
"Did you or did you not hire someone to take pics of us together so that you could send them to Silvia to infuriate her?!" Davian questioned.
"What? W-What are you talking about?" Leah asked.
"Just answer the damn question leah!" Davian trapped her on the wall.
"W-What I...I don’t know what you are talking about," Leah responded, her eyes darted over everywhere except Davian’s eyes.
This was the second time someone was bringing this up. The first was Silvia.
"It isn’t me..." she continues, a frown appeared on her pretty face, "But I have a hunch on who it might be,"
"Who?" Davian questioned.
"Becca," she replied.
"..."
Few minutes later, they were at Becca’s to confirm their suspicion. Seeing both of them at her doorsteps really took her aback.
"What would you like me to offer you?" Becca inquired.
"Nothing. Why did you do it Becca?! I know it’s you!" Leah started.
"What are you talking about?" Becca asked.
"Stop pretending, you know what I’m talking about. You or whoever you hired, took photos of Davian and I whenever we were alone together, then send it over to Silvia. You tried to frame me because you knew all eyes and blame would be on me," Leah elaborated.
"Becca, is all she said true?" Davian asked.
"What? Don’t tell me you believe what this thing is spouting. Of course not, it’s not true," Becca responded.
"Stop lying! You did this, you are responsible," Leah continued, glaring intensly at Becca who glared back.
"I didn’t. Davian?!" Becca turned her attention to Davian who shook his head;
"I don’t know what to believe anymore," he uttered and walked out.
Leah grabbed the collar of Becca’s shirt, pushing her to the walls.
"Get off me!" Becca pushed her hands off.
"Just say the truth, you once mentioned this to me but I declined," Leah revealed.
"I did what you couldn’t do, shouldn’t you be thanking me?" Becca finally admitted it. Yes, she truly was the one who hired someone to take photos of Davian and Leah together.
"Did I just hear you right?" they heard Davian say. Both ladies turned to him, they didn’t know when he had walked in.
"Davian..." Becca voiced, her eye a little widened.
"Urgh!" Davian walked out again, but for good this time.
"Davian!" Becca called after him but he was gone. She turned to Leah and glared at her, Leah scoffed and walked out as well.
"And FYI, from now on...I want nothing to do with you. I don’t need you help anymore," Leah added before she finally exited.
’That ungrateful b*tch!’ Becca thought. What was she going to do now?
Davian went back to the hotel, he met Ray waiting for him in the room.
"Where did you go?" Ray asked. "I got the clothes," he added.
"Thanks. I need some time alone," Davian replied.
Ray wanted to inquire about how it went with Silvia, but seeing the glum look on his face, he could tell it didn’t go well.
"Okay," he respected his privacy and left.
Davian slumped on the bed once again, his mind drift off to Silvia. He can’t believe she admitted that she didn’t trust him, he shouldn’t have let the conversation end like that. He will go back home tomorrow after work.
On the other hand, Silvia was also lying on their bed. She bit her lower lip after some while, why did she leave just like that? She shouldn’t have yelled like that.
Wouldn’t he really come back home? If he loves and misses her, he would.
She turned to her side. She missed him so much, thinking about it- he is right about some things. She was letting this whole issue come between them.
’Ah, I can’t believe I said I didn’t trust him!’ she thought. That must have hurt him- Whoever was sending her those pics, this was what they wanted. But she wouldn’t let it happen.
The next day at work, Becca walked into Davian’s office once he told her to come in. She stood in front of him, her head a little bowed. He was seated on his chair behind the table, completely immersed in his work on his laptop, he didn’t look up from his work even after she started talking.
"Davian... I’m sorry, for what I did, I didn’t know what came over me, why I did that. It will never happen again, I promise," Becca apologized.
"I will only forgive you once you apologize to Silvia as well," Davian replied.
What?
Becca didn’t respond for some while. "Okay,"
"I will."
"I will...take my leave now," she added when he didn’t reply.
Few hours later, Leah stopped by the firm as. She walked into Davian’s office as well but she didn’t hear any response before walking in. When she walked in, he was asleep- His head on his desk on top of his arms.
She walked cautiously towards him, he was already so fast asleep. He must be so tired. She carefully brought a chair towards where he was and sat close to him.
She watches him as he slept on, his hair fell to his handsome face. It’s really been so long since she watched his sleeping face, she smiled as she continued to gaze at him tirelessly.
She watched him sleep for more than a hour, she didn’t even realize how long it has been until the door opened and Ray poked his head in.
Leah turned her gaze to him, "He’s sleeping," she whispered.
"Oh okay, but it’s closing time. We need to go home," Ray replied.
"You guys should go ahead, I’ll wake him up soon and we follow," Leah responded. Ray nodded and shut the door.
Leah continued to watch Davian and didn’t wake him up. Davian soon wake up, "Hmm, how long has it been?" he asked once he had noticed her, he can’t believe he fell asleep.
"Three hours or more maybe because you were already sleeping when I came in," she replied.
He nodded.
"What’s wrong Davian?" Leah asked so concerned.
"You know what’s wrong," he replied.
"I would never doubt you," Leah expressed. "But... I’m sorry, this is partially my fault,"
He placed his elbow on the table and rested his head on his palm, he smiled a little drowsily at her.
"It’s okay," he said.
Her eyes went to his lips, she missed it on hers. She couldn’t help but move closer and her lips were soon connected to his.
