Chapter 113: Eira’s News Reached Henry

Eira sat on the plush couch in the sunlit corner of the café.

Sana sipped tea.

But Eira couldn’t hide her excitement; it bubbled up like a wellspring.

"I still can’t believe it, Sana. I’m going to be a mom," Eira said, her hands resting gently on her stomach, though she wasn’t showing yet.

Sana smiled warmly. "I can tell how happy you are. It suits you."

"I never knew I would want this," Eira continued.

"A family. A chance to raise a child in a home filled with love and safety."

"And you’ll be amazing at it," Sana replied. "Callian must be over the moon."

Eira laughed. "He’s been trying to play it cool, but I caught him buying books on parenting before we came back home. He’s probably already planning out the nursery."

Sana chuckled. "That sounds like him."

Eira’s tone shifted. "But before I can fully step into this new Chapter, I need to finish all the business I’ve started. I don’t want any loose ends hanging over my head—or the baby’s life."

"What do you mean?" Sana asked, frowning slightly.

"Mita, Vanessa, Henry... all of them. They’ve tried to ruin me and Callian, to hurt us. I need to put an end to it, once and for all. Being a mom is what I want to focus on now. Nothing else matters."

Sana’s brows knit together. "You’re taking on a lot, Eira. Maybe Callian can—"

"This is my fight, Sana. He’s already carrying so much. If I can handle my part, I will."

Neither of them noticed the shadow near the half-open door.

Outside, a woman pretended to scroll through her phone while catching every word.

She was Mita’s friend, planted here under the guise of casual acquaintance.

The woman quickly left, dialing her phone as she walked down the street.

Mita lounged on a chaise in her lavish apartment, her perfectly manicured nails tapping against her glass of wine.

She answered the call on the first ring.

"You’ve got news?" Mita asked lazily.

"Yes, and you’re going to love this," the woman on the other end whispered. "Eira’s pregnant."

The glass in Mita’s hand stopped midair. Her lips curved into a slow frown. "Pregnant, you say?"

"She’s trying to tie up loose ends before the baby arrives. Sounds like she’s planning something big."

"Of course, she is," Mita muttered. "Good work. Keep listening. I’ll handle the rest."

The call ended, and Mita didn’t waste a second.

She dialed another number, waiting impatiently as the line connected.

Vanessa was stuffing clothes into a suitcase when her phone rang.

She snatched it up.

"What is it, Mita? I’m busy."

"Packing, are we?" Mita drawled.

Vanessa gritted her teeth. "Father threw me out. Can you believe the audacity? After everything I’ve done for him?"

Mita smirked. "Oh, I can believe it. But I’ve got something that might cheer you up."

Vanessa sighed, zipping up her suitcase. "What now?"

"Your favorite little rival, Eira, is pregnant."

The suitcase fell off the bed with a thud. Vanessa’s eyes widened. "Pregnant?"

"That’s right," Mita purred. "She’s planning to finish her business with us before the baby arrives. She’s getting bold, Vanessa. We can’t let her win."

"Where did you hear this?"

"Let’s just say I have ears everywhere," Mita replied smugly. "But here’s the best part—you could use this information to your advantage."

Vanessa’s mind worked quickly, her bitterness toward Eira boiling over.

She grabbed her jacket, her lips curved into a grin. "I’ll take it straight to Father. Let’s see how he feels about his favorite daughter keeping secrets."

"Now you’re thinking," Mita said approvingly.

Henry sat in his grand study, staring at the fireplace with a glass of bourbon in his hand.

The room was silent, broken only by the faint crackle of the flames.

Vanessa stormed in.

"I thought I told you to leave," Henry said coldly, not bothering to look at her.

"Oh, you’re going to want to hear this," Vanessa said, dropping her jacket on a nearby chair.

Henry finally shifted to her. "What could you possibly say that would interest me?"

"Your precious Eira is pregnant."

The glass in Henry’s hand froze mid-air. His eyes narrowed. "What did you just say?"

"You heard me," Vanessa replied smugly. "She’s keeping it from everyone, Father. Doesn’t even trust her dear father enough to share the news."

Henry’s jaw clenched. "How do you know this?"

"Let’s just say I have reliable sources," Vanessa said, shrugging.

Henry stood abruptly. "If you’re lying..."

"Oh, I’m not. But I thought you’d want to know. After all, isn’t she your golden child? Or has she already decided to put you in jail?"

Henry’s hand tightened around the glass until it cracked, the shards cutting into his palm. Blood dripped onto the floor, but he didn’t seem to notice.

Vanessa’s smile faltered slightly, but she didn’t step back. "What are you going to do, Father?"

He turned to her. "That’s none of your concern."

Vanessa raised an eyebrow, feigning indifference.

"Suit yourself. But don’t say I didn’t warn you when she and Callian decide to cut you out of the picture entirely. You’re not going to be the grandpa you wished she would let you be, no matter how many good things you’re going to do for her."

Henry didn’t respond.

Vanessa grabbed her jacket and headed for the door, a satisfied smirk on her face. "Good luck, Father. You’re going to need it."

As the door slammed shut behind her, Henry stared into the fireplace, the flames reflecting in his eyes.

"So," he muttered to himself, "Eira’s pregnant..."

His voice was low, almost a growl. "This changes everything."

There was something in his chest that lightened up. If he could destroy everyone who hurt Eira, maybe she would let him be next to her and the baby.

Maybe, if he put Beatrice and Steven in jail, Eira would forgive him for everything and allow him into her life.

Maybe, she would show him love...

"Mike!" he shouted.

"Yes, Mr. Blackwood?"

"Call my lawyer immediately. I need to get my divorce ready, so I won’t sink with the ship."
