Chapter 116: The Nightclub Owner, Elias

Elias entered the nightclub through the back door, the dim daylight barely filtered through the tinted windows.

The space was eerily quiet, thankfully before the night was supposed to begin.

William was seated in the VIP lounge, with a thick file spread across the table in front of him.

A maid—one of Elias’s planted spies was sitting beside William, shifting nervously.

She avoided eye contact as she spoke in a weird low voice.

"These are all the documents, Mr. Elias," she said. "Everything I could find about Mrs. Blackwood’s deals."

Elias flipped through the papers, "You’ve done well. Is this all of it?"

The maid hesitated, then nodded. "Yes, sir. But there’s something else... She’s been meeting with Mike. Frequently. They seem... close."

Elias stayes still.

"Mike," he repeated.

"Yes, sir. I think... they’re more than just allies."

Elias dismissed her with a nod.

Once she left, he muttered to himself, "So, Beatrice has been playing games even Henry doesn’t know about. Typical."

He leaned back, running a hand through his hair.

He moves his eyes toward a framed picture of Eira.

"I need to tell her," Elias said aloud, feeling heavy with guilt.

"She deserves to know the truth about Liam. She deserves to know everything."

As he stood, ready to leave, the door to the club opened.

The sound of footsteps echoed through the empty space.

"Well, well, well," came a smooth, familiar voice.

Elias spun around suddenly, his eyes tightened with intensity as Callian stepped into view.

Callian’s hands were tucked casually into his pockets, his smile was striking and keen.

"So this is where you run your little empire," Callian said, his tone was casual, yet tinged with sarcasm.

"I have to say, it suits you, Elias."

Elias’s jaw tightened. "What are you doing here, Callian?"

Callian ignored the question, his eyes sweeped the room before landing on the files scattered across the table.

His smile widened.

"Ah, paperwork. Always a sign of shady business."

William stood up, his frown deepened at the sight of Callian.

Callian’s eyes flicked to him. "William. I should’ve known you’d be involved. Loyalty’s a funny thing, isn’t it?"

William bristled, but Elias held up a hand to stop him. "What do you want, Callian?"

"Oh, I’m just here for a chat," Callian said, sauntering closer.

"You see, I couldn’t help but notice something... off about this place. Drugs being supplied under the radar. Illegal... transactions."

Elias stiffened, but his face remained impassive. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Callian’s smile didn’t fade.

"Come on, Elias. Don’t insult my intelligence. We both know what kind of place this is. And we both know how dangerous it could be if certain... details were made public."

"You’re making a lot of assumptions," Elias replied coldly.

"Am I?" Callian tilted his head, his smile disappeared slightly.

"Let’s talk specifics then. I know about the girls. The ones who didn’t consent but were forced anyway. And I know about the drugs you allow to flow through here. You’re not just running a nightclub, Elias. You’re running a cesspool."

William took a step forward, his fists clenched. "Watch your mouth."

Callian didn’t even glance at him. "Careful, William. You don’t want to make this worse for your boss."

Elias stepped between them, "You don’t know what you’re talking about, Callian."

"Oh, but I do," Callian said, his tone turned icy.

"And I’m telling you this because I’m giving you a chance. Stay away from Eira. Whatever game you’re playing, whatever guilt you’re carrying—leave her out of it."

Elias’s eyes flashed. "You don’t get to tell me what to do. Eira is—"

"Eira is my wife," Callian cut in, his voice rising.

"And I will protect her from people like you. From everyone like you."

The two men stared at each other, the tension between them crackled like a live wire.

"I’m not your enemy, Callian," Elias said finally.

"But if you think you can control everything, you’re mistaken."

Callian laughed, "Control? No, Elias. I don’t need to control you. I just need to make sure you know the consequences of stepping out of line."

William moved closer again, his face set in a scowl. "You don’t scare us."

Callian’s eyes were cold and dismissive. "I wasn’t talking to you, William."

Elias raised a hand, signaling William to back off.

"You’ve made your point, Callian. But you should remember something."

"And what’s that?"

"You’re not as untouchable as you think," Elias said.

Callian’s smile returned, but full of warning. "Neither are you."

He turned to leave, but before he reached the door, he paused, glancing back over his shoulder.

"Oh, and Elias? If I hear even a whisper of your name near Eira again, I’ll make sure this place doesn’t see another sunrise."

Elias remained silent, his jaw clenched and fists tightening at his sides, focusing on Callian as he strode out.

The air in the nightclub thickened, charged with unspoken anger as the door swung shut behind him.

As the door closed behind him, William turned to Elias. "Are we just going to let him walk away?"

Elias’s eyes stayed on the door. "No. But for now, we wait."

"How long do we need to wait?"

"Not long. I will wait for Henry to divorce Beatrice first. I need to ensure Eira’s safety first before striking them both."

"But this is going to cause Eira a lot of distress."

"You know..." the spy finally spoke.

"Yes?" Elias turned around.

"I’m not sure if it’s true exactly. But Eira is pregnant with Callian’s child."

Both men felt like the ground beneath them was trying to soak them in.

This couldn’t be true. Eira couldn’t have Callian’s baby. She shouldn’t.

"Why the Reed...why him?" William spoke through gritted teeth.

"I don’t want to be associated with him either. I wanted her to have your baby, William."

"We must do everything to prevent her from giving birth to that child."

"Eira is my sister...but I can’t let this happen." Elias clenched his fists.

"The baby shouldn’t be born."
