Chapter 139: Christmas Morning

Eira stirred, her body ached from the night before.

Her back was sore, and her legs felt heavy, but the warm blankets wrapped around her made it a little easier to open her eyes.

The faint smell of pine and chocolate lingered in the air, and she blinked a few times, trying to remember where she was.

The room came into focus—the soft grey walls, the golden light of the Christmas tree outside her door.

Callian’s penthouse..."so that wasn’t a dream?"

Her heart clenched as she recalled the night, his apology, the tears and the wild thing in his pants.

She let out a shaky breath, trying to gather her thoughts.

The door opened, and there he was.

Callian stepped in, holding a tray with two steaming mugs of hot chocolate.

His eyes softened when they met hers.

"You’re awake," he said, his voice warm but cautious.

Eira sat up slowly, wincing at the stiffness in her shoulders.

"Barely," she muttered, running a hand through her tangled hair.

Callian crossed the room in a few steps, placing the tray on the nightstand.

"You didn’t move all night. You must’ve been exhausted."

She nodded, taking one of the mugs he handed her.

The warmth seeped into her hands, comforting her.

She took a small sip, letting the rich sweetness soothe her.

"Come with me," Callian said suddenly in a light but insistent voice.

"Where?" Eira asked, confused.

He didn’t answer. Instead, he set his mug down and gently scooped her into his arms.

"Callian, I can walk," she protested, but her voice lacked conviction.

"Not today," he said softly, carrying her out of the room.

When they entered the living room, Eira’s eyes widened.

The tree sparkled brighter in the morning light, but it wasn’t the decorations that caught her attention.

Beneath the tree, an overwhelming pile of beautifully wrapped presents seemed to be waiting.

"What... is this?" she asked, whispering.

Callian set her down on the couch, sitting beside her with a small smile. "Merry Christmas, Eira."

She stared at him, her mouth slightly open. "All of this? For me?"

He nodded. "Every single one. I didn’t know what to get, so I might have gone overboard."

"Callian..." she began, but he interrupted her.

"Just open them. Start anywhere."

Hesitant but curious, Eira reached for the first box, wrapped in shimmering gold paper.

She untied the ribbon carefully, revealing a sleek orange Birkin bag.

Her fingers grazed the leather, her eyes widened, not being able to believe it...

"You didn’t..." she whispered.

He chuckled. "I did. Keep going."

She moved on to the next box, uncovering a classic black Chanel handbag, then a pair of Louboutin heels, followed by a set of diamond earrings from Cartier.

The room was filled with unwrapped boxes and luxurious gifts in no time, but Eira’s head spun with confusion.

"This is too much," she said, shaking her head. "I don’t need any of this, Callian."

"You deserve it," he said simply, handing her one last box.

It wasn’t wrapped like the others. It was a plain white envelope.

"What’s this?" she asked, holding it cautiously.

Callian’s expression softened. "The most important one. It’s for the baby."

Eira frowned slightly but opened it carefully.

Inside was a single sheet of paper—official-looking, stamped with a logo she recognized instantly.

She stared at it, her heart racing. "Callian, what is this?"

"It’s the baby’s gift," he said gently. "I’ve signed over my main company. It’ll belong to the baby when the time comes. Everything I’ve built... it’ll be theirs."

Eira’s hands trembled as she looked at him. "You’re giving this to our child? Just like that?"

Callian nodded. "The company, the shares, the inheritance—it’s all for them. I want to make sure they’ll always be protected, no matter what."

Her lips parted, but no words came out.

She was overwhelmed, confused, and a little awestruck. "Callian... this is..."

He leaned closer, wrapping his arms around her. "I love you, Eira," he murmured, his voice started breaking slightly.

"I know I’ve hurt you, but I love you more than anything. And I’ll spend the rest of my life proving it to you and our baby."

Eira let out a long sigh, her chest tightened...his words hit her like a huge ocean wave.

Her mind spun with everything he had done—the gifts, the company, his confession—but somewhere deep down, she felt small stirrings of hope.

"I have something for you too," she said suddenly in a shaky voice.

Callian blinked, surprised. "For me?"

She nodded, standing carefully. "Wait here."

She disappeared into the bedroom, rummaging through her bag until she found it: a small, neatly wrapped box with a simple ribbon.

She held it close for a moment, taking a deep breath before returning to the living room.

Callian looked at her curiously as she handed him the box.

"This is for you," she said quietly, sitting back down beside him.

He untied the ribbon, his long fingers worked carefully, as if afraid to damage it. When he opened the box, his breath caught.

Inside was a single piece of paper—a black-and-white ultrasound image.

"This..." Callian’s voice trailed off, looking at the picture.

"It’s the first ultrasound," Eira explained softly, her voice trembled, but she was trying not to show it.

"I was saving it, waiting for the right moment." freewebnσvel.cøm

Callian’s face changed.

His lips parted, his eyes started shining as he stared at the tiny, blurry image.

He touched the paper lightly, as if it might break in his hands.

"This is..." he began, but his voice cracked. He swallowed hard. "It’s perfect."

Eira watched him, her own eyes filled with tears as she saw the raw joy on his face.

He smiled, a real, unguarded smile, and for the first time in what felt like forever, she saw the man she had once fallen in love with.

Callian pulled her close, his arms wrapped around her as he held the ultrasound between his fingers.

"Thank you," he muttered. "This is the best gift I’ve ever received."

Eira rested her head against his chest, her heart felt heavy with bricks, but it was warm. "Merry Christmas, Callian."

He kissed the top of her head, holding her tightly. "Merry Christmas, Eira."
