When Julian looked around the ground, he noticed that there weren't that many places to be anymore.

'This is a lot of blood. Isn't he afraid that he will bleed out?'

He wondered, but when he looked at Edwin, he was still smiling and seemingly unfazed by the immense blood loss.

'That guy is weird as hell. Is no one fucking normal over here?'

Julian clicked his tongue and then jumped over the trails of blood, making sure that not a single drop touched him.

He crossed the distance to Edwin and was about to punch, but as soon as he reached the attacking range, Edwin reached out his hand towards him.

"Sharpening Edge!"

Julian slapped the arm away and punched towards his face, but Edwin put his left hand in front of his face.

If he went through with his punch, the hand would touch him!

'Do you think I care?'

Julian smirked with a defiant gaze.

"Metal Smash!"

Edwin's eyes widened in shock as he noticed that he wasn't planning to stop his punch.

The fist smashed into his hand and then pushed his hand into his face. Smack. The impact pushed his head back, causing him to stumble backwards.

It was such a powerful yank that at first glance it looked like his head would fly off his shoulders, but in the end, his neck made sure that his head stayed firmly in place.

'Edwin touched him!'

The coach of Kanyon High grinned victoriously.

'A big mistake, Julian Noah.'

Thorsten thought with a smirk on his face.

At that moment, green veins appeared on Julian's left arm, which he used to throw the punch, and those green veins went all the way to his shoulder.

Suddenly, his arm lost all the feeling, and he could no longer control it as it flopped uselessly at his side.

He tried to move his fingers, but they didn't even twitch. It was like the arm didn't belong to him anymore!

'Paralyzing poison? Great…'

Julian's eyebrow twitched in annoyance.

"Oh no, he is poisoned!"

Dominic cried out.

"Shit… I hope they have an antidote for that shit. Otherwise Julian only has one arm left for the rest of the nationals."

Coach Jin massaged his temples with a look of annoyance.

He didn't like the fact that they allowed Edwin to use poison in the nationals. He realized that he must have a strange physique that allowed him to store poison inside his body, but he still didn't like that.

It felt unfair.

In Montclair High's locker room.

"A poison user? That's some next-level cheating!"

Mateo said with a wry smile, but after saying that, he remembered what happened in the round of 64 matches and kept his mouth shut.

He had suspicions of what happened in that match, but he didn't dare to speak to anyone about it.

"…"

Alabaster watched the match go on and then turned around to check how Zachary was doing.

He was sipping on his water bottle, but his leg was twitching, and a crazed look was etched on his face.

'I didn't expect him to become so… addicted to the feeling of being strong. It's bothersome, but I guess that's what happens when you give someone weak too much power.

'I just need him to behave till the nationals is over. After that, once his victory is secured, I don't care what happens to his body.

'The spot for Junior Martial Arts Championships will be secured, at least…'

At that moment, Zachary suddenly dropped his water bottle, and once it landed on the floor, it spilled all over the place.

Everyone in the locker room turned to look at him with confused looks.

"Huff…"

Zachary stood up with his eyes dyed red, and then, with a crazed look, turned towards Mateo, who froze under his gaze.

"Mateo…"

"Y-y-y-y-yes?!"

Mateo stuttered like someone who was freezing cold.

"Be my sparring partner. That is an order."

Zachary cracked his enormous fists and approached him with stomping steps.

"U-uh, but… C-coach?"

Mateo pleaded with puppy eyes, hoping that his coach would make this crazy motherfucker called Zachary stop.

"If it is just a sparring match, that is fine. Just don't break any bones this time."

Alabaster said casually.

Mateo's blood was immediately drained off his body, and his body started trembling like a chihuahua that had just seen a cat.

Everyone else in the locker room just turned their gaze away from the scene. They didn't want to end up as Zachary's sparring partner.

Zachary slammed his enormous fist at Mateo's abdomen and sent him flying to the wall with a loud crash.

"Urgh!"

Mateo collapsed on the ground on his knees and hurled the contents of his stomach onto the floor.

"Stand up."

Zachary ordered.

"P-please… n-no more."

"Stand up!"

Zachary lifted him up by his hair and then threw him at the ceiling, knocking him out cold. The impact was so severe that it left a dent in the ceiling.

"Take him to the infirmary. I'll need him back before our match starts."

Alabaster said with a casual tone in his voice.

"…"

Lazaro lowered his head and carried Mateo out of the locker room.

Touch!

Edwin's hand touched Julian's left shoulder once more, and this time around, the paralyzing poison reached the other side of his face.

That side of the face immediately began to go numb, and it drooped down in an unnatural manner.

"S-shit…"

Julian's words came out unclear and slurred as he struggled to maintain control over his facial muscles.

The fight had a sudden turn!

In the first half of the fight, Julian was controlling the pace, and everyone expected him to win rather easily, but shockingly enough, Edwin was now controlling the match!

"Come on, Julian!"

"You can do it!"

"Why are you struggling against him? Aren't you supposed to be strong?!"

The audience shouted.

"Go, Edwin!"

"Bring glory to Kanyon!"

"You're doing great! Bring it home!"

Hearing the cheers made Edwin's smile grow, and he even started to believe in his own victory.

'If I win, Thorsten must be extremely proud of me. I won't disappoint them!'
