Martial Ascent to Divinity-Chapter 526 - 509: Ascending the Stars
In a tomb resembling a palace.
A young Giant, approximately three meters tall, covered entirely by a thick layer of ice, sat on the throne.
The throne emitted an endless chill, forming a peculiar power that preserved the young Giant’s body.
The Celestial Calamity Envoy slowly approached the Giant.
"Found you."
After speaking, multicolored lights emanated from his body, and thirty-six Demon Artifacts flew out.
They transformed into thirty-six stars, illuminating the young Giant on the throne.
The body of the Black Sun’s Gut suddenly trembled, collapsing to the ground like sludge.
A red light shot out, burrowing into the young Giant’s forehead.
Time passed by the minute and second.
Three hours later, the young Giant opened his eyes, within them, a sinister Giant shadow flickered.
Strange energies spread across him, slowly melting the ice layer on the young Giant’s body.
After the last piece of ice melted into water, the young Giant rose slowly.
His joints emitted a faint sound.
The new Celestial Calamity Envoy descended the steps, initially with stiff steps, becoming more natural with each stride.
The small blue Giant moved slowly forward, a fiery sun tattoo branded on the back of his neck.
Exiting the great hall, the Celestial Calamity Envoy glanced at his new body, his brows slightly furrowed.
"This body is, after all, too ancient, but it is the most complete starry body found in the Ten Realms so far. Once back in the Demon Purgatory, a more comprehensive Divine Descent can take place..."
He thought this to himself, looking up towards the skies above the Great Battlefield.
The Celestial Ladder descended, yet he was excluded.
"Time to search for the ’Mountain Slaying Battle Body’..."
The Celestial Calamity Envoy said he would go searching, yet stood there, eyes full of nostalgia.
After a long while, he gazed at the endless Great Battlefield, and slowly opened his mouth.
"What God seeks, thou shall reveal thyself."
After saying this, his gaze dimmed, and his aura slightly waned.
Outside the Teleportation Gate at Celestial Bone City.
Lord He suddenly turned his head, looking towards the distant purple mist.
In his eyes, light flowed, as if high in the sky, revealing the distant ground scenery.
A Demon was persuading the Giant.
Giant Dragons intercepted the Dwarves, Tree-men, and Demon Spirit Masters.
Demons and Sea Sirens allied, with the volcanic giant turtle Crack-Shell as the leader, attacking humanity.
Xu Ming, who was originally in the purple mist trial, heard the warning and returned halfway, gathering everyone to battle the Demons and Sea Sirens.
The Dwarves, Tree-men, and Demon Spirit Masters were blocked by the Giant Dragons, unable to assist.
The Giants were not allied with the Human Race, and with the Frost Giant Duke absent, they had no reason to help.
Human martial artists fought alone.
The battle grew increasingly fierce.
Suddenly, several martial artists from the Eagle Alliance, Seagull Alliance, Elephant Country, the Southern Isles, and the Sands betrayed their Human comrades.
Seeing this, even after being away from Blue Star for many years, Lord He cursed quietly.
In the early Ten Realms Wars, martial artists from various countries suffered greatly from these betraying nations.
The martial artists were well-prepared and mostly evaded the traitorous ambushes.
Even so, four Human martial artists were killed in these sneak attacks.
Lord He looked at Xu Ming’s figure, letting out a long sigh.
He could not step out of the purple mist.
Thinking to himself, he turned to look at Zhou Leng entering the Teleportation Gate.
Inside the Teleportation Gate, it was pitch-black.
Zhou Leng seemed to be in a pure black void, waiting quietly.
Meanwhile, a faint mechanical Divine Text voice came to his ears.
"Civilization detection passed... Bloodline detection passed... Unknown Celestial Region... Martial Artists of All Races..."
Zhou Leng listened carefully, but some of the Divine Text pronunciations were indeed difficult to understand.
Finally, the voice stopped, and another, somewhat aged voice spoke.
"Child of an Elementary Civilization, congratulations on completing the Divine Majesty Trial. You have taken the first step on the Path to Divinity."
"However, this first step has not yet landed."
"Only when you are conferred as a ’Divine Communicator’, watched by the eyes of the Ascension to Divinity Great Loop, will this step be considered officially taken."
"The trial faced by ordinary Celestial Bone Warriors is a beast-like slaughter, but not for you."
"In a distant place stands a Burial Star Monument. Though broken, it still contains an incredible Martial Arts Will."
"Go there, inherit that Martial Arts Will; this is your second trial."
"If you cannot complete it, you will be thrown into the endless calamity battlefield along with the next batch of Celestial Bone Warriors until the war ends."
"My God watches over you, hoping you do not disappoint My God."
"The Mad God Army will inevitably be your final destination."
"Before you leave, first receive My God’s blessing."
"Go now, ultimate warrior."
A glimmer of spiritual light flew over, settling in the center of the brow.
Zhou Leng instantly saw a colossal map, stretching from the Remnant Celestial Bone all the way to the Burial Star Monument.
Numerous positions were marked between them.
Far more detailed than any map obtained before.
A flash of light flickered before his eyes, and he was back outside the Teleportation Gate.
He Pengfei saw Zhou Leng come out and asked, "How did it go?"
"I have to receive the blessing first and then head to the Burial Star Monument."
Upon hearing this, He Pengfei analyzed, "The Burial Star Monument... it’s an excellent trial but also extremely challenging. Not to mention encountering all sorts of oddities along the way, even if you reach the monument, you might not be able to comprehend it fully."
"What is the Burial Star Monument?" Zhou Leng asked.
"I don’t know exactly what it is, I can only piece together various scattered reports. The true Burial Star Monument is a creation of a great divine spirit overseeing a celestial region, imprinting one collapsing civilization after another onto the monument, transforming them into Divine Text in the form of starlight, containing some kind of Spiritual Will power."
"The star monument of the Great Battlefield can’t be of that level, it should be a replica of the Burial Star Monument. It is a powerful divine spirit that refines one divine relic after another into Divine Text of starlight, imprinting the monument."
"The replica of the Burial Star Monument in the Great Battlefield is very powerful, crafted by a remarkably talented divine spirit, reportedly even praised by My God, but unfortunately, they fell in the end. If you can fully comprehend it, it would enhance Martial Arts Will in your attacks."
Zhou Leng asked a few more things, and He Pengfei answered them one by one.
"Let’s go, I’ll take you to choose the final blessing. Remember..."
He Pengfei looked around and whispered, "The quartermaster will set up some trickery when you choose; he hopes you pick something inferior, but you must choose ’Mount Ascension.’ You told me before that you have a Giant Body, that reward is the most suitable for you. This Remnant Celestial Bone Trial is already a modification based on the High-level Giants Trial, and Mount Ascension is the essence of the High-level Giants Trial."
"Okay!" Zhou Leng trusted He Pengfei’s organizational skills.
"It’s a pity that I probably won’t have the chance to choose Mount Ascension in my lifetime... I hope you can."
There was some regret and also some anticipation in He Pengfei’s voice.
The two found the quartermaster, who was a peculiar beast with the lower body of a large, fat black worm and the upper body of a chubby little giant, with a face resembling a Beastman, standing five meters tall.
The quartermaster spoke in awkward Dragon Country language, listing various blessings and boasting extravagantly.
If not for He Pengfei’s reminder, Zhou Leng would have been attracted to those bizarre rewards like "Great Wilderness Dominant Body," "Endless Divine Pool," "Divine Dreamland," but his trust in He Pengfei kept him unmoved.
"I choose Mount Ascension," Zhou Leng said.
"Uh..."
The quartermaster glanced at He Pengfei and smiled, "You are an alien, and from an Elementary Civilization, so you don’t understand..."
He rambled on while Zhou Leng completely ignored him, only pondering, have I become an alien?
"...So, please tell me your final choice." The quartermaster smiled.
"Mount Ascension," Zhou Leng replied.
"Alright then..." The quartermaster gave He Pengfei a fierce glare, but He Pengfei’s face remained indifferent.
No one dared to mess with the ultimate warrior’s request.
The quartermaster donned a smile and led the two to a Teleportation Gate, "You truly are a wise ultimate warrior, Mount Ascension is indeed the great High-level Giants Trial. I was previously worried your body couldn’t handle it, so I didn’t recommend it. Mount Ascension only opens once a century, once you use it, no one can use it for another century..."
The quartermaster began praising Mount Ascension, lavishing compliments on Zhou Leng.
Upon reaching a Teleportation Gate glowing with a deep blue light, the quartermaster began to prattle again.
But this time, Zhou Leng listened attentively, because this guy provided numerous details even He Pengfei didn’t know.
After the quartermaster finished speaking, Zhou Leng expressed his gratitude.
The quartermaster breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Please, honorable ultimate warrior, enter."
Zhou Leng stepped through the Teleportation Gate.
The quartermaster looked down at He Pengfei, generally looking down on this human, or rather, all the Elementary Civilizations of the Great Battlefield.
He was, after all, part of an Intermediate Civilization.
Nevertheless, he forced a smile as wide as intestinal folds and said, "Lord He, congratulations, with an ultimate warrior, you may ultimately leave this godforsaken place and enter the main star, with a chance to become a noble main star resident."
"You’re too kind, the Celestial Bone Trial and Celestial Tier Trial combined are incredibly difficult, and he might not succeed. Even if he does, who knows how many years before he can go to the main star."
"I see he is incredibly powerful, surely destined to ascend one day..."
The quartermaster continued chatting with He Pengfei.
Inside the Teleportation Gate.
Ahead, a majestic mountain reached straight into the starry sky.
The mountain was bare, steep, with relatively smooth slopes, unlike natural hills.
Zhou Leng had never seen such a tall mountain, even the exaggeratedly tall mountains of the Giant World seemed like small mounds before this giant peak.
At the summit of the mountain, countless stars formed a giant star ring.
Upon closer inspection, those were galaxies gathered into a giant star ring.
There were so many and so tightly packed that it created an illusion, as if all the galaxies in the universe converged into this colossal star ring.
Out of the corner of his eye, one giant after another walked out, each carrying a massive stone sphere on their back.
Their forms were blurry, but each stood over twenty meters tall.
Demigod Giants.
Each Demigod Giant was slightly hunched over, the stone spheres they carried were over a hundred meters in diameter.
Engraved with fiery sun marks, these stone spheres created a powerful force that increased their weight.
"Don’t just stand there, let’s start today’s training."
A colossal Demigod Giant passed by, glancing sideways at Zhou Leng, and with that said, climbed the mountain with a gigantic stone on his back.
