Chapter 35 - 35 : To Germany
---
Prague, Five-Star Hotel
The grand hotel room on the third floor was silent, the glow of the city lights filtering through the lavish curtains.
The door creaked open.
"Finn, are you asleep?"
Wanda stepped in, her red-tinted gaze sweeping the dimly lit room. The bed was unmade, a few pieces of clothing carelessly strewn across the sheets.
Crack...crack!
The sound of water droplets hitting the tiled floor echoed from the bathroom.
"Sorry, I was showering. Haven't had the chance to clean up yet."
Finn stepped out, barefoot on the cold floor, a towel draped around his shoulders as he ran his fingers through damp strands of dark hair.
His freshly showered skin carried the scent of something light—faint traces of lavender and heat still lingering in the air.
Wanda's gaze flickered, landing on Finn's bare shoulders before quickly shifting away.
"You didn't sneak out just now, did you?"
She picked up the scattered clothing absentmindedly. Wanda didn't want to restrict Finn's freedom—she never had.
But tonight, Prague was dangerous. The chaos earlier—the appearance of those Hellfire-powered creatures, the near destruction of the amusement park, and the ghost still lurking in the shadows—made it hard for her to ignore the sense of unease curling in her stomach.
"No," Finn said smoothly, stepping forward, heis fingers brushing against Wanda's waist as he pulled her closer.
A sharp inhale.
Before Wanda could react, Finn had buried his face against the crook of her neck, his breath warm against her skin.
"Are you tired?" Finn murmured against her throat.
Wanda exhaled, pressing her palm against Finn's chest to keep some distance, but her fingers hesitated for a moment.
"I'm not tired. I barely had to lift a finger—everything was handled by the Shadow. That guy's powerful. Nick Fury won't have to worry about superheroes disappearing anytime soon."
Her voice was steady, recounting the events of the night.
But Finn wasn't listening.
Instead, his grip tightened, his voice dropping into something low, something dangerous.
"Well... since you worked so hard on the mission, maybe it's my turn to reward you."
Wanda blinked, realization dawning too late.
"I just said I wasn't tired—let go."
A flicker of mischief in Finn's dark eyes.
Wanda barely had time to react before she was suddenly yanked against the mattress.
She let out a sharp gasp as she hit the bed, Finn's body pinning her down, lips brushing dangerously close to her ear.
"You're lying."
Wanda's heart pounded.
"Finn—don't."
She stuck out her tongue after she spoke, regretting the way her voice wavered slightly.
Damn it.
She knew this game. She'd fallen for it before—believing Finn's ridiculous claims of not crossing the line.
Only to find out that Finn had a very creative definition of what counted as "the line."
Wanda quickly pushed against Finn's chest, struggling to break free.
"We're flying to Germany soon!"
Finn stilled.
"What?"
"I forgot to tell you earlier—the plan changed. I need to attend a security meeting."
Finn's expression darkened.
Wanda could tell he wasn't happy about it, so she quickly added, "Fury said this is the last time. After this, I won't be an Avenger anymore."
Finn's grip on her waist loosened, though his expression remained unreadable.
"Hmph. You actually believe him?"
Wanda frowned.
"You don't?"
Finn leaned back, exhaling slowly. he wasn't that concerned about staying in hiding—two days wasn't going to change anything. But...
Nick Fury.
That bastard was using Wanda as a pawn again.
And he knew it.
Finn's lips curled into something sharp.
Maybe it was time to remind Fury not to push his luck.
"You'll like it, though," Wanda interrupted, sensing her hesitation. "Fury said the football culture in Germany is great. You love football, don't you?"
Finn arched a brow.
"I do. But I don't like German football as much as—"
Wanda cut him off.
"We're not going there for football."
A pause.
Then Finn sighed, running a hand through his hair
"Fine."
Wanda smiled in relief, kissing him on the cheek before moving to pack their things.

Quinjet, En Route to Germany
The hum of the Quinjet was steady, the cabin dimly lit.
Nick Fury stepped out from the cockpit, his single eye locking onto Finn with his usual unreadable expression.
"Finn."
Finn stretched his arms over his head lazily, lounging against the couch.
"We Meet Again"
Wanda choked on air.
Nick Fury's eye twitched.
"Boy, you should feel lucky. Not everyone gets to ride on this plane. The Quinjet is the most advanced fighter jet in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s arsenal."
Finn smirked.
"It's also been around for over a decade, hasn't it?"
Fury's expression flickered.
"How do you know that?"
"I saw the Avengers using it over ten years ago. It's 2024 now. That makes this thing an antique."
A long silence.
Then—
"Motherf—"
Fury cut himself off, jaw tightening.
Finn merely took a slow sip of wine, satisfied.
Wanda, watching from the side, let out a soft laugh, leaning in to whisper, "You're the first person to ever shut him up."
"No," Fury interrupted, "Tony Stark was the first. And unfortunately for you, Finn, you'll never be Tony Stark."
Before Finn could reply, the wall-mounted screen in the cabin flickered, broadcasting a breaking news report.
"According to our sources, a supernatural attack occurred in Prague tonight. The attacker was finally taken down by the Black Shadow Corps!"
[A/N : I've changed the name from shadow group to Shadow corps]
Finn's brows lifted slightly.
"The Shadow Corps. They're quite the celebrities these days, huh?"
Fury scowled at the screen.
"They're strong. And so far, we haven't been able to trace anything about them."
The screen displayed a masked figure standing atop a frozen wall, their power rippling through the air.
Fury's voice dropped lower. "If this was five years ago, I would've flipped every rock in the world to find them."
Finn took another sip of wine.
"And yet, they're right under your nose... and you still can't find a thing."
Fury exhaled sharply, shaking his head as he got up.
"I don't have time to explain spy work to a civilian. I'd be crazy to even try."

He disappeared back into the cockpit.
Wanda smiled, turning to Finn.
"Don't let him bother you, Finn. Your life is already something most people can only dream of."
Finn smirked.
"My life is perfect."
And then, before Wanda could react, she was pulled into another kiss.

Prague, Five-Star Hotel
In the surveillance blind spot of the luxurious hotel, a dark mist coiled in the air.
The mist shifted, taking shape. A woman emerged—her face eerily kind, but her eyes gleaming with something cold, something cruel.
Agatha Harkness narrowed her eyes.
"They left again."
Her fingers curled into fists.
"Finn, you've been running all over the world with my belongings. Don't think I won't catch you."
A final whisper of black smoke.
And then—she was gone.
Only a single black feather drifted to the ground.
