Chapter 51 - 51 : Search History

In the dark cave surrounded by vine-covered runes, the Book of the Damned was placed on a central platform, exuding bursts of dark energy, accompanied by the haunting screams of lost souls.

Its presence kept the cave unnaturally cold.

"Sure enough, it's the Book of the Damned. I wonder where the old witch got it from," Finn muttered as he walked toward the book.

As he approached, he could clearly feel the cold air blowing on his face, and the temperature around his body dropped sharply. This was due to the chilling aura emanating from the Book of the Damned.

Cracks appeared on the bottom of the high platform, worn down by years of bearing the heavy book.

"This thing is basically a mobile refrigeration unit. No wonder the witch lost weight in the original story," Finn remarked as he picked up the dark book and flipped through it. The coldness of the book sent an involuntary shiver through him.

Practicing with this book every day—could you blame her for losing weight when the cold seems to erode your body?

Finn figured he'd have to get a duplicate version of the Book of the Damned, so when studying for Wanda, he wouldn't be bothered by the freezing aura.

The original tale explained that when Chthon recorded the spells, he also recorded his own dark deeds.

These dark deeds, recorded by one of the ancient gods, are embedded in the writing itself and can affect anyone who reads them.

Even after using the black magic within, many souls were sacrificed to the ancient god Chthon.

In the original story, the witch learned both the spells and the evil parts, which drove her mad and transformed her into a ruthless, power-hungry figure.

Finn had to admit, there was something undeniably powerful about such a witch, especially in her darker form.

But, he preferred the version of Wanda who was sweet and caring now.

"No wonder she improved so quickly after learning from this book," Finn muttered.

He became engrossed as he continued reading, unable to resist the allure of the powerful spells contained within the book. As a magician, he couldn't help but marvel at the sheer power within these pages.

Moreover, many of the spells could affect the multiverse.

For example, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda uses Dreamwalking to possess bodies across the multiverse and control them for her own use.

"Haah..."

After ten minutes of intense reading, Finn had finished the entire book. Thanks to his exceptional memory, a gift from his magical abilities, he could recall everything from the book after reading it just once.

"It's a great book," Finn said to himself, but he knew there were some parts he would need to be careful with. Not all of the spells were something Wanda should learn.

He wasn't worried about her soul being sacrificed; the Chaos magic in her body was far too powerful for that. But some dark magic could affect her mind in dangerous ways.

With that thought, Finn decided to take action. He opened his hand, and golden light began to wrap around the book.

The next second, an identical Darkhold appeared in his left hand, and the reprinted version did not emit black aura. Instead, it looked like a well-preserved ancient tome.

"Perfect."

Finn flipped through a few pages and confirmed there was nothing dangerous in the content before putting it away with satisfaction.

"Finn? Where are you?"

At this time, a familiar voice called from outside the cave.

"Uh, I'm tidying up Agatha's room, wait for me."

Finn quickly hid the original Darkhold and ran out of the cave. He closed the cave door just as it opened.

Click!

"What are you doing?"

Wanda opened the door and poked her head in. She glanced around at the cold room, noticing that everything in the living room had been neatly arranged.

She widened her eyes in surprise. "My God, doesn't Agatha usually use these things?"

"Maybe she's a medieval witch with some outdated furniture," Finn teased, taking Wanda's soft white hand. "Not like you, though. You're a witch, but you act like a housewife—watching movies every night and only getting up at noon."

"I'm not a witch," Wanda sighed. "I don't even know magic." She gave him an exasperated look. "Why do you always call me a witch?"

Finn laughed. "Isn't that a fun little nickname for you?"

Wanda raised an eyebrow. "It's a weird one, that's for sure."

"Well, you've got all kinds of strange hobbies," Finn teased. "First legs and feet, then socks, and now you're really getting into magic, huh?"

Wanda glared at him. "I'm a super-powered person, not a witch."

Finn grinned and teased, "Maybe we should put a spell on you."

Wanda raised her hands in mock surrender. "Didn't you just take a shower? Why so fast?"

Finn leaned closer, smelling the faint fragrance of her, and couldn't resist pulling her closer. "You know, I could always take you to my room..."

"No more nonsense!" Wanda shoved him playfully. "Let's move my stuff into your room."

"You're in a hurry, witch," Finn said with a mischievous smile.

"You know, you are very, very lucky," Wanda teased, blushing. "But, don't go thinking you'll get away with it."

Finn chuckled as he grabbed her in a sudden princess carry. "Don't worry, witch, I'll get you to your room."

Wanda laughed nervously. "Put me down!"

"Not yet," Finn grinned, holding her tightly.

As he walked upstairs, Wanda clung to him, her face flushed as their proximity heightened the tension between them.

"Stop holding on so tight, are you trying to make me drop you?"

Wanda shot him a playful glare. "You're the one carrying me, I'm just holding on so I don't fall."

"You don't think I'm strong enough?" Finn raised an eyebrow.

Wanda's eyes widened, and she immediately realized the tension had shifted. "What are you doing?"

Finn's expression grew darker, his voice laced with teasing menace. "I'll prove my strength."

Before Wanda could react, he leaned down, claiming her lips in a kiss.

The kiss lasted longer than she expected, and when they finally broke apart, Wanda felt her heart racing. She was still trying to catch her breath.

"You're insufferable," she muttered, her lips swollen from the kiss. "And now you want to carry me like a trophy?"

Finn just grinned. "Well, if I'm going to prove my strength, I may as well enjoy it."

Wanda couldn't help but feel a mix of annoyance and excitement. "Just get me to the room, Finn."

"Don't worry," he said with a wink, striding into their suite.

Ten minutes later, Finn returned, pushing a cart full of her things.

"Don't call me a witch!" Wanda snapped, now even more flustered than before. "You're such a pervert, Finn! Do you have any hobbies that don't involve teasing me?"

Finn just shrugged, as though entirely innocent. "Witch is a pet name, you know? Don't get all worked up about it."

"Yeah, well, if I hear that name again..." Wanda trailed off, her tone dark.

"Alright, alright," Finn grinned. "But you've got to admit, it suits you."

Wanda was already walking to the bathroom, shaking her head. "You are impossible."

As Finn chuckled, he heard the sound of water running from the bathroom, and for a moment, he considered following her.

Wanda, meanwhile, turned to the laptop on the table, trying to distract herself from her thoughts. She opened the browser, glancing nervously at the door, unsure of what she might find.

---

What kind of person calls themselves a witch and has an unusual interest in feet?

---

Wanda sat back on the sofa, her eyes scanning the content on her laptop. Her expression shifted, slowly becoming more perplexed.

It felt as though she'd unlocked a door to a whole new world. Her face flushed, her earlobes turning bright red as she sat frozen, unaware of how quickly time had passed.

---

In the bathroom,

"Ahhh..."

Finn had already taken a shower, dried his hair, and stepped out, his damp hair cascading over his shoulders. He glanced up, and his gaze met Wanda, who had been lying on the couch with her legs propped up. Her skin looked pale, almost glowing, and her pink toes seemed even more delicate after the shower.

They looked like something from an artist's sculpture.

Finn couldn't help but stare.

---

Wanda noticed him and quickly turned her head, meeting Finn's gaze. It was clear that she was caught.

"Finn, what are you looking at?" she asked, sitting up cross-legged immediately.

"I'm looking at you."

Finn gave a mischievous grin, still admiring her legs.

---

"Pervert," Wanda muttered with a narrowed gaze. She stood up and moved the laptop to her side.

"Did you find something weird, Finn?" Wanda said in mock suspicion, her voice laced with concern.

Finn had caught a glimpse of the browser history and instantly guessed what she had been searching for. It was exactly what he had feared. She wasn't typically this... curious about such things.

"Don't come any closer."

Wanda hastily shoved the laptop into her lap as Finn approached, his steps slow but confident. The playful expression on his face only heightened her sense of panic.

---

"You've been up to something, haven't you?" Finn's voice carried a tease as he tried to close the distance.

"Don't!" Wanda stood up quickly, sliding off the sofa and onto the cool floor. She quickly rushed toward the bedroom, leaving Finn no chance to reach her.

"Is my little witch hiding something?" Finn called out, raising an eyebrow.

---

Wanda didn't stop, slamming the bedroom door behind her with a firm thud, her heart racing as she locked it. She could already hear Finn's voice echoing from the other side.

"Nope!" Wanda replied, panting as she sat down on the floor, glancing at her laptop.

The search history... it was all still fresh in her mind, and her face burned just thinking about it.

There was no turning back. If Finn ever found out what she had been looking at, he would never let her hear the end of it. He would probably taunt her with it.

---

Knock knock knock.

"Open the door, Wanda!" Finn's voice rang from outside, impatience clear in his tone.

"No, just give me a second to clear something!" Wanda shouted back, her voice quivering slightly as she glanced at the screen again.

She frantically began scrolling through the history, clicking the 'Clear History' button, trying to get rid of every trace of her actions.

---

Click!

The screen was wiped clean in an instant.

Wanda exhaled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She hadn't thought the delete button would be so satisfying. Now there was nothing left to prove what she'd been looking at. She couldn't stop the smile creeping up on her face.

There. All gone.

---

After a few moments, Wanda stood up, straightening herself. She opened the door, her face confident despite her previous panic.

"Here you go. It's all yours," she said with a smile, handing Finn the laptop.

---

Finn took the laptop from her with a knowing smile. "What exactly did you do with my computer?" he asked with mock innocence.

Before Wanda could protest, he grabbed her, lifting her easily and plopping her back down on the couch.

---

"Nothing," Wanda mumbled, turning her head away.

---

"Really?" Finn raised an eyebrow, staring at her intently. "I'll give you one more chance to tell me the truth."

---

Wanda's eyes flickered to the screen, but she quickly glanced away. "I told you, nothing happened."

---

Finn's eyes narrowed, clearly not buying her response. He gave a slight smile before saying, "Then I guess I'll have to check the history myself."

---

Wanda's stomach sank. "No!" she yelped, her panic rising as she tried to block his path.

---

Finn clicked away at the keyboard, logging into the cloud service linked to her account, knowing the records were automatically saved there. He had done this before, just in case of a situation like this.

---

"What's going on?" Wanda asked, her voice rising with anxiety.

---

Finn didn't answer, only pressed a button to restore the deleted history. The moment he did, the screen filled with rows of very personal, very private search terms. Wanda's face went ashen, her worst fears realized.

---

"Don't!" she screamed, trying to block the screen, but it was too late.

The air around them grew thick with tension. The reality of the situation hit her all at once.

"Well, well," Finn said, his voice low and amused. "Looks like I found your little secret."

---

Wanda froze, mortified. The idea that Finn was seeing all her search history felt like the worst possible betrayal.

She wished she could crawl into a hole and disappear. But there was no escape now.

The moment lingered, the room completely silent except for the hum of the laptop. The awkwardness in the air was palpable, with Wanda too embarrassed to speak and Finn enjoying her discomfort just a bit too much.

---

This scene, as awkward as it was, would stick with Wanda forever.

The atmosphere in the room was thick with the weight of her secrets laid bare. Neither of them said another word, but the silence spoke volumes.
