Chapter 276 - C268

Leon drove a McLaren sports car along the coastal road at night.

Dim streetlights flickered as they passed, and the rhythmic crashing of waves filled the air.

From time to time, the distant calls of seabirds broke the silence.

Occasionally, an oncoming car appeared, but the road remained mostly quiet and peaceful.

After driving for a long time, Leon's eyes flickered with thought. He turned the wheel toward a scenic overlook along the coastline, pulling into the parking area and stopping the car.

A few tents were set up in the corner of the observation deck, their occupants sleeping soundly. The gentle sound of breathing blended with the ocean's rhythm.

Leon stepped out of the car, pocketing the key as he walked down the steps leading from the observation deck. Below, a vast beach stretched out, empty and serene.

Though the night was dark, the moonlight filtering through the clouds illuminated the surroundings just enough. Once his eyes adjusted, Leon could make out the shimmering sea and the play of light and shadow on its surface.

On the beach, a white-haired, one-eyed old man stood silently. Dressed in finely tailored white robes, he gazed at the horizon, his back to Leon.

Leon smirked and approached, stopping beside the old man.

"This way?" Leon asked, his tone carrying a hint of confusion.

Odin, however, understood his meaning. Without turning, he replied in a voice that was weary but resolute:

"I am not afraid of death, but Asgard cannot lose me yet. Loki and Thor... they need time. Loki's intent this time is clear: to force me into action."

He paused, his gaze unwavering.

"To die with honor in Muspelheim—that is his goal."

Leon's expression didn't waver as he replied, "He knows you exist."

Odin nodded, continuing, "Whether it is you who intervenes or I who acts, his objective is achieved. Asgard cannot rely on your help forever."

His voice hardened. "And he knows my pride would never allow me to ask for your assistance a second time."

Odin's straightforwardness was uncharacteristic, but Leon understood the stakes. For Odin to meet him on Earth again meant that he was desperate. Asgard needed time—time that Odin could no longer provide himself.

Odin had to survive. At least for now. Thor still had much to learn, much to grow. Without Odin, Asgard would fall to the many enemies lying in wait.

Odin had built a legacy, one forged in conquest and domination. His victories had brought glory to Asgard but also left a trail of hatred in their wake. Enemies, some as powerful as Thanos, lurked in the shadows, waiting for the All-Father's downfall.

Odin sighed. "I will owe you this favor, Leon."

He turned to face Leon, his expression solemn. His voice carried a weight of power and authority:

"Our friendship shall be bound by the power of Odin. We will never betray a friend. We open our hearts to all."

As he spoke, an intangible force seemed to resonate, binding the words with an unshakable weight.

Leon felt it—a divine promise, unwavering and eternal.

This was the price Odin paid. Bound by this oath, Asgard would fulfill any request Leon made, no matter the cost. Even if Odin himself fell, the vow would remain, binding Asgard for as long as it existed.

Leon met Odin's gaze, responding solemnly: "We are bathed in flowers and glory. Our friendship will endure forever."

The oath was made.

Odin did not linger. With his purpose fulfilled, he returned to Asgard to continue his slumber. His time outside the realm was running out.

Leon, meanwhile, gazed at the vast, star-filled sky. Beyond the clouds, he envisioned the fiery chaos of Muspelheim. He knew that the responsibility to save Asgard now fell to him.

Muspelheim: The Battlefield

Boom!

A deafening roar echoed across the battlefield.

Wanda Maximoff floated in the sky, her hair crackling with energy as her crimson eyes glowed beneath sharp, furrowed brows. Her hands formed a triangle, and within moments, the world turned red.

A massive, glowing magic circle appeared amidst the storm clouds, its intricate patterns swirling with immense power.

Blizzards howled as torrents of ice spears rained from the sky, each one sharp enough to pierce steel. The target of this magical onslaught stood tall: Surtur, the fire demon, over 300 meters high.

Surtur roared in fury, swinging the colossal Twilight Sword to repel the storm. His strikes were devastating, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. Each sweep of his blade sent Asgardian warriors flying like ragdolls, their bodies colliding with rocks or plunging into rivers of molten lava.

Among them was Thor, bloodied but defiant. His powerful Asgardian physique allowed him to endure Surtur's attacks, but even he spat blood as he was knocked backward, skidding across the scorched ground. freeweɓnøvel.com

Despite their injuries, the Asgardians refused to fall. Thor and his warriors rose to their feet, their determination burning as fiercely as the flames around them.

Above, the ice spears struck with relentless force. Each was hundreds of meters long, raining down in a deadly cascade.

Meanwhile, Natasha Romanoff, Pietro Maximoff, and the others danced around Surtur, weaving through the chaos. They struck with precision, their attacks leaving glowing scars on the fire demon's molten body.

But Surtur was undeterred. Ignoring the slashes across his fiery form, he raised the Twilight Sword high. With both hands, he drove it into the earth.

Boom!

The ground cracked and splintered as lava surged into the sky, creating a fiery maelstrom. The battlefield trembled beneath the demon's power, but the heroes stood resolute, their will unbroken.

The war for Asgard had only begun.
