Blade steadied his stance, keeping his sword ready as the remaining Mermen circled him cautiously. Now that they had witnessed his strength, they hesitated, no longer attacking recklessly.
"They're learning," he thought, gripping his sword tighter. "But that won't save them."
One of the Mermen suddenly darted forward, aiming a trident at his chest. Blade shifted his body, letting the weapon glide past him. Using the momentum, he kicked off the rocky terrain, twisting his body to slash across the Merman's back.

Before he could recover, another Merman rushed in from the side. Instead of dodging completely, Blade let the attack get close, just enough to trick his opponent into committing fully. At the last second, he ducked under the strike and drove his sword into the Merman's stomach.

"Seventeen left," he muttered, his eyes scanning for the next attack.
The Mermen were adapting, but so was he. Instead of relying only on Earth Carving Sword Art, he started incorporating movements that flowed naturally with the water. He let the current guide him, weaving through attacks with increasing ease.
A group of three Mermen attacked together, trying to overwhelm him. Blade smirked.
He planted his foot against the rocky surface and activated Earth Carving Sword Art again. The terrain beneath them trembled slightly as cracks spread through the seabed. The moment they hesitated, he struck. His sword moved in a sharp, controlled arc, cleaving through two Mermen at once before turning on the last one.

The remaining Mermen grew frantic. They no longer fought in a coordinated manner, their attacks becoming more desperate. Blade took advantage of their panic, dodging smoothly and countering with brutal efficiency.

The numbers kept dropping.
[ 3 Mermen Remaining ]
The last three Mermen bared their fangs, their eyes burning with rage. One of them let out a deafening screech, signaling a final, all-out assault.
Blade took a deep breath and prepared himself. "Come then."
The first Merman lunged at him, trident aimed straight for his heart. Instead of dodging backward, Blade twisted to the side and deflected the weapon with a sharp parry. Before his opponent could react, he countered with a quick slash to the throat.

The second Merman tried to grab him from behind, but Blade sensed the movement. He kicked backward, forcing space between them, then spun around, delivering a precise strike straight through its chest.

The final Merman hesitated, glancing around at its fallen brethren. Fear flickered in its eyes.
Blade pointed his sword at the trembling creature. "You're the last one. Make your move."
With a desperate roar, the Merman rushed at him. Blade didn't move until the very last second—then, like flowing water, he sidestepped and drove his blade deep into its heart.

[ Quest Completed! ]
[ Reward: Water Carving Sword Art Unlocked! ]
Blade let out a slow exhale, relaxing his stance as the water around him stilled.
"Good, now the real battle begins," Old Granny said, pointing ahead. "The ones you killed were merely patrols. The thing you seek is in the heart of a kingdom— the Mermen Kingdom. They are monsters, strong and tough, so don't think you can talk your way in."
She paused before continuing, "However, there is another kingdom—the Water Naga Kingdom. They are peaceful creatures, the complete opposite of the Mermen. They live in harmony with other races and might become your allies against the Mermen Kingdom."
Blade listened carefully before responding. " Great so is this another trial of yours? "
Old Granny smiled, nodding. "Of course, my dear student. You have worked hard to achieve this strength. But if you don't continue to strive forward, you will stagnate and become nothing more than a shadow of your potential."
Blade shook his head as he said " what ever"
Blade emerged from the water, settling near a rock as he pulled out a wooden log and his sculpting knife.
"Glad you didn't forget your daily task," Old Granny remarked as she watched him. She had given him a daily quest to carve anything—since this was his training. Every day, he had to sculpt a small figure of something, and so far, he had mostly carved rabbits and other small creatures.
After some time, his work was complete.
[ A Severely Hideous Bunny Sculpture ]
Blade shook his head, sighing in disappointment as he examined his crude carving.
"Don't worry, you're getting better. This one is 20% better than your last attempt," Old Granny said encouragingly.
Blade nodded, putting the sculpture aside. "Well, let's see what this new skill of mine can do."
With that, he checked the Water Carving Sword Art, eager to see its info.
