Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 150: This Is Life
Chapter 150 - This Is Life
After gaining control over the mutants and the city of Baghdad, she continued appearing near the leaders of major Middle Eastern nations, using the same method to take control of them.
That was how the Middle Eastern Alliance, as we know it, came to be.
"Based on our intelligence, Cassandra Nova's known abilities include mind control, telekinesis, and teleportation," Natasha explained. "However, there's a high chance she possesses other abilities she hasn't revealed yet—possibly even more powerful ones."
Silence filled the room as the briefing ended.
Despite Natasha providing a wealth of information, the key details they wanted—her exact location, her full range of powers, and the extent of her forces—remained unknown.
After a moment, Coulson raised his hand. "I want to know where Nova is. Where do we go to deal with her?"
Natasha glanced at Maria Hill, who let out a sigh before answering, "No one knows. She's been extremely elusive, likely to avoid an assassination attempt or a missile strike. This is our biggest problem right now."
Agent May suggested, "Maybe we should request help from the UN Security Council?"
"If they had any leads, they would've told me already."
"What about the CIA? They're supposed to be the world's top intelligence agency."
"I've already checked with them. They have nothing."
The room fell silent again.
Then, from the corner of the room, Daisy spoke up. "What about Umbrella Corporation? They have the Sky Eye surveillance system. If anyone knows, they do."
Maria considered this for a moment before nodding. "Natasha, contact Umbrella and see what they have."
Unlike Nick Fury, Maria didn't have a deep-seated distrust of Umbrella. In fact, the corporation had provided S.H.I.E.L.D. with significant support, making her view them in a more favorable light.
Natasha gave a nod and left for the command center. Meanwhile, the rest of the team continued their discussions, though without knowing Nova's location, her full capabilities, or the strength of her forces, their planning was largely hypothetical.
A short while later, Natasha returned. Seeing the cold expression on her face, Maria immediately asked, "Did Umbrella have anything?"
Without hesitation, Natasha nodded. "They confirmed Nova is still in Baghdad. They also provided some unexpected intel."
"Oh? What kind of intel?"
"Nova isn't alone. Aside from Lorna and Erik, she has several powerful mutants at her side: Juggernaut, Colossus, Logan, Victor, and some members of the Hellfire Club.
"And one more thing—Nova has two additional abilities: matter disintegration and matter reconstruction. We need to be extremely cautious."
The room fell silent as everyone processed this revelation.
"So Lorna and Erik were under her control all along..."
"I always thought Umbrella was just another corporation, but it seems we were wrong."
"Yeah, turns out they're the kind of capitalists with a conscience."
"Looks like Nick was wrong about them after all."
With this new information, the team returned to strategizing. After much discussion, they finally drafted a rough plan.

Meanwhile, in Baghdad~
Cassandra lounged in the grandest hotel in the city, holding a glass of wine in one hand and a drumstick in the other. She took a large bite, completely unconcerned with manners.
"What the hell was wrong with me in my last life? Why did I ever want to destroy the world?" she muttered.
She swirled her wine glass, taking in its strange yet pleasant aroma.
"In my previous world, I ruled everything. The Avengers were dead, and no one could challenge me. And yet, the best meal I ever had was a stale cake and some rat meat. What a joke."
She took another bite of the chicken, chewing thoughtfully.
"A world like that? Anyone who wants it can have it. The resources in that hellhole weren't even as good as the poorest country here."
Looking around, she smirked.
"Keep playing! Keep dancing!" she ordered, raising her glass high. "Now this is life!"
The grand hall was filled with musicians, dancers, and entertainers, all performing for her pleasure.
Some of the guests in the room were representatives from the Middle Eastern Alliance, while others were singers and performers summoned to entertain Cassandra.
Music filled the air once more as musicians played, singers performed, and dancers moved in perfect rhythm.
Outside the main hall, the political representatives exchanged uneasy glances.
"What do we do?" one of them asked.
"The U.S. and its allies are increasing their military presence nearby. And our blockade around the American military bases—should we engage?"
With no direct orders from Cassandra, none of them dared to act on their own.
Just then, the doors to the hall swung open.
A man stepped forward, his face lighting up upon seeing them.
"There you are! The Queen is looking for you."
Hearing this, the representatives quickly straightened up and rushed inside. They assumed Cassandra had finally decided to discuss military strategy.
However, as they entered, they found her swaying slightly, her cheeks flushed from alcohol.
She walked up to them with a lazy smile.

"I told you to bring that singer—what's her name? The one with the amazing voice. Where is she?"
The representatives nearly groaned in frustration.
One of them, a burly man with a thick beard, stepped forward. "Your Majesty, Kaos fled to the West the moment she heard you were looking for her. We've already sent people after her. She should be captured soon."
Cassandra frowned.
"She ran? How ungrateful." She snapped her fingers. "Azazel!"
A cloud of crimson smoke erupted before her, and a tall, red-skinned man with pointed ears and a spaded tail emerged. The scent of sulfur filled the room.
The man, known as Azazel, bowed slightly. "You called, my Queen?"
Unlike many of Cassandra's subordinates, Azazel wasn't under mind control—he followed her willingly.
Cassandra waved a hand in front of her nose. "Next time, don't show up smelling like a damn volcano, or I'll throw you out."
Azazel merely smirked.
Cassandra stretched, then pointed at the bearded representative. "Go bring me that singer. I don't care how far she's run—get it done."
