Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 156: The Rampaging Tyrant
Chapter 156 - The Rampaging Tyrant
In the city of Baghdad~
With Cassandra's sudden disappearance, everyone under her control instantly regained their senses.
Natasha and Daisy looked around in confusion.
"What... just happened?"
It didn't take long for the memories to come rushing back, and their gazes quickly shifted to Lorna and Erik.
Lorna and Erik had also recovered, but Erik, now a zombie thanks to Lorna's handiwork, had reverted to his primal instincts.
Without Cassandra's control, his true nature emerged.
Not only did he unleash a barrage of metallic projectiles in a wild, indiscriminate attack, but he also began grabbing nearby corpses and devouring them.
The Tyrant, not far away, noticed someone stealing its "food" and immediately locked eyes on Erik.
*ROAR!*
A guttural snarl echoed through the air.
The two monsters clashed.
A massive chunk of metal soared through the air toward the Tyrant, but it deftly leapt to the side, dodging the attack.
With Cassandra's control lifted, the Tyrant's innate combat instincts erupted in full force. It weaved and darted, dodging attack after attack, steadily closing the distance to Erik.
*ROAR!*
The Tyrant let out a thunderous roar, the sound wave so powerful that even Erik, a zombie, wobbled dizzily.
Seizing the opening, the Tyrant leapt high into the air, aiming a deadly punch straight at Erik. If that blow connected, Erik would be reduced to a smear on the ground.
But before the punch landed, a chunk of metal hurtled in from the side, blocking the attack.
It was Lorna—she had stepped in.
*BANG!*
The Tyrant's fist smashed the metal into pieces before it crashed to the ground, its fierce gaze now fixed on Lorna.
Under the weight of the Tyrant's terrifying stare, Lorna instinctively took a step back.
"Natasha, Daisy—help me!"

Daisy exchanged a glance with Natasha, who gave a firm nod.
In the next second, Daisy unleashed a powerful shockwave.
The Tyrant clenched its fist and struck back.
*BOOM!*
The ground cracked open, forming a spiderweb of fractures spanning 30 to 40 meters in diameter. But the Tyrant only bent its knees slightly before straightening up again—then it charged forward once more.
Seeing this, Daisy swiftly manipulated a massive metal object, weighing several thousand tons, and hurled it at the beast.
*BOOM!*
Another thunderous blast.
The colossal, 50-meter-wide hunk of metal was shattered into fragments by a single punch from the Tyrant.
However, the impact did push the Tyrant back a few steps.
The shockwave rippled outward, sending a fierce gust of wind that swept through the area, clearing dust and debris.
As the gusts surged toward them, Daisy responded with another punch, channeling her shockwave ability to dissipate the incoming air blast.
Even so, the lingering force still left everyone struggling to keep their balance.
Natasha, witnessing this chaotic scene, awkwardly lowered the electromagnetic rifle she had just raised.
Yeah... this level of combat was way out of her league. It was probably best to step back and let the superhumans handle it.
Meanwhile, Sam—who was still tangled up in his brutal fight with Logan and Victor—was caught off guard by the shockwave and flung to the side, landing hard and unable to stand for a moment.
His body was far frailer than Natasha's, and without anyone protecting him from the blast, he sustained serious injuries.
Logan, ever the unkillable menace thanks to his healing factor, finally staggered to Sam's side. Grabbing Sam by the leg, he dragged him along as he advanced toward Victor once more.

Meanwhile~
High above the battlefield.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier was speeding away from the area.
But as Maria noticed that the nuke still hadn't detonated, a deep sense of unease crept over her.
"What's going on? Why hasn't the nuke exploded?"
Her subordinates quickly huddled over their computer screens, typing furiously.
Moments later, a visibly shaken agent rushed over, "Director... bad news. We've lost all contact with the nuke. It's like... it just vanished."
"What? That's impossible! This is a nuclear weapon!"
"We don't know what happened. Should we send a team to investigate?"
Before Maria could respond, a holographic projection appeared in midair.
It was a middle-aged white man with a receding hairline. He wasn't in a suit like most government officials—instead, he wore a military uniform.
"Abort the nuke launch. Cassandra has been captured."
The sudden appearance of the projection left Maria stunned.
"General Silviera? What's going on? Why weren't we informed?"
General Silviera was a military advisor to the Security Council, a powerful figure who rarely involved himself directly in S.H.I.E.L.D. operations.
Usually, the agency only dealt with lower-ranking officials. His unexpected presence immediately set off alarm bells in Maria's mind.
Silviera ignored her questions, his voice calm and cold.
"We've already taken action. Your mission is over. Return and await the Security Council's verdict."
With that, the projection blinked out.
Maria stood there, her face pale and hollow.
So this was it. It seemed S.H.I.E.L.D. had finally reached this breaking point.
Sensing the tension in the air, one of her subordinates hesitantly asked, "Director... should we still send a team to retrieve the nuke?"
"...Yes. Find it. Bring it back."
Her voice was barely above a whisper, as if the weight of the situation had crushed her spirit.
Without another word, Maria lowered her head and walked out of the control room.

Meanwhile, in an underground facility in New York, owned by Umbrella Corporation~
Adam watched calmly as Charles and Cassandra worked together against him.
He didn't flinch.
In fact, he even spared a moment to check on the events unfolding in Baghdad.
Seeing the Tyrant unleashed—free from any external control—and watching it grow even stronger as its raw combat instincts took over, Adam's eyes flickered with understanding.
"So, my previous approach was flawed.
Relying solely on control produces nothing but obedient machines.
And machines... will always be limited by their programming. No wonder my research into enhancing the Tyrant kept hitting a wall—it was the control itself that stunted its growth."
Just then, Cassandra launched a telekinetic strike, reaching out with her mind to grasp Adam's brain directly.
Alongside her talent for mental manipulation, Cassandra also excelled at telekinesis—using her abilities to physically seize her enemies' minds.
But Adam simply waved a hand.
Cassandra's body froze mid-air, locked in place.
"Next time you fight someone, don't lift off the ground so easily. Without a point of leverage, you're helpless."
With a flick of his wrist, a ceiling panel slid open, and an X-gene suppressant collar descended, clicking tightly around Cassandra's neck.
Turning away from her, Adam shifted his gaze to Charles, who was still hammering at his mind with intensifying psychic force.
"You still want to keep trying?"
Charles didn't respond with words—only with the relentless pressure of his mental assault.
Another collar dropped from the ceiling, locking around Charles' neck.
"I gave you a chance. You chose not to take it."
"Red Queen," Adam said softly, "freeze them both."
