Chapter 163 - Mission Update

William placed his hand on Mjolnir's handle and immediately tried to lift it. However, it felt as if he were trying to pull the entire planet, completely immovable.

Standing nearby, Psylocke watched with a look of disdain, "Captain, are you sure you can do it?"

"Who says I can't? Of course, I can!"

William took a step back, raised his electromagnetic rifle, and fired at Mjolnir.

*Clang! Clang! Clang!*

The bullets bounced off harmlessly, leaving not even a scratch. Frustrated, he tossed the rifle aside and stripped off his armor.

"Ahhh!"

With a loud roar, his muscles swelled, his body transforming into a three-meter-tall Tyrant form.

Once again, he gripped the handle of Mjolnir with both hands.

Still, it did not budge.

This made him start doubting himself. The last time he tested his strength, his Tyrant form had over 300 tons of lifting power, yet now he couldn't even lift a hammer?

Unwilling to accept defeat, he activated his second form. His body bulked up even more, every muscle swelling into a near-perfect shape.

"Rise!"

Yet the result remained unchanged.

Watching from the side, Frank smirked and said sarcastically, "Tch, looks like our dear Captain really can't do it..."

He put extra emphasis on the last word, making William's temper flare.

"What do you mean I can't?! You only outrank me because you've been with the boss longer! You couldn't even take me down with one finger!"

"Oh? You wanna test that theory?"

"I've been waiting for this! Right here, right now! You weakling, I could beat you to death with my—"

Just as William was about to start another round of trash talk, Psylocke suddenly tugged at his sleeve.

Annoyed, he snapped, "Don't stop me! Nobody's gonna stop me from beating him tod—"

"Who do you want to beat?"

The moment he heard that voice, William shivered like a mouse spotting a cat. His entire body trembled as he turned around slowly.

"B—B—Boss... W-Why are you here...?"

Adam ignored him and casually walked up to Mjolnir, dressed in a simple casual outfit. After a brief moment of observation, he reached out and gripped the hammer's handle.

The sky instantly darkened.

Strong winds howled, signaling an impending storm.

*RUMBLE!*

Lightning streaked across the sky as if issuing a warning—or perhaps, a reminder.

Adam glanced up at the storm clouds, a faint smirk appearing on his lips.

"How petty."

The moment he let go, the storm vanished without a trace, as if nothing had happened. Without another word, he turned and walked away.

Only after Adam boarded a helicopter and disappeared into the sky did William finally exhale in relief.

Beside him, Psylocke's eyes sparkled with admiration, filled with stars, "The boss is amazing... Like a god descended from the heavens..."

William scowled, feeling a little irritated but not daring to voice his frustration. Instead, he turned his attention back to Frank, "Coward! Where are you going? Come back and fight me!"

Without looking back, Frank replied, "The boss just issued a new mission. Get ready."

Hearing this, William finally noticed that his helmet—left on the ground—was glowing. Canceling his Tyrant form, he put his armor back on and checked his helmet screen.

"Protect Mjolnir?"

"So, this thing is called Mjolnir? Well, it does look the part... But why guard it? Are they planning some kind of research?"

No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't figure it out, so he chose to let it go.

.......

In the Town of Puente Antiguo~

After confirming he was fine, Thor returned early in the morning with Jane and Darcy to their rented house, which doubled as their research lab.

Due to their limited budget, they had some equipment, but nothing truly high-end.

Standing in front of a mirror, Thor examined the jeans he had put on.

Back in Asgard, he had never worn such stiff clothing—especially something that provided no defensive benefits.

No Asgardian would ever wear something like this.

He swore the jeans had a built in Agility -1 debuff. That said, he had to admit... they did look good.

Meanwhile, Jane Foster—blonde, in her twenties, with a stunning figure and beautiful features—pretended to read a book while sneaking glances at his eight-pack abs.

On the other hand, Darcy Lewis, a brunette with wavy hair and glasses, openly stared at Thor with glowing eyes.

"For a homeless crazy guy, his body is way too perfect," she muttered dreamily.

Hearing this, Jane rolled her eyes at her best friend.

After changing his pants, Thor picked up a shirt and examined it with curiosity.

"Is this really clothing?"

Unlike the jeans, it wasn't stiff, but it still offered no protection. Carrying the shirt, he stepped outside.

Seeing this, Darcy quickly apologized, "Sorry about electrocuting you last night."

Thor stiffened.

The mighty God of Thunder—knocked out by the first mortal woman who zapped him.

If word got out, he would never hear the end of it. His friends would write it down in their personal records just to mock him forever.

Quickly changing the topic, he grabbed a nearby mouse and asked, "What is this?"

Jane rushed over in alarm.

"Don't touch that! Put it down!"

As she snatched it back, she took the chance to steal a few more glances at his muscular body, swallowing hard.

To cover up her embarrassment, she buried her face in her book, pretending she hadn't just been ogling him. Darcy, unimpressed, rolled her eyes again.

Thor, now holding his shirt again, pointed at its white label.

"What is this?"

Jane quickly ripped the tag off.

"It belonged to my ex. He was good with patients but bad at relationships. Your build is the only one that fits his clothes."

Darcy nearly gagged.

"Damn, Jane, that was smooth."

In just two sentences, she managed to:

1. Declare her single status.

2. Show that her ex was a doctor—aka middle-class at least.

3. Blame the breakup entirely on him.

4. Prove she was sentimental by keeping his clothes.

5. Strongly hint that Thor was special enough for her to share them.

"Wow. She's even better than me at this."
