Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 173: The Arrival of the Destroyer
Chapter 173 - The Arrival of the Destroyer
Although the Sky-Eye satellite's projection was initially blurry due to the Bifrost's interference, the picture soon cleared as more satellites joined the scan.
Moments later, a mysterious rune appeared on the ground.
"William, take a team to investigate the site," Luna ordered.
"Yes, ma'am."
William immediately gathered his team and left the facility.
...........
Half an Hour Later~
In Puente Antiguo, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and Sif looked around curiously at their surroundings. The buildings and streets were strange — unlike anything they had ever seen before.
Similarly, the people in town were just as curious about them. After all, no one in modern society wore armor and carried medieval weapons in public.
However, most people just assumed they were cosplaying. Some even pulled out their phones to take pictures.
A moment later, Fandral's eyes lit up with excitement.
"I can sense Thor's presence."
"It's close — that way!"
"Let's go!"
.........
Meanwhile~
Thor was happily preparing breakfast for Jane and the others, a warm smile on his face.
Since getting together with Jane three days ago, Thor had taken it upon himself to handle their meals.
If they were going to live together long-term, he knew he couldn't just sit around doing nothing. That would eventually lead to resentment, no matter how much they loved each other.
Eric, holding a cup of coffee, said calmly, "It's an interesting theory, Jane — but you won't convince the scientific community without evidence."
After three days of discussion, Jane had managed to combine Thor's teachings about the World Tree and the universe into a cohesive theory.
But without evidence, even Eric remained unconvinced.
Jane lowered her head, silent. She knew Eric was right. Without proof, the theory couldn't hold up.
*Knock, knock, knock...*
At that moment, a knock at the door interrupted the conversation.
When Jane turned to look, she saw four oddly dressed individuals standing outside the glass door.
"Thor! We found you!"
Thor, who was preparing breakfast, froze for a moment. Then his face broke into a wide smile as he rushed toward them.
"Oh, my friends! You've come!"
Thor embraced them warmly, excitement radiating from all of them. But after the initial joy, Thor's expression darkened with sadness.
"I'm happy to see you," he said quietly, "but you shouldn't have come."
The four of them exchanged confused looks.
"Why not?" Fandral asked. "We've come to bring you home."
Thor's face twisted with guilt.
"You know I can't go back," he said bitterly. "My father... he died because of me. I have to remain in exile to maintain peace with Jotunheim."
The four stared at him in disbelief, unsure how to respond.
It was Sif who finally spoke, "Thor... your father is alive."
Thor froze completely, his eyes widening.
..........
Meanwhile, in Asgard~
Heimdall stood at the entrance of the Bifrost, his hands gripping his sword tightly as Loki approached with the Destroyer at his side.
"How did you let the Frost Giants into Asgard?" Heimdall's tone was sharp.

By now, he was certain Loki had brought the Frost Giants into the palace. What he couldn't figure out was how Loki had done it.
Loki stood before Heimdall, holding Gungnir, the Eternal Spear.
"You think the Bifrost is the only way in and out of Asgard?" Loki smiled coldly. "There are hidden pathways between worlds — ones even your eyes can't see."
"But now," Loki's expression darkened, "I no longer need those paths — because I am the King of Asgard."
"I hereby strip you of your position, Heimdall," Loki declared. "You have betrayed Asgard. You are no longer the gatekeeper of the Bifrost — or a citizen of Asgard."
Heimdall's golden eyes narrowed dangerously.
"Then I no longer have to follow your orders," Heimdall replied, raising his sword.
Without hesitation, he swung it toward Loki.
But Loki was faster.
With a gesture, the Casket of Ancient Winters materialized in his hand. An overwhelming wave of frost exploded outward.
Heimdall's strength was undeniable — but even he couldn't withstand the raw power of the Frost Giants' relic. Within moments, ice engulfed his body, freezing him solid into a statue of ice.
The frost's power also caused Loki's appearance to shift, his skin turning blue and his eyes glowing red — the mark of a Frost Giant.
But as soon as the attack ended, Loki immediately restored his Asgardian appearance. He despised the look of the Frost Giants.
With Heimdall out of the way, Loki led the Destroyer into the Bifrost.
He had two objectives.
First, to send the Destroyer to Earth and kill his brother. Second, to summon Laufey and the Frost Giants to Asgard.
If Laufey killed Odin, Loki's title as acting king would become permanent — and he could finally ascend as the rightful King of Asgard.
Only by destroying Jotunheim and eradicating the Frost Giants could he erase any trace of his true heritage.
As for his mother... he wouldn't kill her, of course. She was the only one who had ever truly loved him.
But placing her under house arrest was inevitable.
A sinister smile crept across Loki's face as he gazed at the Bifrost's shimmering light.
...........
Meanwhile, on Earth — New Mexico~
William and his team arrived at the mysterious site.
Jumping out of the vehicle, William stared at the massive circle on the ground, etched with glowing runes.
He had never seen anything like it.
"Call in a linguist," William ordered.
A nearby agent nodded and started to walk away.
But at that moment, the sky darkened. Thunder rolled overhead, and storm clouds spiraled into a vortex.
Everyone instinctively looked up at the sky, confused and tense.
"What's going on?" William muttered.
Thunder crackled through the air. A swirling storm began descending from the clouds toward the ground.
William signaled his team to fall back — but he remained standing.
.........
In Puente Antiguo, Thor and his companions also noticed the disturbance in the sky.
Their expressions darkened immediately.
They knew exactly what this meant.
"Someone's coming," Thor said grimly.
Darcy, looking confused, asked, "Are you expecting someone else?"
Thor's gaze hardened.
Sif and the others shook their heads. "No."
In the distance, townspeople were gathering, pointing at the dark clouds. Some took pictures, others knelt and began to pray.
But Thor knew better.
This was no natural storm.
It was a warning. Something dangerous was coming.
