Marvel's master of cosmic magic-Chapter 802
"Who are you?"
Colin Iliad drew a massive silver greatsword in a single smooth motion, his body instantly settling into a battle stance.
Yet he did not strike.
No spiritual warning.
No instinctive sense of hostility.
Only uncertainty.
"I’m Derrick’s friend," the young man said calmly. "Sent by the Fool to help you leave the Forsaken Land."
He gestured behind him.
A doorway of light hovered in the air.
"I know you don’t fully believe Derrick yet," Rowan Mercer continued, "but evidence speaks louder than words."
Colin turned.
Through the open gateway, he saw blue sky.
Sunlight.
An endless ocean stretching to the horizon.
Air filled with vitality instead of decay.
For a moment, his mind refused to accept it.
Illusions were common in battle.
Veteran fighters learned to distrust anything too perfect.
But every sense told him the same thing.
This was real.
Moisture gathered in Colin’s eyes.
He lowered his sword.
The Elders’ Tower was layered with powerful sealing artifacts. No one could impose an undetected illusion here.
If this were false, then the being before him already possessed the power to erase Silver City outright.
Resistance would be meaningless.
"What do we do?" Colin asked hoarsely.
"Gather everyone and prepare to move," Rowan said. "Quickly. The True Creator will notice what’s happening."
Rowan glanced upward, smiling faintly.
"He already has."
Flames swallowed his body.
He vanished.
The lightning that constantly tore through Silver City’s sky abruptly ceased.
In its place spread a vast ocean of black, viscous darkness. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
It carried corruption.
Madness.
Mutation.
Within it loomed the shadow of a colossal figure nailed to an invisible cross.
The True Creator.
Citizens who looked up felt their minds tremble on the edge of collapse and instinctively lowered their heads.
A massive crown burst out from the top of the Elders’ Tower.
Radiant holy light unfolded into a dome, shielding the entire city.
Under its protection, the citizens regained clarity.
"Silver City is under attack!" Colin roared.
"All residents, gather beneath the Elders’ Tower immediately!"
No panic.
No disorder.
Millennia of surviving monster sieges had forged discipline into instinct.
People grabbed only what mattered most and moved.
Colin used the familiar excuse of a major monster assault.
Explaining the truth would take too long.
Above all—
He did not know whether the one who opened the door could truly stop a god.
All he could do was evacuate as many as possible before the battle was decided.
The other five elders arrived moments later.
They saw the sky.
They saw the gate.
They saw Colin’s expression.
"Follow me," Colin said. "This door is Silver City’s salvation. We defend it at all costs."
No further questions were asked.
They took positions.
Only Lovia, the Shepherd, stood frozen.
She felt it.
The presence in the sky was the same being who had answered her prayers when she advanced.
The one who had called itself the Creator.
If that god wished to save Silver City...
Why was it trying to stop them?
Doubt crept into her heart.
High above the city, Rowan faced the shadowed giant.
"Leave," Rowan said evenly.
The True Creator laughed.
"You’re the insect who once stole fragments of my knowledge."
A single word followed.
"Corrupt."
Darkness surged toward Rowan.
Power capable of reducing most high-level Beyonders into twisted abominations.
Rowan’s will swept outward.
The corruption disintegrated before touching him.
He raised his hand.
"Clow Reed."
A figure stepped out of fractured history.
Calm eyes.
Gentle smile.
A presence heavy with ancient genius.
Rowan pointed at the colossal shadow.
"Handle it."
