Chapter 484: Chapter 484 Mech Battle

Fervor and tenderness coexisted, and the bgm that was both delicate and grand resonated throughout the long-silent Heavenly Palace Space Station. The silvery mechanical body carved out a blue-gray stream of light, darting out of the spaceport in a hard-to-understand maneuvering pattern.

"Warning, warning, you have violated the Heavenly Edict. Please lay down your weapons and cease resistance immediately. This is your last warning, please..."

The incessant mechanical noise was directly transmitted into the cockpit through a full-frequency broadcast. Feng Xue gazed at the hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers surrounding her, yet she had no intention of showing any fear. With a mere thought, the grey-blue Light Wings unfurled behind her mecha. She charged into the midst of the "Heavenly Soldiers," and with a grasp of her right hand, a pitch-black long sword, formed of some kind of field, was in her grasp. Unleashing the Life-taking Fifteen Sword technique, her mecha turned into a Poison Dragon, burrowing straight into the mechanized wall composed of gold and white.

There was almost no sense of blockage; the mechas standing before her sword melted away like ice cream sliced by a hot knife, and as the first Heavenly Soldier mecha fell, the previously noisy warnings ceased in an instant, replaced by a piercing alarm.

Feng Xue, empowered by the force of the bgm, frowned slightly and immediately turned up the volume of the public broadcast in the Gravity Wave Cabin. The speed of her mecha increased once more, and the unique mecha combat maneuver of a lone charge was now unfolding before their eyes.

The World’s frame became akin to a Sharp Divine Weapon, wantonly Cutting through the canopy formed by the Heavenly Soldier mechas, with the sequence of explosions blooming behind her like fireworks in full display. This feeling of close-range destruction of enemy crafts gave her a sense of achievement fifty times more than that of a frenzied bombardment of colorful cannon fire!

"Damn, that feels good!" Feng Xue violently dismantled the mechas in front of her, yet she deliberately limited the battle to the vicinity of the port. After all, in her eyes, this space station—dreamlike and illusory—belonged to her. Why would she destroy it?

"Buzz!"

"Warning!"

Almost simultaneously, the premonition in her heart and the alert from her mecha both exploded into action. The World paused abruptly and then, resisting the attack from the Heavenly Soldier mechas, she shifted a distance of over two hundred meters out of thin air.

This abrupt displacement sent the World crashing into the midst of a group of Heavenly Soldiers. The displays in the cockpit immediately showed numerous spots where the reflective beam coating on the armor had been scraped off. But this was all worth it because virtually the moment the World pulled back, a rainbow light that penetrated heaven and earth swept past, vaporizing even more Heavenly Soldier mechas than Feng Xue had cut down on her way—twice as many, in fact!

"Damn, indiscriminate battleship mode is on! As always, the Gundam series is bullsh*t; on the battlefield, battleship guns are always stronger than mecha-mounted guns!"

Feng Xue grinned, diving down with her sword’s light surging, and in the cockpit, an Orca Pillow appeared in her hands.

"Whew... a long overdue full-power battle!"

The power of the tide swirled around Feng Xue, and the status of the World began to change as well. The originally silver mecha was now coated in black and white. A "whale song" that fitted perfectly with the bgm mixed in, blending with the phantom that emerged behind Feng Xue. It was like an orca leaping out of the sea, creating a gap through the seemingly endless mass of Heavenly Soldiers and Generals.

The World charged straight into the explosion. At the same time, the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals she left behind nearly simultaneously launched a full volley.

A mix of solid and Energy Weapons formed a barrage behind the World that would have sent any number of animators from the Tomino’s Circus to the hospital with its complexity. But Feng Xue had no intention of performing a chasing maneuver. Instead, she went full throttle, heading straight for the position from where the previous light cannon had fired.

Regardless, the ship cannons had to be dealt with first!

But it seemed that the ship cannon too had inherited the Hard to Understand technology tree of this World. In just a few seconds, the cannon capable of destroying a small nation had recharged once again. The flashing light of red with a hint of gold grew larger and larger before Feng Xue’s eyes. However, she wasn’t without a contingency plan for such a situation!

"Cutting Wave, save me!"

A brown chestnut ball leaped out of Feng Xue’s chest, moving with a weird speed. It pierced through the cockpit of the World, constantly reproducing and dividing, forming a chestnut wall that seemed rather flimsy, yet it stood in front of Feng Xue.

What would normally annihilate one-fifth of the Heavenly Soldier Mecha in one hit, the ship’s main cannon effortlessly pierced the chestnut wall. However, miraculously, after passing through the wall built from the chestnut balls, the once indestructible ship’s cannon seemed to gently caress like a breeze, passing over the body of the World without causing any harm.

"Worthy of the Cutting Wave!" Feng Xue didn’t waste the sacrifice of Cutting Wave. With weak nuclear force propulsion wings at full throttle, he plunged down, treating the ship’s cannon as if it were a high-speed passageway. The Heavenly Soldier chassis behind him might have realized the problem, but programming deeply ingrained in their system made it impossible for them to continue the chase.

Shaking off the pursuit of fifty thousand Heavenly Soldiers, Feng Xue now appeared beside the muzzle of the ship cannon. But Feng Xue’s target was no longer to destroy the cannon because he saw something resembling a control console.

"Electronic warfare system, activate!"

"Entered invasion mode, met with resistance, estimated time required 30 minutes."

The World’s response caused a slight twitch at the corner of Feng Xue’s mouth. Although the World was designed to be the strongest chassis in the world, the onboard electronic warfare system, no matter how powerful, seemed a bit too optimistic in attempting to crack the main ship’s firewall.

He sighed, stepped forward, and approached the main cannon. Then—

[Plunder]!

[Make the most of everything]!

[Master of Props]!

With the triple prowess of ntr, the main cannon immediately changed owners. Even though the main cannon’s energy was cut off after detaching from the Heavenly Palace System, the radiant power of making the most of everything transformed it into a phantom entity that could kill without needing energy!

"Fire the cannon!"

The exhausted beam wreaked havoc across the sky, the blinding rainbow light touched the atmosphere, instantly leading to much reflection and vigilance among many people.

In an instant, prophecies of a malevolent star’s birth, an ill omen descending from the heavens, and the fall of nations... among various other rumors spread across the land. But Feng Xue, oblivious to all of this, was still enjoying the game of battling mechs.

One hundred thousand, no, fifty thousand Heavenly Soldiers dwindled under the bombardment of the [Purple Cloud Divine Thunder] in just three minutes. Feng Xue casually dispatched the remaining chassis one by one with the World’s "little water gun." Although the continuous alarms of the Heavenly Palace Space Station were still clamoring, no more guards appeared to challenge him.

"It looks like the Heavenly Court really is empty, huh? Are those one hundred thousand Autonomous Mecha their last line of defense?"

Feng Xue mumbled to himself but had no intention of emerging from his chamber, simply waiting quietly for the World to breach the firewall of the Heavenly Palace Space Station.

Finally, eight days after Feng Xue’s ascent (in mortal time), the Heavenly Palace Space Station welcomed its new Manager.
