"BACK OFF!" Susie exclaimed in horror as she watched Jin destroy the bot. She watched several parts suddenly began to move the instant the bot was nonfunctional.

Jin too had an expression of panic. "Thunder Sweep!" He brought himself into the air, as well as making water to cushion the impact.

BOOM!

The bot had self-destructed automatically upon death.

"UGH!" Lumi couldn’t help but be frustrated. He knew so many things, but not this!? He couldn’t even warn Jin!

"Light Shift!" Lumi immediately appeared beside the injured Jin. He threw Jin behind a concrete wall, then teleported to him again. Without asking, he began forcing Jin to chug an HP potion.

Then a second one.

As he went to give him a third one, Jin knocked the bottle away. "Stop!" He instead reached for his bag, downing a red vial. He threw it away. "Attack with me."

Without waiting, he lunged at another bot. It had several arrows through it, and Jin had marked it as his next target.

Several Lightning Orbs appeared around Jin. He swiftly appeared around the legs of the bot.

The bot’s body opened, a blade nearly slicing Jin as he rose up with a Thunder Sweep before it managed to fire lasers, a burst of light pierced through its core. That made the bot lag just enough for Jin to link the sweep into his Thunder Crash. He slammed into the bot hard, causing it to fall over as an electrified wave engulfed it.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Even while taking a hit, the bot was not defenseless as it shot several bullets straight into Jin. None caused too much damage, stopping at his muscle, but it still caused blood to spurt out.

The aftermath of his skills created a rolling wave, which rammed into the fallen bot like a chainsaw.

Lumi’s eyes flashed as he launched several more spells at different bots, causing their movements to hesitate for just a small moment.

"Lightning Bolt!" A strong orb of electricity gathered above the soaked bot. Susie’s eyes flashed as the bolt struck down, finishing the bot for good. This time, they were at a safe distance as it exploded.

On another front, Valeria engaged two bots in close combat, her superior speed and skill letting her dodge their attacks while her blade carved through joints and connections. When one tried to grab her, she flowed around its grasp and declared, "Visions of Celestia Bluster!" An illusion of a sun appeared around her, as she sliced it in half, piercing straight through the bot. She looked back at the bot she travelled through, which now held a massive hole through it.

The bot moved.

Valeria didn’t look back again, moving on to the next bot.

Just as the bot attempted to deploy its weapons, an arrow carrying a vortex snuck into its exposed insides, completely and utterly destroying it. It exploded behind Valeria as she moved away.

One of the bots wired its machine guns. One aimed at Marcus, one at Lumi.

SWOOSH! A second bot targeted every single possible teleport destination with missiles.

From seemingly nowhere, Zara appeared on the shoulder of the machine gun bot. With a swift rapid series of strikes, she disabled the weapon targeting Lumi. As for Marcus...

"Fu- DAMN IT!" He screamed out as several bullets hit him. Though they were dulled by the magic guard, it didn’t change the fact that he had been riddled with bullets. After the missiles landed and his teleport destination was clear, he teleported to safety. "I hate it here!" He declared, as he chain-cast several orbital flames, targeting the bot with the missiles.

Ignoring Zara, the machine gun bot had intentions of finishing off Marcus. Lumi’s light magic ran through its core, and Zara disabled the second machine gun.

An arrow shot through it, causing it to stumble. It rapidly deployed whatever weapons it could, but it could no longer find a proper target. Its senses were covered by darkness, and then Valeria’s greatsword pierced a hole through it.

By the time it exploded, Valeria had already moved onwards. With two bots left, she charged at the uninjured bot while her team dealt with the other.

While Marcus drank health potions, the rest of the team glared ominously at their remaining target.

Lumi started it, launching several streaks of light magic.

Susie then began the combo. "Ice Crush!" Ice exploded out around its legs. Before it could even attempt to react, several arrows and throwing stars flashed through the air, digging into its internals. It was followed up by an electric wave which slammed into it, only for Susie to take advantage of Jin’s water to freeze it deeper still.

Zara and Jin flanked it, breaking open its armor. With its interior exposed, countless skills exploded inside. In sync, the two jumped back from the bot, remaining unharmed as it exploded.

As they moved towards the last bot, it was entirely unnecessary as they were only in time to witness a purple zone manifested around the bot grinding it to fragments.

"Fuck, FUCK!" Marcus yelled out in pain as soon as the last enemy fell. "Are we safe now!?"

"No!" Valeria responded immediately. "Be prepared for enemies at any moment. Drink your potions!"

Marcus almost wept, but he dutifully drank his potions behind concrete.

Valeria panted, but she still looked to Lumi. "Based on my experience, that should have been the strongest defense force present. Orders, Leader?"

Lumi’s eyes flashed as he shifted through several ancient memories. Most of what he knew about the Wings, he heard after the fact. He did not actively raid many bases in his past life. "The Commander is still out there. He must be stronger than these bots."

"Yet." Lumi continued. "We no longer know where is what. Let’s search for information. A map, and gather evidence on what they’ve been doing."

He gazed at Marcus. "And let Marcus heal."

Jin found a metal slab to sit on. "Me too. Ugh." He reached into his bags and downed another potion.
