Chapter 89: Chapter 89 - Forum Post

With his invisibility running out, he made his way back down the building. He swiftly left through an open door an employee had just walked through. He proceeded to find a secluded spot in the shadows once more, disabling his invisibility and heading back home.

Gathering information was also to give himself time to think. A beneficial action he could take so that indecision didn’t stifle progress.

He had now cleanly marked down his first objective to accomplish on Earth.

Preventing Darkness from launching its invasion upon the Earth. To that end, also preventing ANY incursion of Masteria into Earth, if he could at all help it.

Yet, the Director he had seen was direct proof that it had already begun.

When he got back home, he saw both Renatta and Randy up talking when he walked in through the front door. "Huh?" Renan looked at Randy strangely. "Weren’t you asleep?

"Yo." Randy gave a wave. "I had a headache."

"Oh okay." Renan nodded.

"So." Renatta started, looking at Renan. "I was just thinking about something. You’ve been going out a lot more than recently."

"Hm?" Renan didn’t see anything unusual. "I think I only left three times?"

"Yeah." Renatta affirmed. "Three entire times."

Renan blinked.

That was right...

Randy explained. "Yeah, and you used to leave a grand total of zero times a year."

Renatta explained herself further. "I didn’t want to bring it up, since you are clearly being more independent. You did become an adult recently after all. Just something I noted." She shook her head, and changed topics. "Since you’re here, I have a question. Could I see a picture of Lena?"

She spoke casually, but Renan could see the concern underneath. She wanted proof this girlfriend was real, not some catfish situation.

"I’ll ask her." he promised. "I can’t promise anything. I won’t force anything out of her."

Renatta paused, then asked strangely. "You don’t have a picture of your girlfriend? You made her your girlfriend without knowing how she looks?"

"Kinda..."

The three of them shared an awkward silence.

"Yeah, that’s... not good." Randy spoke quietly.

"Fix that." Renatta added.

"Alright, alright!" Renan put his hands up in exasperation. "When she’s comfortable, alright?"

"Fine." Renatta agreed.

Randy took the opportunity to casually change topics. "Hey, ever hear of that Micheal place? Restaurant? Probably not. It’s all over my socials. Apparently, it has some amazing food with some goofy theming. Prices look okay too. So many people wanna go there, gotta register in advance, though."

"Micheal?" Renan certainly didn’t expect that name to pop up again. "Mike-Tastic Diner?"

"Yeah, that place." Randy casually nodded. "Surprised you heard of it. Only got fame in the last few days, and you’ve spent all day in that game."

Renan shook his head in light shock. "Honestly, I thought it was just a weird dream."

"Dream?" Randy questioned. "Huh, what?"

Renan explained. "I thought I dreamed about that place. Since it’s a real place, I must have seen an ad or something."

"Probably."

...

The next day, Renan readied himself for another day in Mora. Before that, however, he checked his messages. He had a few from Lena, giving him progress updates as she completed her own questline.

[Lena: It’s actually pretty funny. Are these fairies stupid or what?]

[Lena: Nevermind, the humans are stupid too.]

[Lena: This plotline makes no sense? For a moment I questioned this being real.]

[Lena: How do I have more street smarts than all these people? I don’t go outside! Lumi! Wait, real names are more intimate. Renan! I wish you were here. Not in this stupid fairy academy, but in my room in real life.]

[Lena: You are joking. I’m killing books. Chat, who made sentient book monsters? These guys have too much time on their hands.]

He gave her some natural responses, then shifted his attention to his group chat with the others. He had thought of another idea for later, and needed to inform them ahead of time. More importantly... he needed a public announcement.

[Lumi: First, I’m planning a raid on a boss. I can’t say an exact date, perhaps a week or two. Regardless, it cannot be accessed if you are above level 45. Try to stay below that number until then.]

[Lumi: Secondly, I know of a very important questline and more or less how to get through it. It’ll give tons of EXP. Let me explain...]

Renan elaborated on a certain plot that was actively happening.

There was a certain resort which had had its monster count go up recently. While such a problem isn’t too large as the monsters are weak, that was not the entire story. It went further, as the case was mostly the result of a mutated monster from an escaped Wings of Darkness experiment, and a certain pirate.

While it wasn’t entirely the most important thing to make them do, their options were limited at such a low level, especially when considering that they were not him.

He then took the time to respond to various randoms. From people in his DMs to comments on the forums. It was important to maintain his community presence, such that his ideas would spread, and players would follow him.

Finally, he went onto the forums.

"Hah." He could already imagine the hype his post would bring. He had to gather up the players for a big event this time.

[RAID NOTICE] Boss Event Incoming. Read Carefully.

TL;DR.

Raid scheduled: ~1-2 weeks from now (exact date/time TBA)

Level Cap: 45 MAX

Everyone is welcome. (see restrictions)

I’m hosting a Boss Raid. This will be the first global boss, and it’s open to all players under level 46. If that’s you, you’re invited.

Bring your damage, your gear, and most importantly, your respect.

Yes, respect. Not for me, but for the NPCs.

This isn’t a joke.

I need to maintain a high reputation level with the NPCs.

If anyone tries to ruin this event, they will be executed on sight and blacklisted from future events.

What you get.

Guaranteed quest XP, even if you die.

Loot eligibility: top damage dealers will qualify for rewards. All boss materials will be processed and distributed by NPC handlers.

Will you die?

Death is a near guarantee, but that’s okay. As long as we kill the boss, I guarantee that the EXP rewards will far outstrip what you lose from death.

Location and logistics will be posted once the time is confirmed.

Keep this thread watched for updates.

Questions may be asked below.

See you soon.
