Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 443: Uninvited Guest After Guest
(Author’s POV)
"What just~ ... what just happened? How did~ ... you do that?" Elisa was left dumbfounded as she saw her skin returning back to normal with her own eyes. Her hands and feet, they were not burned by ordinary fire. They were the result of the mystical flames, the test set by the Compendium itself. So, it was natural for her to be shocked.
Aamon was expecting her flabbergasted reaction. He took her other foot, repeated his actions with great care, and when there was no blemish left, he wiped clean the not so visible dirt off her sole and edges softly. He did all this without breaking eye contact with her.
Elisa tried to ask once again, "Lord Aamon~ ... how~ ...."
Aamon interrupted, placing his index finger on her lips, "Ssssshhhh~ .... you tell me, how are you feeling now? Any irritation, pain or discomfort?"
Elisa moved her toes, then her feet; they were as good as new. She looked dead in his eyes and asked once again, this time with more seriousness in her tone, "Aamon, since when did you get the ability to heal the wound from mystical fire?" She was getting wary of him.
She couldn’t reel over the fact that even she, the demon queen, who was higher in status than the Marquis of Hell, in every way, never had the ability to do such a thing. Then how in absolute hell did he just pull this off? JUST HOW?
Only someone like the King of Hell, Ramiel, or a being similar in status to him could do something like this.
Aamon brushed the tip of her nose and said, "You want to know?"
Elia nodded, anticipating his reply.
"It’s~ .... ~a~ .... ~secret. But aren’t you glad? Didn’t I do well?" This time, he turned the question on her.
She didn’t know how to react to that. With an awkwardly weird expression, her eyes fluttered as she answered, "Of~ ... of course, you did well. I was just a little taken aback."
Listening to her words, a mischievous smile made its way on his already out of the ordinary face, making him look even more rakish, devilishly handsome. Seeing him like that, Elisa had an unsettling feeling. Behind that smile, Aamon was definitely hiding something. She was sure of that.
Next, he tried to reach for her hand in order to heal them, but before he could do anything, the sound of steady footsteps outside Elisa’s door reached their ears. Elisa covered his mouth, pressing her palm against it.
Boring her eyes in his, she said, her voice a mere whisper, "You need to go now." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Why should I? I am not afraid of anyone," Aamon murmured playfully.
"Please~ ...." She almost begged. His presence would ruin everything. So, she wanted him gone as soon as possible.
Aamon relented as they finally heard a knocking on her door. He pulled himself up first, then helped Elisa up as well. With her eyes, she gestured for him to go out, while she adjusted her dishevelled clothes.
Aamon bent forward. He wiped her smudged lipstick carefully as he cooed near her ear, "I will come back~ .... Since we have some unfinished business. Get some rest, MY~.... QUEEN" And with that, he zapped towards the window and leapt out. The room given to Elisa was on the third floor. Her mouth twitched as she saw him disappear.
Another knock on the door pulled her thoughts back. She straightened her posture, adjusted her collar, and made her way to open the door.
To her surprise, it wasn’t the person she was expecting.
"What are you doing here at this hour, Ms. Everests? Do you need something?" Elisa asked, popping her head out of the door. Her body was concealed behind.
Nora stared at her for a while, which made Elisa nervous. After a brief moment, she finally uttered, "I~ ... brought an herbal ointment for your burns, Secretary Queens." She showed Elisa the medicine.
Elisa’s eyes zeroed in on the tube as she thanked Nora. She shoved her left hand out and tried to take it, but Nora said, "It will be difficult for you to do it alone. Let me help you with putting this on."
Her expression remained neutral, but she thought about the messy bed and Aamon’s lingering scent and thought, "I, absofuckinglutely, cannot let her get inside.’
"Ms. Everests, I appreciate your thoughtfulness. But don’t worry. I can manage on my own. I don’t want to cause you any kind of hassle," she tried to take the ointment, but Nora was persistent, "I have no problem. In fact, I insist. After all, all this happened while you were trying to save my childhood friend. That’s the least I could do."
Elisa had no answer to that. Nora stepped forward, her hand on the doorknob, as she tried to enter her room. She was too strong, but Elisa was vigilant. She, without thinking, blurted out, "Ms. Everests, I am~ .... I am not dressed properly. Give me a minute."
She hurriedly shut the door, adjusted her clothes, cleaned up the mess in her room and sprayed her room with heavy perfume to subdue any leftover smell. She even switched off the bright lights. Now, only dim ones remained on.
After two and a half minutes or so, she unclasped the door and let Nora enter.
Nora finally stepped inside, her eyes darting around. Elisa observed her expressions anxiously as she gestured Nora to take a seat on the couch. She settled down and asked, "Secretary Queens~ .... ahhh~ ... can I call you by your name?"
"Of course," Elisa was quick with her reply. "You may, Ms. Everests. Speak comfortably to me."
Nora nodded. "Elisa, sit beside me," she said as she patted the empty place.
Elisa seated gracefully. Nora took her right hand and remarked, "Elisa~ you must really like perfumes."
"Umm~ ... yeah," she said nervously.
Nora touched her hands as a sharp, overwhelming smell struck her nostrils. She couldn’t help but wince, "But~ .... don’t you know the alcohol content in those perfumes will make your injuries worse?"
Elisa remained silent. Nora applied the medicine; her movements were careful. In between, she asked, "Elisa~ ... what do you think of brother Brave?"
"Huhh? Mr. Everests?" Elisa was perplexed. "I don’t~ .... I don’t understand what you are~ ...."
"I mean, how do you find him as a person?" Nora inquired.
"Ummm~ .... Mr. Everests~ ... he~ .... he is a good person. He has helped me countless times. I couldn’t be more grateful to him," Elisa spoke, a faint blush crept on her cheeks.
"Do you like him?" Nora asked straightaway, her tone friendly.
Elisa’s eyes flickered. She wasn’t expecting such a question. "Who would like him?" She spoke.
Nora nodded and said nothing after that. She did what she came for and then left Elisa’s room. But as soon as the door shut behind her, the polite smile she had on turned cold. ’Nor, this girl~ .... she ain’t that simple. Did you notice the trace of lipstick around her mouth? And the way she blushed when you asked about Brother Brave?’ Aura was suspicious.
’Let’s keep a close watch on her,’ Nora answered as she made her way to her room.
