Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 30: Demon Lover

Evangeline had no choice but to follow the maids to be presented before the Alpha King. Layla and Sisi promised not to leave until she returned. They paused their endless stroll down beautifully decorated passageways and well-illuminated corridors that gave a nice view of the outside world. She must admit that Evangeline leads a very comfortable life.

Whoever they passed by would pause to bow their heads at her in acknowledgement. At first, their acts were making her a bit nervous but with time she forced herself to start getting used to it if she would rather not be caught as an intruder.

The maids paused before a towering door of solid glass, shimmering in turquoise. The guards stationed at the entrance greeted her before gently pushing the doors open. The maids stepped aside and encouraged her to step in and meet her fate.

She hesitated but eventually walked through the open doors thinking what was the worst thing that could happen.

Evangeline stood in awe, captivated by the grand courtroom radiating a royal aura. People in different shapes, sizes, and aura all stood by her left and right accessing her with different expressions on their faces. She looked a bit lost in their gazes as she proceeded forward to where her mother sat beside the Alpha King at the far end of the huge room.

Evangeline paused in her tracks at the sight of the Alpha King.

He was Gorgeous.

No longer that big, black intimidating wolf she encountered that night.

No wonder Evangeline was also perfect in looks. She had beautiful, powerful parents who regarded her with a soft and loving expression on their faces.

Not too far from where she stood before the throne was her angry mate who turned to glare hard at her the moment she arrived. The presence of her mate and the unpleasant memories she had with him the moment she was thrown into this world made her really uncomfortable and curious as to why she was summoned to stand before everyone.

’’Evangeline,’’ Came the dominant voice of the Alpha King. He was seated before a hundred feet tall golden statue of a woman who sat naked on something she thought should give the impression of the moon. Anytime she glanced towards that statue, it overwhelmed her in many ways.

’’Y–yes...’’ She trailed off not knowing what she was to address him as since she was also his daughter. She glanced over to her mom who had a more welcoming expression on her beautiful face. ’’...Father?’’ She whispered, and it raised a few talks of disapproval left and right.

’’Isn’t she supposed to regard him as the Alpha King before the moon Goddess?’’

Evangeline gulped as she could hear them audibly, no matter how far she was from them. Her mother smiled down at her and was surprised to see her Father not paying any regard to her blunder.

’’You rejected your mate two nights ago and denied him the rights of laying his claim on you, yes or no?’’

Her anxiety reached the roof when the caveman who was supposed to be her Mate began to pace around her to sort of...she couldn’t really tell...to instill fear in her?

Since everyone has been saying nothing but that...

’’Yes, I did.’’ She answered, earning a surprise growl from the caveman who was now pacing restlessly behind her. She turned to throw him a questioning look at his behavior. Instead of being more mature about this and stopping what he was doing, his face hardened down at her daring her to do anything against him.

The Alpha King leaned back tiredly on his seat. There were obviously bigger problems than this, and it wasn’t that he wasn’t concerned about his daughter’s welfare, but he believed wanting to be with someone for the rest of their lives should be by choice and not by force. His people definitely do not understand the full concepts of Mates and the purpose behind it. Maybe not all Mates are destined to be together like they all think were the sacred teachings of the Moon Goddess.

It’s like Matchmaking.

If the first choice doesn’t please you, you wait for the next one the Moon Goddess brings your way to see if it is to your liking, and you are compatible.

His people only believe in first Mates and approve of when they chose to be together.

’’Why?’’ He inquired softly. Everyone has been curious to hear her out. They have heard loud and clear Alpha Jack’s side of the story. It was Evangeline’s time to voice out her thoughts before everyone.

’’Well, I...’’ She spoke up after a considerable amount of silence settled in the room. But Evangeline honestly does not know what to say. She wasn’t good at reporting people of their deeds and sometimes considered it as a waste of time.

Tell him what he tried to do to us. Father is always on our side. You need not worry.

That calming spirit in her head spoke again, and she thought of just telling them the truth so they could all move past the topic of her rejecting her mate or not.

’’Well, I woke up and—’’

’’You dared have a demon lover besides me?’’ Alpha Jack of Gnashing Teeth pack growled very close to her and enough for everyone to hear in the room. This made everyone stiff with wide eyes at her. Even her father that once appeared calm and relaxed sat up at that false accusation.

She was just...born in this strange world moments before he turned crazy on her. He was the first soul she was introduced to! Maybe the previous owner of this body might also have a weird fetish for demons but not her!

She turned around to lock eyes with this bad werewolf. Who has been making so much effort to make her look bad in front of everyone when his actions were the one that terrified her to fling herself out of the window!

’’What the fuck did you just say?’’

Her language and how she stood up to someone who was supposed to be above her in every way caused everyone flying out of their seats. Alpha Jack of the Wavering Teeth pack steps closer, closing the gap between them. His attempt to intimidate her falls flat—she doesn’t flinch, let alone shrink away.

God, he smelled. Real bad.

She tried to maintain her stance while he suffocated her with his body odor.
