Matrix Survival: I Get A Random Chest Every Day-Chapter 782 - 545 Kron Race
It is obvious that, as plant-based lifeforms, the Vine Race has no concept of bathing, and naturally, there are no bathrooms in the Botanical Garden.
However, Kang'er still offered Li Zheng a good idea. There are water pipes in the Botanical Garden, used to irrigate plants and sustain Kang'er's own existence, so Li Zheng could heat water to bathe or take a cold shower directly under the water pipe.
Li Zheng never expected that after entering the Outer City, his quality of life would actually decrease instead of increase.
Now, he can't even maintain a daily bath.
There was no other way, Li Zheng had to take a pile of furs and other materials from the capsule and asked the three Kota brothers to help set up a makeshift shower stall, and took a cold shower.
Surprisingly, although Li Zheng preferred hot baths, the occasional cold shower was quite refreshing.
After the shower, any trace of drowsiness immediately disappeared, and after tidying up, Li Zheng paced back and forth in the greenhouse, finally annoying Mirel.
"Are you going to sleep or not?" Mirel, feeling dizzy from watching him, said impatiently, "If you can't, go find something to do outside, don't disturb my rest, I still need to get up early to make you breakfast tomorrow!"
Li Zheng stopped walking: "I've noticed that ever since you started learning Chinese, your tone when speaking to me resembles that of a housekeeper more and more."
Suddenly it became so mundane yet approachable.
"What can I do?" Mirel rolled her eyes and turned her back to Li Zheng, "We still have to eat, right?"
She looked like a little wife with grievances, if it weren't for Mirel's appearance as a girl barely over ten years old, Li Zheng might have thought there was really something going on between the two of them.
"Alright then, I'll take a walk outside, so I won't disturb you."
There was no other option, Li Zheng had to leave the greenhouse.
The Vine Race has habits that are very different from other races, for this should have been the rest time for most races, yet Kang'er and Basil were still busy as ever.
Li Zheng didn't understand how there could be so many issues to deal with in such a small Botanical Garden.
He went over to observe for a while, but couldn't figure anything out, so he headed to the Botanical Garden's warehouse to grab a lot of unsightly fruits, eating them to pass the time.
Though the fruits didn't look good, the taste immediately captivated Li Zheng when he ate them.
Fragrant and sweet, juicy and refreshing, after the first bite, he couldn't help but take another.
After finishing one fruit, he eagerly grabbed another, biting into it with juices splattering.
What Li Zheng didn't know was that the reason these fruits tasted so good was entirely because of Kang'er's tireless and constant care that produced such results.
As for their unsightly appearance, that was the result of natural selection, a process Kang'er allowed to happen naturally.
The Vine Race fully has the ability to cultivate each fruit to the desired appearance, but doing so would inevitably go against the natural way of plant growth.
And the Vine Race respects every plant's freedom to grow; they merely optimized the growth process.
"You really can't underestimate any race..." Li Zheng thought as he bit forcefully into a third fruit, "Besides the advantage of the variety, even ugly farmers' methods may not match the Vine Race's cultivation techniques..."
"Oh, right!"
Thinking of the ugly farmers, Li Zheng remembered he still had two mechanical pets, having left them in the capsule and even missing the pet registration.
It wasn't that Li Zheng deliberately forgot the two blood-colored robots brought back from the Kron Race's territory, but because of the usual language barrier, Kuro and Is's presence also became very faint.
Thinking back a bit, Li Zheng found the Kron Race's language from his memory and noticed a very strange point.
Logically, if a race was left in the Matrix as a trial and given the current state of the Kron Race, they were considered extinct, then why was their language copy still available in the Outer City?
He couldn't remember where he got the information, but once a race was extinct, all their information including language and writing would be erased from the Matrix and all systems in the Outer City.
If not mistaken, the reason for such action was mainly for the Terminal to conserve resources?
Useless things should naturally be buried under the dust of history.
So if there is still Kron language and writing in the Outer City, does it mean there are still Kron people surviving in the Outer City?
If that's the case, how did the Kron Race become a trial race?
Could it be that, like the ancient races, they voluntarily returned?
With questions piling up, Li Zheng released Kuro and Is, planning to get some answers.
Although the two blood-colored robots possess biological consciousness, their physical structure is entirely inorganic, so they were naturally able to remain stored in a capsule, incapable of storing living beings, for long periods.
While in the "Bloody Battlefield," Kuro and Is were inseparable, long accustomed to a life with only each other, so even though Li Zheng hadn't released them for nearly thirty hours, they felt no discomfort.
Li Zheng, disinterested in using the Kron language directly, asked with the Translator on: "Tell me, what's going on with your race?"
After the translation through the Translator, it immediately became pure Kron language, and because of the translation, the mechanical voice from the translator almost perfectly matched the style when Kuro spoke.
"Master, can you finally communicate with us?" Is seemed somewhat excited.
By contrast, Kuro appeared more composed and gazed with his mechanical eye towards Li Zheng's ear: "The Translator, has Master successfully entered the Outer City? Master's talents are indeed extraordinary, entering the Outer City in just over thirty days since the survival selection began, almost seventy days faster than the Kron Race!"
Seventy days?
Li Zheng's eyes flickered, his rapid entry to the Outer City was virtually due to the Treasure Chest System's aid.
To be blunt, if it weren't for the Treasure Chest System providing him with blueprints for the Genetic Potion Making Station, he might have died when facing the Three-headed Ghost Lion.
"You and Is seem to be from different times?" Li Zheng noticed Kuro seemed to know more than Is, "I just discovered that the Outer City still retains your race's language, does this imply there are Kron people living in the Outer City or Wilderness, can you explain what's happening?"
Not only that, just from what Kuro had said earlier, it seemed the Kron Race had a significant number enter the Outer City. Yet, why were so many left in the Matrix?
This puzzled Li Zheng.
"This matter has a long story."
Kuro spoke with a downcast tone: "Overall, our race became a trial race because we were deceived!"
"Deceived?" Li Zheng was astonished, "Was it the Terminal?"
Besides the Terminal, who else could have such capability?
To trick most of a race back into the Matrix?
"It was the Ancient Relic Tribes!" When mentioning this name, Li Zheng could even hear a gnashing of teeth in Kuro's tone.
